What you see in the video, the gorillas throwing that cat about is probably identical to what wild gorillas do in the presence of unknown wildlife, they are curious and cautious and not bound by anthropomorphized rules that dictate their lives.
They did as soon as they saw it in there. It took some time for them to find someone and for that employee to contact the keepers for the gorillas then they had to coax all of the gorillas back inside and that young male didn't want to go in cause he was still interested in the cat. The whole video was only 10 minutes so to get all of that done in 10 minutes was pretty darn fast.
It looks like the one that was chasing the cat tried to protect it. She just wasn’t the alpha so had no real power but kept trying to push the silver back.
I really like how the zookeeper's carried away the cat. You can tell by how they're holding it that they're in the field because they just love animals.
