Did we fix our whale water heater problems?

In our Xplore 304 caravan from Elddis our 8l Whale water heater kept tripping when on 2 bars of electricity (1500w).
We try a DIY fix after speaking with our dealer.
Does it work or do we now have to travel hours each way to return for them to look at?
