This is the Lixada folding stove. It is the medium size and it's construction really surprised me. I hope you enjoy this test and burn-in.
Buck Reaper Coating Removal
Переглядів 6048 років тому
I decided that I didn't like the coating that my Buck Reaper knife came with because when I tried to use the knife for buttoning, among other things, some of the paint did scrape off. It didn't look good so I decided I wanted to remove it completely. I tried to scrape the coating off at first but to my surprise they did a good job of coating it with a pretty resilient paint. I used a paint/epox...

My review of the Esbit folding stove. For around $10.00 you can't beat it's versatility and portability.

How to hang a hammock with only one tree
Переглядів 29 тис.9 років тому
Many backpackers love the idea of taking a hammock with them instead of a tent. But a problem that you can come across when hammock camping is not finding two trees with the right spacing...solution?...learn the one tree hammock hanging solution.

Don't Worry Be Happy Ukulele Cover [by CoamexUke]

Here is my first UA-cam video. I've had this ukulele for about a month and am very excited to be able to play anything. Thanks for watching!
Very nice. Not made for batoning though.
I am thinking that this would be more efficient with much shorter tree straps and a permanent ridgeline on the hammock so that the hammock would not sag so much and still have the same 30 degree lay.
Nice review, but why do people insist on battening with what is really a slicing tool. If you want to split logs use an axe! (Agree with David Cooper below).
Thanks to Lot
You can also tilt the pole away from the hammock, and dig it into the ground a little. This will relieve the tension on the cord. This is also great for tarps.
I usually just pull the truck around to the right distance, and hang from the roof rack...but this works, too.
Part of the issue you are having is that 550 cord has a good bit of stretch in it.
Thanks, I'd been wondering how one of these would work. Looks like it would be worth packing.
*This is a great hammock stand. I use it daily inside▫ ▫>**allmy.tips/HammockStand?46t** I do check the bolts about once a month and tighten them if needed. It's a lot more stable and sturdier than the stand I used to have. I would recommend.*
What about the 30 degree rule? Your hammock is tight as highwire
Very good ideas, Thank you very much
Why, on so many reviews, do I see the very first thing folk do is to hammer the crap out of a perfectly good knife. Knives are cutting tools, especially the Harding. It has a stick tang and is not suitable for this, what I consder to be, abuse. I've even see one idiot batonning with a Swiss Army Knife and another fool who batonned with a new Helle Viking knife and broke the blade off at the tang. Why? If you are travelling in the wilderness and you need to process fire wood take an axe or a small hatchet. Rant over (You did ask for comments).
David Cooper I think I’ve seen the same video with the Swiss Army knife. I was confused too. Battening with a folding knife is already not recommended, battening with a slip-joint folder is even worse. I own the Helle Harding, and I think that it could take some light battening, but it still wouldn’t be my tool of choice.
I agree.
There is a place for batonning imo, but definitely not with (nice) stick tang knives like this.
Good grief. Even my dirt cheap grand trunk hammock didn't stretch that much. Hammocks are supposed to be hung with a 30° angle in the suspension. This is more of an informative video on what not to buy.
Paracord is too stretchy.
u kidding, u use 1 tree and 1 pole, u dumb?
What is the quality of the metal? Is it stainless steel?
Good test
I have an identical clone of the Emberlit stove, of exactly the same size, weight, and dimensions, but mine's branded Overmont, and I absolutely love it. The excellent Overmont alcohol stove and Etekcity gas stove are hereby relegated to secondary use when/where wood burning is not allowed.
Did it remove the 620 usa letters ?
Unlike other people that try and pack the stove to overflowing you put just the right amount of fuel in and achieved a great boil time compared to others. Thanks for sharing, great video.
you think you can heat your tent up with that somehow?
Coughlans tablets are smaller and don't smell or leave a residue. About 1/2 size, round, and 12 will fit inside with room for a Bic. Cheers from New Orleans
Can the music- it sucks- Video really nice
OK, so others have mentioned it but your horrendous music blasting out is really off putting and serves no purpose other than spoil what is otherwise a decent, informative video.
I have this size and the smaller ones. I used alcohol in them they all work very well and not very expensive. During the unboxing I did notice the sharp edges and used a fine file to debur the edges before assembly. All these types of stoves are not deburred, be careful.
Just got mine, my god its nothing like a mora, it feels so good !
you have to put the bottom of master post near the hammock and use a cord from it to the tree to have tension all time
Here is an idea: www.hammockology.co.uk/hanging-solutions/product/257-half-a-hammock-stand
Good, but could really use more detail on the knot
A taut-line hitch would probably be a better choice (Goggle is your friend)
Hi, a nice review, I only have the one Helle knife at this time and it too is the Harding,My own personal use for it is hunting small game, so it is my skinning, butchering knife. It can tackle larger joints of meat but in most cases the length of cutting edge makes deep cuts a little messy. The handle of this knife is for me too nice to risk smacking it with a club of wood, that’s where my Esse Lazer Strike comes in,Bottom line is we can all enjoy this knife for different field crafts.
nice review and great voice.
Nice show. now i feel comfortable about getting one. thanks!
thinking about getting one of these for my girlfriend for Christmas. Thanks for the video man, just convinced me this is the one to get. Have a cool Yule. UK here
☀️ *_Thanks_* _Great demo_
Bought mine recently from Amazon and i cut myself pretty bad. I have the large version of this stove. Some edges are very sharp. Then i see the included sandpaper. Hmmm.....why did they not fixe that problem before selling them? My stove did not look like the one in the photos and some parts not fitting the stove. I send some emails to them asking about this but it seems like they dont want to understand the problem. And Trangia burner does not fit.
STRANGE coloured man.
I always bring a cordless hammer drill in case there is rocky ground. It also comes in handy for chipping away rock off of beautiful places for souvenirs. Or if you didn't pack enough food, you can use it to shake baby owls out of dead trees.
great review, I'm going to get one
+Richard Hill Go for it! It's not a bad deal considering how compact it is. It makes a nice addition to your camping gear or even a go bag.
wouldn't it be more stable if the post tip was actually several inches below the ground surface & the post was tensioned at an incline away from vertical toward the 2 guy lines; then when the person's weight is added to the hammock the post will approach vertical & the weight bearing exerts a vertical component downward force on the pole further strengthening the vector suspension force.
Sold! thank you for the short and sweet review!
+Oliver Buenaflor No problem! I hope you enjoy!
I have one myself try the other one with the bowl in it it will burn esbit, wood, alcohol, and trangia types fit right down in eBay 8 bucks look under folding backpack stoves great channel I subb d stay safe brother
I just received my Lixada Stove from China. Like you, I removed the film, and assembled it. Somewhere in the assembly/disassembly process, I sliced my finger on one of the sharp edges of stainless steel. It happened when I was struggling with one of the tight connections. Doesn't look like you had any trouble, but just be aware that it can happen. Thanks for the video.
+William Burr Aww man! Sorry to here that! You're right, I did notice they were a little sharp.
what are the dimensions of this one?
JESUS!!!! ALWAYS with the damn blasting music in the beginning of the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That bigger than the one i got. Thanks nice demo.
I thought this was going to be a Zen riddle.
Pretty cool stove.
Puerto Rican Prepper Thanks! I thought I was the only Boricua into this! Lol
Nice video, well presented. Wondering if you know the weight and/or the dimensions of the stove? Thank You
Bradley Mann the hight is in cm online but it's 6inches in height and around 5 inches in base width. And it weighs around 13 ounces
Thank You
is that the Medium sized stove ?
Yes, this is the medium sized one. I felt like it was just the right size for my specific camping need.
Holy shit from the video thumbnail I thought this was a guy wearing some kind of gold plated suit of armour
