- Sunday marked the end of the road for Japan's Brave Blossoms, who suffered a 3-26 defeat to South Africa's Springboks in the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup.
Despite the loss in Japan's first-ever knockout stage appearance, both local fans and those attending the tournament from overseas had plenty of praise for the host nation on and off the pitch after a thrilling night at Tokyo Stadium.

I have lived 17 years in South Africa, and love this rugby nation that have just won their 3rd world cup, with heart and passion, and most importantly for THIER COUNTRY! But japan has such an inspirationally fluid rugby, ball in hand, that I hope the sport will grow in Nipon land!!!
