Thank you, very informative video.I went ahead and tested with zener diode that i knew the value 3.3 volt and my power supply.there is one issue the diode does not stabilise at 3.3 volt when i go up on power supply up to 30 volt the diode also goes as high as 4 volt too. how can i conclude the exact value ?cause we have 3.3 diode, 3.7 and 3.9 too.thank you

I have a door chime that stopped working. There's 3 zener diodes that all beep when I test for continuity. Does that mean they're all bad? I didn't take them out of circuit. There's 3 other regular diodes (black with silver stripe) and they don't beep when checking with continuity tester
@@HaseebElectronics ok so I took one of the 3 zener diodes out completely. It measures 0.002 each way in diode mode and beeps positive for continuity. So they're bad correct? Thanks a million!! Ps. This door chime has no step down transformer so I assume the diodes and big capacitor does that. Also, the pcb was darkened near the 3 diodes....looks like it got hot on the pcb in that area

if no part number or code visible, in that case we have to find the service manual or circuit diagram for the circuit. or we have to look for similar circuit or there is another way to analyze the circuit and reverse engineering, but in that case it will an assessment
Like me I had to get a 2nd same board to check unless diode has markings you can read. Otherwise it's an educated guess I guess. For example if it sits next to an IC that requires 5v it may be a 5v zener.

it is best practice to open one end of the zener. in some conditions it gives false beep due to parallel components
