Best way to resolve this issue is to buff Acro/Flight to be on par with Superspeed. Nerfing Superspeed would cause a HUGE uproar as there are too many players reliant on it after so many years.
but then no one will use actual powerset abilities because all the movement modes will be stronger

@@ObsidianChill just make movement abilities on par with upper-mid comparable dps abilities then? this seems like a super easy fix, just make them damage clones with different visuals so people can use whichever they want. or if its a min-max thing then ok some of them do slightly more or less or are more situationally useful or effective but not enough to particularly matter. not to the degree it does now.
Oh so you don't know how DCUO (gamebreak) works I see.... if they Nerf super speed and buff anything else that means they get extra money from movement change tokens.. been doing this for years with powers, The never ending loop of powers being op and then nerfed into the ground.

Actually. You're half right. But the powersets themselves need to be on the same level too.if everything was equal in this game. We'd have true freedom of loadouts for the first time in years upon years.

As a flight user, I use dodge rolling + attack lunges to stay with the group (You can cancel the lunge with a power to stay at range not melee) _😉_
came to the comments just to say this. I honestly have no problem with flight and love it, i always end up staying ahead of super speed users just by using lunges and canceling with powers in hallways. With a game this overcomplicated there is always ways around any problem and people dont realize that.
I used to do that too but whirling dervish is just too powerful to pass up(if used right) so I ended up switching to super speed. Not too mention it's way easier for tanking too.
I'm just a dumb noobie here but I gotta say bless you man, I've only been bouncing around for a month or so and finding any sort of concrete information about a lot of the stuff in this game is kinda all over the place. Your videos have been an invaluable resource and even if I have to tweak things to my circumstances, you explaining WHY a thing is important or what job is serves helps me try and find the best substitute relevant to me. I'm finding that I even watch videos for powers/builds not relevant to me just to try and soak up as much information as I can. Thank you for your hard work, you're carrying a lot of us on your back and I respect that hugely.

If they put all SuperSpeed abilities and the one´s of the other movement´s (Supercharges not) in the iconic tree the problem will be reduced and would be more just for all.
Super speed IS EXACTLY what it's supposed to be... FAST. Faster than everything else. What is people's problem? Flash moves faster than everybody else even Superman. How can anyone be upset that a power functions the way it's supposed to?
I agree. I have played since beta and will NEVER use super-speed. I have dabbled with it as a tank, but just cannot abide it AT ALL. I am flight all the way - always will be.
Acrobatics is also cool but superspeed is just bananas
Panderus didn’t even know that Superspeed had the quick dash ability, says it all about how much they play their own game and listen to feedback.
I use flight (or skimming), mostly because I hate platforming.
Swoop attack instantly removes you from combat movement and puts you back in fast movement. Coupled with shields, teleports, or while controlled powers (like unstoppable), flight speeds up drastically.
For me the choice is simple.....I would rather have a power low in frustration than meta in damage.

I've always gone with the pick another power option. I did super speed to get the movement feats and that was it. To me If It Ain't Flight It Ain't Right. But, that's my opinion as someone who mainly plays their role and doesn't care about my dps numbers. Having my toon feel the way I like is more important to me than a few mil more damage. If someone run ahead of me because of a few milliseconds and drops to the adds oh well. I do agree with you. I don't understand why people would get mad at a content creator that doesn't directly work on the game. Seems ridiculous to me.

It’s simple really, the game is already broken, it’s already not fun… no content really… the game is 11 years old and not much as changed for the game itself because adding for stuff for ppl to pay. The game feels more like a job than an actual game to have fun. People getting big numbers in damage is their way to have fun in the game once you get to endgame or if you’re competitive. You don’t get it because all care about is “flight” and no one is judging you for it so please step aside and stop trying to judge other people for what they like or don’t like. You like your flight right? You don’t care for numbers right? Good for you now don’t come at other people for what they enjoy doing.
@@NocSlays what part of my opinion and what's important to me make you think I'm going after anyone? If dps is important to you fine go super speed. If you don't want to go super speed go to the forums to complain not to UA-camr that doesn't work for Daybreak.
The fact that OC had to make this video speaks to a more overarching issue being the lack of attention to the shortcomings of the rest of the power sets' trait abilities. This lack of attention to dcuo by daybreak devs compels everyone to pigeon hole themselves into using the familiar abilities in order to maximize the power sets. I was recently looking at all the wasted trait ability slots and realized that there is definitely a lack of care in the dev department for this issue. No disrespect intended. Many of these abilities can be improved or replaced with a better idea altogether. This issue starts at dev awareness in my humble opinion. Another very appreciated video by the way. 👍
I just just replace the movement ability with a shield _🤷♂️_ keep doing what you're doing bro, you're the only one putting in the hard work getting stats _💙_
3:56 Speed Drain is also very strong if used after another supercharge buff like Neo-Venom Boost, Ice Elemental, or Circuit Breaker. When I was testing Ice rotations I was very pleasantly surprised by Speed Drain's performance with the Ice Elemental 60% damage buff. In a gem spam group using a SC buffed Speed Drain fairly regularly is doable and does quite well.

Another thing that need´s atention is the weapon damage, we have like 9 if i´m not mistaken and only 2 are viable to DPS.

Valid points. At the same time super speed does not automatically put you ahead in damage. A lot of players think it’s a shortcut to the top of the leaderboard. You still need to have your stuff in order. Proper gen and tactical mods, arts, allies, SP, and such. As someone who uses flight, skimming, and acrobatics on different toons I’m still near the top unless I’m in a group with ultra try hards. Either way, I get the same marks and drops if I’m top DPS or last. I am in full agreement that power and movement balancing needs to happen to get out of these cookie cutter approaches. On another note I wanna thank you for the spreadsheets you put out. It’s real, usable data and time consuming to put that out.
This is true, it’s still on the player to execute properly and SS doesn’t automatically mean you are good it just provides the players with a better foundation
Thats why they brought out reverse flash passive, if your anything but ss its a slow movement mode you have no choice but to use it as a passive
Some people do want to use movement mode powers to dps though, and they weren’t used back in the day since they weren’t viable.

A movement attack for flight would be that one where supergirl spins herself like in the terrorium raid, that would be the flight equivalent of dervish

I would have no idea how to be a useful player if it wasn't for your videos. I use flight but use your load outs as a foundation with only replacing dervish. All your hard work is appreciated
I have one toon that is flight, but also has the sports drink that gives him superspeed as long as i keep making it at the research station. So i get the best of both worlds. Flight for exploration, superspeed when going into omnibus missions
I would love it if the other movements got buffed to be on par with speed, but it is admittedly very funny to simply run around in a circle for a bit and keep up with everyone else's dps
The problem is people take this game too seriously and always being sweetly hogs trying to be number 1 on the leaderboard then proceeds to talk down to everyone else! Idgaf who is number one as long as people don’t go down and we get through the content that’s all that matters to me! Super speed just sucks as a movement mode. Not everyone enjoys it and the meta build always uses the same sh?t!
Ajustement may be needed.
But people need to think outside the box with other mouvement mode. There's definitely potential!

Man this topic hits home for me bc of me trying to get flight acro nd skimming buffed for the longest time. Ive posted a few ideas (more than a few) and nothings changed. Im not against super speed. I just think acro flight skimm need a power on par with whirling. I realize your angle chill saying balencing on SSpd is the easier way to go to get bck to using pwr set dots. But your right on this 1.
It seems most people enjoy your content, in which case, this video is for the minority who reply negatively to your videos, or just ask about flight and acro, or complain about ss. I very much appreciate the guides, and everything you said in this video should be common sense. I use flight on 14 out of 15 toons btw, i understand the advantages of ss, but i dont care enough bc i prefer flying. Sure it would be nice to decrease discrepancies between movement modes, but i dont play competitively enough to feel the need to complain about this often. anyone who doesnt like it, should talk about it in the forums instead of youtube. Ps: eog is probably a bigger “exploit”
Thanks, it's that catch 22, players want the best damage but when I say you need to be SS and use _____ they say well im acro what would you use then? not an acro ability 😅if having the most optimal rotation isn't a deal breaker than players are completely free to use multiple other powerset abilities and just do marginally less damage.
Soooo, with all that being said.. if someone were to want to use things like dervish, trap, drain and phase dodge in a loadout purposely.. what do you think would be the best power to fill those last 2 slots?
I got tired of acrobatics and bought a movement token yesterday, haven't used it because i'm torn between super speed and skimming but after this video i'm leaning towards super speed now.
When you did a Super Speed Only Rotation, that killed me lol doing all that damage just by messing around .

Lets talk about when the game used to be good before everyone used a superspeed loadout. It was great. Everyone used their powers. Not it sucks.
Tbh these super speed clipping load outs are boring, they’re too easy. I for myself want a challenge. I’m HL and flight and going through my HL load out is a bitch lololol but it’s fun, and yea flight is slow.

Older played here, youre spot on about nobody using those lame iconic powers, i knew a lot of people used HL shield though. The only reason I don't use SS, I don't like the little lightning sparks. Doesn't look right on my character.
By this same reasoning, every dps should be using whatever power puts out the highest dps, and everyone should be using only might or precision, whichever does higher dps.

They need buff the other movement mode no need nerf it or make it useless, movement mode, weapon and your power set is part of equation of this game. For example you have six slots available if 2 of them is movement mode ability that a bad thing
In a previous video you said some controller debuff are not worth it, so should I not use heal debuff ? I have to believe defense and damage debuff is worth it, right?
defense and attack debuff are always going to be useful. Instead of the healer debuff if you have Batman Who Laughs ally I would use its Toxic Encore passive and run a finisher as a controller for the extra stacking defense debuff myself personally
@@ObsidianChill sounds nice, I just kept heal debuff on in case there is a heal mechanism that a boss has that i do not know about , like the zeta robot, better to be safe than sorry, but your idea sounds interesting too. Thanks for the knowledge

I hate super speed as a movement but gotta use it with the meta rn. Appreciate your videos bro. As a returning player your vids make a world of difference for players like me.
They don’t have to buff the movement mode powers to make the other movement modes viable they literally just have to make the other modes able to toggle dash like ss and make phase dodge an iconic ability. That would fix all of them imo

Super speed and it’s abilities need to be nerfed it’s way too strong.
It will be, but some other movement type will be ridiculously buffed that way gamebreak makes money off of movement change tokens.

I actually prefer flight better,HOWEVER , I like swirling derverish, vortex trap , wish speed had it, not a fan of taking one bad turn and youre up the wall,lol. but I have out dpsd a few times speed players in raids or lost by not much. I wouldnt nerf anything though, but it would be great to move the other movements up to speed(pun)
ive seen ppl do that in alerts & raids..how were u zooming ahead like that? 9:08 do u have to have a sword this definitely needs a legit l/o ppl underestimate speed x lightning
whatever button or key your fast movement is you press it on and off/toggle it and you dart ahead like that in combat
Super Speed is very useful when you trying to jump while using superpower enemy player can't hit you when you jump so high
Been farming the pathwork themyscira 1p thing recently. I started off SS but ended up changing to skimming because i plan to change to water next double artifact boost whenever that might be and the average time i beat it went from 2 minutes 15 seconds to nearly 3 minutes (about 2 min 50 sec) consistently because of how slow the in combat movement is so overall i farm a lot slower. Really unfortunate since flight is my ideal superpower, can't even go with your preferences because they don't feel viable. I am probably changing back to SS soon.
I out Dps loads of people and I don’t use movement powers like others with precision so it’s not necessary if you did not know.
It's unfortunate that you've been put into a position have to defend your videos. The lose lose lose is real in a time when you say something entirely true and people simply don't like the truth, so they take it out on people just trying to help. I haven't been playing DCUO more than 3 months yet, but your videos have been nothing but helpful.
I'll admit, as a new player it was discouraging to see superspeed part of the meta, but that's entirely something the devs need to address. It's somewhat perplexing still how it became part of the meta.
It's understandable that players want to maintain a theme for their heroes or villains. I took a lot of info from your HL guide and tried to adapt if for flight, simply cause it was hard for me to break away from the theme I had in mind for a Green Lantern, and have him go SupSpeed (you can cancel out of Whirlwind with feet mods Aerial manuevers or something like that) but it's still not the same DPS. Even using a HL power in place of movement, the slowness is still real. I'm not in a league so have only pugged content so that aspect hasn't been an issue for me personally, but it's still slow, and would hate to end up in a group with only speedsters, getting dusted the whole way.
Hopefully Daybreak or whatever the dev studio is will take the issue seriously, and nerf super speed.
I appreciate everyone wanting to keep themes for their builds, after all it is a superhero game. That is why if the movement modes were adjusted or even superspeed we could get out of this forced meta and it wouldn't matter what movement we could pick there would only be slight advantages instead of large ones.

Acrobatics is my favorite movement mode but I switched to super speed because it’s meta

Idc as why I'm flight and I only lose in dps by a lil to a speedster. Iv also noticed most people who beat me have max artifacts where as I dont!
agree completly brother, speeds the best as you said even with out the damage moves that players can use or not, just the ability to get around is better with it. out side of those hard to reach briefings and investigations

well it works a bit with a flight a little bit
in case of speed movement during combat
u can toggle sonic speed so u move bit faster . unlike acrobat.
the only time us use full is when ur in a hallway u can use zip line to transport ur self faster .but overall super speed is the best movement
well you can move around with acrobatics by jumping and tapping movement key. thats what i use to dodge most of the mechanics. u dont need to block and roll just mash jump and movement key while using powers

It’s a very easy fix all they need every DLC is a acrobatic and flight ring 💍 that’s current CR then everyone can be super speed with ability’s and still be able to fly or grapple….easy fix
Do any of the survive mode. Trinkets outperform others on you list, like pets or turrets?

Cyclone push and tornado pull have horrible animations, making them a damage loss if they can’t be clipped, which most of the time they can’t, gadgets is the only power that can really utilize them. You’re intently overrating their potential
Vortex and whirling are melee only, something that can’t even really be done in elite content (not even in hallways) because of the wacky mechanics that’s been put in place. However, I could still see lowering them not being a big deal.
Vortex and whirling’s benefit to prec is minimum, with most powers it’s a damage loss on aoe, and it’s make flurry shot competitive.
benefit to prec minimum but can you even point out an example where a prec dps wasn't using them in any video? You are also missing the point where i'm comparing superspeed to other movement powers. Compare their damage against other movement mode powers and the advantage SS has is plain as day to see. There are plenty of flurry shot rotations that use tornado pull clipped with the weapon debuff because the actual powerset has nothing that can match. Mental uses cyclone push as well on invis.

I mean I agree is it the best in the game obviously yeah. Becouse it's flashes power and zoom ect. It's the speed force. It's up there with regular powers because it's a power in itself. That's dc universe being passionate about dc comics. Becouse people are going to want to both throw lightning and run up walls with flash like heros. Or reverse flash like villains. And to be honest, especially after Netflix version of Flash, that desire probably went up. And is superspeed going to he the fastest movement power? Uh yeah, it's called super speed. But even with that being the case, I've always seen it as more of a power and less of "movement". So I'm just not going to naturally going to want to compare it to say flight or skimming. I'm going to want to compare it to like nature or atomic. But at the same time, just because it's the best movement speed doesn't mean it's going to be used in the best way. But that's part of what he teaches. But there is one thing that always got to me. It's the funniest movement speed. I remember growing up watching flash speed around to the funniest positions possible. From standing since you can stick to walls, it can be hallarious if you're bored, and when you're waiting for a 30 min que time, you're going to get bored.

A must for dps but worst movement in the game imo. Walls, ledges, getting wrapped around a street lamp post....nothing like flight. Making a bee line to your target, floating above the enemy just out of range for them and still attacking them and not the slowest movement (second slowest next to skimming) I prefer flight.
Back in the day, 2012, I tried out all the movement modes and found Superspeed to be the most fun to me. All things mentioned here just (mis)developed to be great advantages I guess ^^ I wouldn't even mind seeing the damaging powers getting nerfed, even as a prec dps, because well.. I hate prec dpsing. I just wish the real optimum was actually using both, weapons and powers.
In my opinion it’s too late to fix movement mode powers. Too many people have paid for a movement mode respec token. I myself only use dervish for ads, if they nerfed it I wouldn’t care because who cares about ad damage anyway

I can tell u right now,I have been attacked on my game for my loadouts..I am a fire tank/flight…quantum troll/flight electric heals/I just like to fly,lol…I am not a chart topper,never will be,have no desire to be…my tanking is awesome! My power out is insane, and no one dies…and I don’t ever artifact swap…these are all things that someone said one day and then it becomes the coolest thing to do..i play and whatever my roll I get shit done,lol as many videos as u make,if they don’t appreciate the work u put in,fuk em,lol I recommend ur vids to all new players…besides…next month,don’t know if u heard… but they are coming out with a new ally..it’s “2match Timmy” he’s going to come down,and since new players don’t need to put in any effort towards sp anymore since the clamping makes newbies and vets equal,the lower your skill points..he’s going to fart,and only low so players will have a full stats boost…980 percent to def,might,healing,prec,self healing…I think I have read if u are willing to put in work and effort in learning what u need to do..he just comes down and sprinkles glitter on ur face..think I heard that right😂

Just buy the movement rings if you want to go back to flight & acrobatics.
You know they trash your CR right? Next episode the robin ring will lower your CR and the flight ring is from the Legion episode, the speed ring is also CR capped
