If you set the oversampling to x1, the peak is even smaller. I use the StandardCLIP all the time. Any kind of oversampling on it makes the peaks louder. Just set it to none (x1)
You are wrong. Compressor will also always leave a small click. You are making it worse this way. You would have to use a limiter in this case. Ps: i dont mean to be rude and your clap actually sounded better with the compressed version in the mix, but compressor always leaves a tiny bit of a click even if its just 0.001 ms. You can even resample it and see it. Please correct me if im wrong.

Yes remember that aliasing can be an issue which will create a build up of harsh frequencies.
