What made these guys great was the fact that they never never let the industry push them around and take advantage of them, they did it for love ❤️ and they kept that brand until the end!
Awesome TEX-MEX band...Doug really gave a lot to his band mates so they could shine too!...So Under Rated!...PLAY...it...LOUD!!!........Augie, Flaco, Freddy & Doug & co.
I agree with Mark ... highly under- rated band with the talent they possessed should have been given more air play everywhere. Sad that Doug is no more and Freddie's gone too. May they both rest in peace. God bless - Gerald Anandappa
....einfach wundervoll..der Rythmus geht ins Blut und in die Beine.....auch diese moderne Version läßt nichts von seinem Charme und seiner Inspiration vermissen.....ich bin happy!
Love to hear Doug sing this song!! He's too good!! He sure can get down on that guitar of his!!great perfomer. I only recently found them and so glad I did!! 💖💖👍🌟🌟🌟✨💫💖💖
He had such a great style, voice and lineup of great players love the tornados, used to play one of their cds at my mexi friends carne cookouts. Jt from mex
Beautiful recording of a fabulous live performance. Magnificent music. My only gripe is in the credits, where Augie Meyers is shown as having played "g", indicating guitar. I know it's picky, but then so am I. I love listening to Meyers on that beautiful Vox California.
The very best of Texans, both Germans and Hispanic. They created some of the best rock, country, soul music, ever. Doug was just pure soulful rhythm & melody & he burns all the way through, Then Flaco & Freddy blow my mind. I've loved Flaco & Freddy for the last 30+ years. One of the most Classic Americans songs, ever. WOW!!
Dejlig musik. Mange hilsner Bente.
the first time i saw this video was on a sat. afternoon on a black and white tv.doug had long hair,no shirt ,cowboy hat,and cowhide vest they rocked the show.
Lyrics Teeny bopper, My teenage Lover, I caught your waves last night, It set my mind a wond' rin' You're such a groove, please Don't move, Please stay in my love house by The river. Fast talkin' guys with strange Red eyes Have put things in your head, It set my mind a wonderin', I love you so, Please don' t go, Please stay here with me in Mendocino Mendocino, Mendocino, Where life's such a groove, You blow your mind in the morning, We used to walk through the park. Doug Sahm, and August Meyers, made their songs so great! One of the most under rated bands of all time! RIP Doug, we miss you.
Mark, Your comment is the truth... The Texas Tornados were never given the credit they deserved!
I agree with Mark ... highly under- rated band with the talent they possessed should have been given more air play everywhere. Sad that Doug is no more and Freddie's gone too. May they both rest in peace. God bless - Gerald Anandappa

Ha! - Love the Grateful Deadish sequence. - Love the Tornados - they lift me up when I'm feelin' blue.
That Farfisa™ WAS the sound of the 60s! Love it!!!
Dana Rockwell ...Auguie Meyers only plays his Vox organ, not a Farfisa.

Lyrics
Teeny bopper, My teenage Lover,
I caught your waves last night,
It set my mind a wond' rin'
You're such a groove, please
Don't move,
Please stay in my love house by
The river.
Fast talkin' guys with strange
Red eyes
Have put things in your head,
It set my mind a wonderin',
I love you so, Please don' t go,
Please stay here with me in Mendocino
Mendocino, Mendocino,
Where life's such a groove,
You blow your mind in the morning,
We used to walk through the park.
Make love along the way in
Mendocino
Like I told you Can you, dig it?
If you want to groove
I'll be glad to have you
I Love you so
