Great video. I wouldn't recommend RG59 you experience signal loses not to mention interference especially on Aerial (UHF band mostly), Digital Cable TV or Satellite TV. I only recommend RG6 (triple shield). For example RG6 dual shielded is much better than RG59 Dual Shield or Triple Shield. RG59 is good for FM radio if you have an outdoor FM antenna or for RCA, Component or Digital Audio (SPDIF)
@@user-es4hy7tr7u Any brand of coaxial cable is good make sure it's an RG6 Trishielded cable, I would recommend a Quad shielded RG6 cable but they are more expensive than the trishilded cables.
@@user-es4hy7tr7u If you are looking for a particular brand I would recommend AMIKO brand they are experts in satellite, cable and terrestrial receiver satellite dishes, UHF antennas, LNBs, Diseq switches, Diplexers. They also make high quality cables. Since 2017 I only use AMIKO products for terrestrial television DVB-T2 and satellite television DVB-S2. And their cables are recommended for UHF bands especially if you combine an UHF aerial with LNB using diplexers.
Hi i had cable labelled 19 patc installed by an electrician in an extension but have no receipts and unsure as this will do job .it will be used for freeview and linked to existing tv aerial . Does this reference sound familiar .it has copper looking centre with aluminium foil and thin aluminium braiding which i what alerted me compared to the cable you demonstrated . Cheers Chris
Do virgin media cables use rg59 or rg6 cables. Or can you use either? I wanted to extend my existing cable as it won't reach the TV box. And not sure which cable I have currently or if it can be interchangeable when extending. Please help.
Hi there, Can I use RG6 cable or PF100W/PF100B for tv aerial? I found this on TLC ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES thanks in advance for any help that you can give me.
Have question I have a rg59 cable cord but its build in the wall mean I can't take it out unless I have a professional do it will it work for charter spectrum because I try to use it and it not working do they need to reconnect my cable line outside because I think at&t uverse guys disconnect I think?
Hi Anthony. Yes WF100 cable is the cable I use and recommend. A single for TV aerial and two for satellite. You could get some shotgun but if you're buying some WF100 just use two. Thanks, glad you like the videos. I have some more going up soon please do subscribe to our channel.
Can rg59 work with speeds up to 1 gbps? Is there a bottleneck? Would it work better with rg6? What would likely cause not getting the full 1gbps speeds of a 1gbps enabled connection? Ethernet port is 1gb port. Thanks if you respond.
@@smartaerials Ok Cat6 for ethernet, but for the cable in does that matter? I have old rg59 and Im wondering if that's why I'm not getting full speed. Cable tech said might be worth replacing but didn't know.
Don't use RG59 for digital TV signals in the UK. The frequency band being 470 MHz to 860 MHz means that RG59 will rob you of some 3dB/10metre, plus connector losses (that's 50%) at the low frequency end and a whopping 4dB at the top end! RG6 being substantially better at the top end. Given that DTV signals are so variable and that CT100 isn't that much dearer I feel it is false economy to use anything cheaper and also, if you're having it installed, the extra cost will fade in to insignificance taking in to account the installation costs themselves. I know 10 metres seems a long length but it soon gets used up when cabling up a house!
Do you sourcing any plenum foaming FEP coaxial or solid FEP Lan cables? We focus on UL/ETL high-end plenum communication cable more than 20 years and can provide OEM/ODM manufacturing solution. Best regards Barry
If you are cable subscriber and have a modem from you cable operator. You mut use RG6 Tri shielded cable and Cat 6e. The RG6 cable will be used between the cable splitter and your cable modem, and the Cat 6e cable will be used between your cable modem and PC, Laptop, Gaming Console, Switch, Wi-Fi Router. Never use RG59 coaxial cable and Cat 5 or Cat 5e cable they make the internet speed worse. Note: Cat6e can deliver internet speeds up 1000 Mb/s with no problem

Would be so much more useful if you slowed down and let camera focus on what you're showing rather than a quick pick up wave about and put down. Can't see what you're showing. Your instructions seem solid but visuals hard to benefit from.

Smart Aerials and the imaginary part of the impeadance( reactive portion incorporating inductive and capacitance) makes it a far better match to Cctv ( security cameras then RG 6 )

Yes. It's the same 75 ohm coaxial cable that is used for OTA (Over The Air or Aerial), Cable and Satellite TV.

It's possible with certain set ups, but I would install Cat5e or Cat6 instead as this is more appropriate.
