Come on Guys and Gals. If you're watching Mark's videos, and you are if you're reading this, subscribe and Like. Let's get the Mic Assassin's channel to 100k subscribers. Hands down, i learn more about microphones from this guy than any other video-based channel. Let's keep his channel growing so he can keep bringing the knowledge.
    Cheers, Mark!

Coming from the "dangerous" mind of Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff, I'll buy that.

Thank you! Oh I'm a danger alright... to my own wallet. I love microphones too much.

Sometimes I feel the u87ai is a little to hot on the way in and I’ll use the -10 db pad and it helps a lot.

10 db of extra headroom with the flick of a switch is not a bad thing at all.

Wait, doesn't the TLM 67 use the K67, not the K87?

The TLM-193 is overlooked for V/O as well I think...

It is. It's also a very popular mic for voice acting as well.

Having never used a Heil Legend, I can’t really speak from experience, so I don’t know.

Had you bought the U87 first, you would not have needed any of the other mics you bought before you bought the U87

That is very true. The lesson learned is to stop trying to avoid the inevitable.

CUI, Commenting Under the Influence can get you pulled over if your blood-microphone level exceeds .08.

@@pensado3000 True, but the used 87’s on the lower end of the price spectrum are more often than not much older models that may have a lot of mileage or capsule wear on them, or may be those with the less desirable Rev 04 circuit that has the daughter board, or even those in the serial number range below 125.000 that pre-date when Neumann fixed the tension issue on the capsule causing them to have a weaker bass response. So, caveat emptor. Because of all of the above reasons, unless you really know what you’re looking at, I’d only ever buy a used 87ai with a more recent serial number, which means possibly paying a bit more to make sure you have fewer regrets later as opposed to trying to find the cheapest one.
