- Today Jim is off logging at Paul Smith's College and we are doing morning chores with Brenda! She is also giving a tour of her greenhouse and all that is growing in there! There's a lot involved with taking care of draft horses!
Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

Brenda we enjoy you just as much as jim and behind ever great man is a greater woman
Thank you, Brenda, for taking us along, Jim's mother said it perfectly. Jim is blessed w/ Brenda.
Brenda, It's amazing how much you accomplish in an average day on the farm and running your home as well . Between filming the Working Horses With Jim Podcast 3 and presently 6 days a week sometimes you would walk a few miles a day. Grooming 8 horses especially in the spring mud season and winter hair being shed out as well. Then go to running errands and also gardening and greenhouse planting and harvesting ( which is one of your passions for sure). Sometimes farm life can be overwhelming and then you need to prioritize what's important and leave the minor issues to another day. Your practical approach can take you along way.
Yes, you are right, do the most important and the rest will be there tomorrow
Wow, Ms. Lady has a big round pregnancy belly!!!!!❤ It looks like she's much bigger with this foal than when she was pregnant with Bree! Speaking of Bree, she has such beautiful mane and tail!! She's going to be a beauty all grown up as pretty as she is now! She sure does love Duke. They're big buddies! Abby's house is looking so good! It won't be too much longer until she can paint and then move in!!! She's a hard worker like her mom and dad! Your greenhouse is really producing lovely plants! Have a good weekend!!!
You too!
Please don't apologize Brenda. There is absolutely no need. What you do around the farm is just as important as what Jim and William do. You all make a great team. I particularly enjoyed seeing what you're growing in the greenhouse. I am 87 years old and live in a small apartment on the north shore of Lake Ontario. I take pleasure in growing things and have recently smartened up and now save any container that is suitable for planting. Nowadays there is so much plastic packaging it's good to find another use for it. I'm with you Brenda. I am so happy that Spring is here again and soon I can get my plants out on the balcony.
Hey Brenda, is hosing them off any good to get rid of the mud ??
Probably, the horses 🐎 would think it too cold !! LOL !!
It would be a whole different story if Brenda wasn't around doing her part.
Jim is a very Blessed man 😊!
It's Working Horses, isn't it. If Jim just had horses and no backup, he probably wouldn't be able to make it work.
Sounds like a typical morning on the farm. Sometimes the couple are able to work together, more often than not each running in opposite directions just to make it all happen. Thanks for taking us with you.
You are an amazing woman Brenda. Love watching you groom the horses. And they love the interaction and the attention. You can see it in their eyes, like getting a massage and it gets rid of dead hair and those “itchy” places. Great chat in the greenhouse. You can tell you are having fun with it.
"Good morning! And welcome to chores with Brenda!" 😆 haha, new intro idea when Jim is gone. Thanks for chorin around with us Brenda. Great looking plants going in the greenhouse.
Brenda, you are never boring, I love spending time with you. Your greenhouse is awesome and Skippy is amusing. ❤ I’m using a grow rack for the first time, thought I was a good gardener but starting seeds is a whole different ballgame. I’m from Tupper Lake, not too far from you but you definitely have a better growing season. See you on the next one.
Yes, there is a lot more to learn about starting seeds and keeping them healthy and growing. I have heard that Tupper lake has an even shorter growing season than we have, which is a challenge for sure!
I love growing plants to eat... Your greenhouse is therefore not at all boring! Thank you for sharing what you do and how life is going for you.
Brenda, thank you for showing us around doing your chores. Greenhouse looks awesome with all your starter plants and plants provided food for you both.
Brenda you have a lot going on! Love the green house! And you didn't mention you also cook, clean and whatnot in the house! Your not lazy! You give me inspiration to stay busy ! Thanks Brenda
thanks and thanks for watching
Brenda, do you ever wonder if they roll in the mud on purpose knowing that the next day they will get an awesome rub down and grooming by you?😂😂
Mud is essential! Horses love it. Spring is iffy weather and can be cold and wet, Mud keeps them warm, keeps the wind off. Then when it dries, the weight of the mud (plus tearing at it with brushes and scraper) helps pull out all the dead hairs.
I lov Bree's blonde main and the blond on her tail . Thank you Brenda for your sharing with us this mornin. lov from South Alabama.
Yes, they are pretty
Brenda you are an asset to your channel and the farm thanks for the videos.
If you wrote down everything you do in a day, Brenda, you would be shocked. I was advised to do that when I feel like I am not enough or pulling my weight. Or, sadly you can hurt your knee and see ALL the things you need to do 🤭😵💫 I hope I am mended by planting time!! Your greenhouse plants are doing so amazing!!
Now Brenda, you know you love being with those horses
Wow Bree is only a hand shorter then her mother
She's really shorter than that, could have just been the angle
Good morning Jim and Brenda ❤ hope you both have a wonderful day always ready to enjoy my time with you both on the farm !!!everyone give a thumbs up to this video Brenda did a fabulously great job at showing us around .. really enjoyed it a lot…..
This looks great on the wall. Love you a lot tori
Duke was eyeballing Skippy.
no doubt
Great video..love the greenhouse!
Thanks so much!
Hi Brenda - It was fun watching you do chores with your "Supervisor" Skippy. Thanks for the greenhouse tour.....amazing what you have growing in there! You are so right about things getting done on a farm.....daily chores first and then what needs it most, is next....the "never-ending" things to do. You & Jim amaze me! God bless.....😊❤
Honest take thanks Branda. My wife feels the same she’s a stay at home mom and feels most days she’s not sure we’re the day goes or what she’s done. But from my perspective feeding the troops and farm chores is a full time job
Jim and Brenda, I really appreciate the sound of a horse trotting on pavement at the end of your videos. Thank You Both !!!
Brenda stays super busy around the farm just like Jim. it takes all hands on deck. Lady is going to have a big one.
Farm life is not boring because of all of the activities one must do in a day and every day is different!
Brenda, i’m so glad i joined your family!
You bring peace & normalcy in to my life ❤
One more thing. You are never boring 🤗
Brenda, you are AWESOME !!!! Without you, life on your farm wouldn't be as wonderful as it is. Jim started this all however, without you Jim and your family would be a bunch of unorganized under fed and most probably, not very happy. I want to be the president of your fan club. OK ?
Thanks, Claire, you're too kind!
Thank you for the tour of your green house. I can only dream.
I never thought I'd have one, so maybe you will too someday!
Ah .... dreaming!
Greenhouse is looking very productive!!
Yay, keep up the gardening. The more the better!!
Who wouldn't like your videos, to answer your question ( If you like our videos...) You seem to go into overdrive to produce all those videos, churning out several per week now. With all the work both of you have with the farm I do not know how you do it, but you do it all very well.
Good morning! Greenhouse is awesome. Love the horses
Skippy is still trying to figure out his place in that barn. I'm thinking the best thing for him might be a playmate of the same species. Thanks for taking us along Brenda.
You brush and love on these horses and I enjoy the grooming They do too ❤
Hallo Mrs Brenda, thanx for taking us along w chores, green house greens and grooming a few horses. I missed not knowing who is who w th horses. . I liked seeing them being groomed, getting a drink, going out and pasturing. You're welcome to indulge us w more of the barn chores 😂 ty B.😊 God bless yall, horses and kitties.
Have to rename the videos: “Farm Chores with Brenda and Skippy” ❤
Thank you , Brenda. You probably know, but just in case ,mint is very invasive. It will take over your whole yard. Keep it in a container. I had to learn that the hard way. I never did get rid of it. It just kept showing up somewhere. You are a hard worker and I’m sure Jim appreciates you. God bless the farmers.
My grandma was a farmers wife and it's hard work. Ps bree and duke are so cute ❤. Love them so much ❤❤❤
Thanks Brenda for another great video! Hope Jim, William and Abby had a productive day too.
I make (and use to sell) carrying bags out of my cat food bags. (cut em in half or so, and turn down a bit on top and put rope handles on them ..I use them for all sorts of things.
That's great, my sister did that as well. I think they worked great for her
@@WorkingHorsesWithJim they are water proof also.
The color of Bree’s mane is so pretty.
I watch Abby’s channel and I love what she’s doing ! Her house is looking fantastic. Your a great mom.

Morning brenda
Bree is so pretty! It's fun to see so much of her! I'm sure they all are enjoying the new green grass! Nice William is helping Abby!! I just watched her channel just now--before this! 😊 Fun seeing your chores! You're awesome, Brenda!! 💕
It's interesting to see how tolerant the cows are of Skippity-do-da.
Recycling is the best. You work continuously
Hi Brenda, you did such a great solo job. How about it once a week/ month?
Thanks
yah we agree😅
Everything is looking good at ABBYS.
Great video Brenda. Jim isn't the only one on the farm who does interesting work. Boy, that Bree sure is shedding. Wonder how much less she'll weigh after all that winter hair is off.
I love the answer sessions you both are doing now. Just a few questions answered satisfies viewers and keeps us coming back.
I love that you're making do with what you have in the greenhouse! Waste not want not!
Looks realy mucky ,
Skippy is so cute . You all have a good day and just days . Thankyou for sharing your farm and life . Love your green house .
Brenda, thank you ever so much for your video today. While viewing, it occurred to me that I knew little about your responsibilities and a bit more about you as a person. You sounded a wee bit apologetic about your contributions and value but that's rubbish! WHWJ is my favourite channel and now I love it even more.
Nice video Brenda. Its nice to see some of the basic chores that need to be done everyday.
Brenda, just love your greenhouse! So exciting to follow your gardening adventures. We live in a condo so unable to have a greenhouse! So I get to enjoy yours. 💗
Hi Feeding cat! NO rats or mice in the u.s.a. 😊, I think Bree has grown a bit, it must be getting warmer, as the horses are losing some winter hair. We'll done Brenda for your seed growth, some of the names of the plants , you are call they I have never heard of , must be another name in the UK, you said about getting more chicken's, buff Orpington, are good in cold weather 😉, Linda 🇬🇧
Hey Brenda, in your last video Jim spoke about Bree having sand in her gut,we are in a area which sand is an issue especially whenthe grass starts coming up, the horses hoe into it with such enthuisiasum that they pull up the roots as well so by injesting roots sand and all. we let them out in the paddock after theyve had a feed of hay, it helps to slow them down a bit.
Oooh, the pansies are so pretty. I love your greenhouse. You are growing a nice crop of plants. I always wanted to grow an old fashioned herb garden outside my kitchen door. Imagine all the delightful aromas as you step outside. A very nice morning doing chores with Brenda. 😊😊😊
Boy ! Lady’s belly is big !
May be something Abby can use. The girls can start with herbs
She's welcome to them!
Oh my goodness Lady❤'s stomach is hugh.
Very nice video Brenda nothing boring and I am so glad that your greenhouse is doing well. You have a green thumb. When you are doing the chores that have been done by William I am sure that you realize how help he's been to both you and Jim. God has BLESSED you both greatly. God bless and keep safe and I hope that Jim had productive day in the woods.
Hi Brenda great little video around the farm it a 24/7 job. 😊
Always love watch'in thanks for share'in.. God bless..!!
Brenda love your tie stalls and watering system for those heavy horses . Your horses love those stalls also . Our hay mowe had only one light bulb way up in the peak by the hay trolly . Pitching 20 bales of hay down in winter after evening milking was an interesting job for me .Ah farming great fun .😊😊😊
Good Morning! First!!
a really good video for us gals,,someday we think we're the only ones that have tasks, jobs, runnings, daily ho hum chores but it's great to see yours are way
harder and intense then ours..well,keep doing great Brenda with the brushing too.Bree sure is a cutie. one suggestion is to maybe spade/neuter skip and it will give you much peace for sure ya think? s
I love Brenda’s videos!!❤🎉
I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation today Brenda. I am very interested in what you do
Hey Brenda love you n Jim n the videos..can you sometimes say " hello, Jim is my husband"...( I know its ol school)..lol... I agree grooming is the best way to get to know n keep your horses quiet..all handling is good..
So informative, great job Brenda. Keep on keeping on!
Very enjoyable video❣️
Your Johnny Jump Ups look beautiful. Such a cheerful little springtime flowers 😊
If I remember correctly and I sure I do the ladies never run out things to do,
Brenda on those small pots you don’t like cause they dry. I used them all the time. I used a large tray that held I think 6 4 packs, I never watered them from the top. I poured about 4 or 5 Solo cups of water on the bottom of the big tray and ther little ones used water from the bottom. Can water them every three or four days.
DAVE SUKUP KC MO.
Really enjoyed the green house coverage.
I'm sure you will all be glad when the "sloppy" mud dries up !! Have another great day and make sure Jim doesn't track any of that MUD into the house.
Wow the greenhouse looks great. Hou have so much going on there.
Good morning from North Québec! You are very busy! I love your green-house!
Good morning, how is the weather up there?
Very cold this weekend!
Bom dia Brenda

I love your greenhouse learned a lot from watching that thank you.
Good video B
Awesome Brenda !!
Brenda thank you for the tour of your greenhouse, you have packed a lot in there. The leaf lettuce looks yummy love that on sandwiches! There is nothing like the taste of home grown herbs and produce. Find some time to relax this weekend.
"In The Greenhouse With Brenda" new pod series!
beautiful horses
Love your videos and your family
I love your green house
Love the greenhouse part in what you are growing and they are doing well! We are under a frost warning tonight so hopefully my micro greens and herbs will be OK. Feels very nice in the greenhouse in a chilly day! Do you have any issues with pests, insects? Can't wait to get things going in the greenhouse by adding more veggies in there. I enjoyed coming with you on the chores and the horses look good!
The farm is always a busy and enjoyable place, love it, so peaceful in this crazy world. Take care and God bless.
BTW - I'm also a BIG fan of Abby's channel, too. That girl is amazing. Talk about hard workers - she certainly takes after her parents and is one HARD WORKER !! I'm mighty proud of her as I'm sure you are !! 💞
