The most difficult poem to write is your own mirror reflection and she does it so effortlessly. Thank you for sharing. Amazing piece.

What a powerful performance. I was on the verge of tears, but started bawling as soon as the pomegranate red was mentioned. Sooo satisfying to feel love, life, and nurture reenter the bloodstream. I hope you’re doing well!

Most poets speak from the heart.
    Andrea speaks from the soul

"The color of ladybugs in love." My favorite line. ❤️🐞
This is beautiful. I hope her health has been restored.
And yes you can die of a broken heart. My grandfather died 9 days after my granny. This will sound terrible, but I was happy. I know she was the one who came to take him Home, and I know they're together now.

andrew gibby is one of my favorite writers/performers. her writing brings together the scattered pieces of myself i often forget i have at all. when feelings beyond sadness haunt me down, in a way, i feel she writes me to life.

This made me cry at the end. I love this channel and listening to all these different expressions of poetry, but this was absolutely the most intense and meaningful piece I think I've ever seen. This hit me really hard.
If it's ok to share something for a moment, September this year I lost an uncle and both of my only living grandparents within the span of two weeks. My grandfather was just about to head into hospice care when my grandmother died of a spontaneous heart attack at their home while making the bed just like any old morning.
He had a lot of health problems really as far back as I can remember; heart issues, mobility issues, alcoholism, dementia...whereas she was always bright and happy as a clam, the gram who made the cookies, took care of everything, warm, sharp and witty as ever. We never thought she'd go first, and we feared how lonely she'd be living without him when he inevitably went.
When mom told him she'd passed she said the life just drained from his face. About a week later he died in hospice. They were married for well over 50 years, lived deep into their 80s, and died within a week of each other. As much as it struck us all as a double tragedy, there is a connective and romantic beauty in that, I feel.
This was an incredible poem. Truly my favorite as of yet. The way you describe the brokenness of living and the clinging to life through the deepest, most intricate love...I am blown away by your words and your artistry in all of this. It's inspiring, and no matter one's own situation, it grabs the soul with its honesty. I'm so glad your heart is alive and beating. You're an amazing artist and spokesman, this was truly excellent.

    I will keep
    Broken
    Things.
    I will keep
    You:
    Pilgrim
    Of
    Sorrow.
    I will keep
    Myself.
    ~Alice Walker
It’s devastating to hear you are dealing with chronic illness, if you can be nourished in the same way you have nourished myself and so many countless others, I know you and your body can become the best allies to one another. Thank you for speaking your obstacles out loud. So many people need to know they are not alone in this world, and your body, spirit, noggin etc need you to MAKE NOISE
