      Drmtlgy SPF- tint was too dark and orangey, the formula was thick and greasy, and it made me break out. The ColorScience Face Shield Flex- formula was so thick, looked and felt like foundation, it settled into every line and pore in my face, and ended up looking chalky. Both were just awful for me.

      @@oddlyuncommon3535 Interesting - I found the DRMTLGY tinted one too orange as well, but quite liked the texture. Shows once more how individual our needs and preferences are.

    Q.1) Does methoxybenzoylmethan ( avobenzone ) in heliocare 360 water gel would give same protection like titanium dioxide ( nano ) in heliocare 360 oil free gel.??
    Q.2) are hybrid sunscreens like above one gives much more better protection from uv rays than physical / mineral sunscreens ??
    kindly Waiting for positive response...

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Рік тому

      1) The protection depends on different factors: range of UV rays they protect in, but also concentration, other sunscreens they are paired with, other ingredients in the formulation and stuff, so you can't really say. But both Titanium Dioxide and Avobenzone don't offer enough broad spectrum protection when used on their own.
      2) I much prefer "chemical" (organic) sunscreens over hybrid or "physical" (inorganic) formulations, both for the protection they offer and their cosmetic elegance on my skin. But that of course also depends on the filters that are accessible to you, the US for example lacks the more modern organic filters, so it might be different with sensitive skin there. But as always, it depends much more on the general formulation than on the individual filters used.

    I’m sorry to hear that you don’t enjoy it! I bought this because I couldn’t get the water gel, but I actually quite like it. I have oil skin too, and I totally get what you said about feeling a film on the face, but for me, it’s not that tight or uncomfortable. It felt like a delicate film attached to my face, it might sound ridiculous, but I felt less concerned about it breaking me up than some other sunscreen which felt like the oil was seeping into my pores. As for the scent, it’s indeed pretty intense; it reminded me of grape-flavor bubble gums🤨. I didn’t like it nor hate it. However, I felt the scent getting weaker after a few week’s uses. I wasn’t sure if it’s olfactory fatigue or the fragrance fading. I also like the slight yellow/brownish tints somehow make my complexion looks brighter, but I didn’t find it mattifying either. The only issues I had with it were that wasn’t water-resistant and sometimes if I used too much(or reapply), it would start pilling. But I will still try to get my hands on the water gel one you recommended. Wish you have great experiences with all the other SPFs!

    I have not had good experiences with Heliocare products neither. All of the range 360 Doesn’t really seems to suit my skin (apart from the capsules I take everyday and do work). I have combination skin and even the water gel did dried out my skin. I have also the oil free one and have had the same issues as you. I love the finish it gives to my skin but I can’t use it as a stand alone product. As I have Melasma I’m heavy duty with SPF so the only way I’ve found they’ve performed for me is as second layer over my first layer of sunscreen in the AM. The first layer is Daylong Kids which I love but if leaves a very shiny finish which I matte down with any of the Heliocare products. I, though, can’t use them for reapplication afterwards because they dry my skin so much that it starts to peel. From Heliocare I got the answer that the tightening feeling comes from the protecting film forming on the surface of the skin. The worst of all experiences has been with the water-gel color light. The formula doesn’t stick to my skin, the color looks patchy, get into my creases and pores making them look more prominent. It is a pity! First because I wanted to bad to love these products and also spent a lot on them… by the way, Glückwunsch Schweiz!

      Hav e you tried the new La Roche Posay Uvimune 400? It has amazing UVA protection, so should be great for melasma.
      And ha, I wear the short because I love the red color, but it isn't very often people pick up on the fact that it is the Swiss symbol.

      @@DoctorAnne I‘m trying Uvimune 400 right now - the fluid one - meaning, when I know I’m going to be mostly outside and with the actual temperatures definitively being sweating. The finish is also very shiny on me but it is light and I can apply it several times without feeling heavy. It is really a nice one, also love that it doesn’t contain fragrance.
      And by the shirt… funny, coincidentally you wore that shirt exactly on Swiss National Day ;-)

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  24 дні тому

      That entirely depends on what exactly your skin is sensitive to, I can't give exact recommendations. But I have reviewed two sunscreens from India that an Indian friend uses, and she has eczema prone skin, so maybe they work for you? The video is here: ua-cam.com/video/A47YLci0T94/v-deo.html

    I have been trying SO hard to like this sunscreen, but its AWFUL. I feel like everyone who likes it just doesn't apply enough. Okay, the scent is strong, but I could get used to it, if it was the only problem. After this sunscreen dries down, there are patches of orange/beige tint, that are impossible to rub in, because it is so dry. I can see where i have stopped applying it (for example, stopping at my hairline, there are orange patches). Putting makeup over this is horrible- at some places it pills, at some places my foundation wont even slide because the SPF is so dry, and i ended up so dry and patchy, so cakey.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  8 місяців тому

      I find that to often be the case: people like it when applying only a third of the recommended amount.

  • @jih-pu4xe

    I got some of this as I have oily skin & the reviews on it were amazing! I have tried it a few times & it's horrible. I'm not anti-fragrance & I don't mind the scent too much.
    However, it felt nice upon application but when it dried down it felt really tight, it was really shiny, not greasy but definitely not mattifying.
    It felt like I had placed a fine layer of plastic on my face.
    It was also awful under foundation. I don't always use powder but had to when using this as the shine came through the foundation.. This then made my skin look cakey whereas my usual foundation & powder barely does that unless I apply too much powder.
    Piling - my foundation just rolled off throughout the time I was wearing it. I admit that when I've tried it, it felt so uncomfortable that I had to cleanse & re-apply my make up as due to the tight feeling it gave.

    Hi Dr Anne I think spf is one of the products with the most polarising opinions tbh. I know that for myself the most hyped products practically never work well for me and are often passed along to friends. If you felt it like a tight mask then it was too drying for you - as someone with extremely dry skin this is a common effect for me with many spfs. i'm very sensitive to fragrance and this has worsened with age, both from a skin irritation standpoint (rosacea) as well as headaches etc with powerful scents. Most people like fragrance in their products and for some the more fragrance the better it seems. That however isn't true of everyone and the very hyped bum bum cream from Sol de janeiro smells awful to me - a fake almost plastic scent that's really off putting to me and I really don't get the hype. I can't even go near a Lush store for a similar reason and find it headache inducing. Some people get very sensitive to scent during the menopause with all the hormonal changes also. Fragrance is a very personal thing and we all seem to react differently to it. I obviously haven't tried this one, but have the paediatric version on my "to try" list currently. Best wishes.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  2 роки тому +2

      I experienced something similar, not with menopause, but with pregnancy: I used to love the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, which is quite heavily scented, but once I was pregnant, I couldn't stand the smell anymore. Tried it again after having the babies, but no, the smell now seems awful to me.

    I have normal to dry skin, and have the same impression of 360 fluid cream, normally I would put geek and g c glow, then spf, and it would be enough, but this formula makes my skin feel tight, like there is a film. I just feel i need a moisturizer between the serum and spf, and when temperatures fall bellow 30 it would be ok. Anyway, heliocare advanced gel is one of my favorite spfs, it has more pleasant scent and texture.
