I just realised why I am constantly getting out of my Self Improvement Journey. It is because after doing the hard part of the day I always 'reward' myself by scrolling through shorts.. I remember the happiness of the task, but I don't even care about whatever the fuck I am watching. I realised how stupid I am 😭
Remember that scrolling through shorts isnt a reward.. like, imagine eating tons of ice cream after a workout. You work out so you can feel healthier and look good, but you "reward" your work by just undoing all the work you just did? that doesnt make sense at all. Stop treating shorts, ice cream, or any sort of addiction as a "reward" that you're "sacrificing" or "letting go of". You're doing all this because it's not good for you, you're doing all this in order to stop falling for these cheap tricks.. remember that next time you cope
Your not getting/falling off self improvement, you're just slipping up. You only truly get off it when you admit to yourself and create the identity that you're not good enough to have a good life and you lose all self respect. I'm guessing you're mentally stronger than that so remember that if you decide to scroll after work make sure that next time you set a new baseline (do more good habits simultaneously) below which you find it intolerable to live at. Therefore you always improve even though you feel like shit at your "lows". Think about it, discovering self improvement set a new baseline for you even without implementing the good habits yet so just don't quit

I tried to get in the flow state to finish an HA for which I literally had stuff prepped, I had to just. copy. down. and I kept getting distracted by random things and my brain went in thousand direction every like two words. I'm really excited to take this up as a challenge to train my brain to focus more! Great video, I learnt a lot from it :D
I legit gave my phone to my mum today and asked her to hide it till June 26 (I have an entrance test on that day). And I still wasn't able to focus or get into flow state. I open this lecture on youtube and then get distracted by the most random stuff. Like yk when you don't have reasons to procrastinate, you get distracted by the most lame stuff. Well, that's that. I was looking for videos and stuff to focus while being distracted and came across this video. I've been on self improvement since like, 2 months and that's cuz I watched one of your videos at random too. I can't imagine what path I'd be taking if I didn't choose self improvement. Better than instant gratification. Also, I made the quote above, it helps me when someone distracts me and it makes me mad, but then I remind myself to move past it. (be stronger than others 💪, resilience is when you don't let circumstances define you.) Remember that anytime you are happy, you are in the flow state. And it is easy to get there 💗💪

Definitely not,cuz myself who has entered 11th like a month ago,is just struggling like anything in science stream.. I seriously feel so f*kd up so much since rn I have been staying in my home for bout 3 months after my boards,being alone and feeling lonely cuz I previously used to study mostly in my school with lots of classmates until 6pm right from morning 7pm until 10th... Now am just feeling way too low since my coaching classes are going super fast and I can’t even keep up properly with them...

I started to fall out of my "flow stat" and it was bad but this video is just what I needed to get back its hard especially since I get bored easily, ut I try and tell myself that not everything is mean't to entertain me and thats the hardest
i'm just going to correct a thing here, flow is a state of focus and focus doesn't work like turning your lights on/off. getting distracted by a thought or other things won't reset your focus. this is misleading so i hope @ItsMeRuff reads this to explain this, focus works like sleep, you can't just sleep when you're really active or when you just finished a run, you gradually turn your mind and body to relaxed mode so u can sleep, and focus works the same way. at first, you can be easily distracted by anything, but as time passes and you avoid distractions and put your attention back to to what you're doing, you're gradually entering a state of high focus. so even if you get distracted by a thought or something, you won't leave flow, you just need to put your attention back again to what you're doing. and also, not everything is flow since it is an expression of what you can perform. if u want to learn a material or a skill, flow isn't for you. it's deliberate practice.

Step 3: Breath work before starting Step 4: Fake being in the flow state until you actually get into it aka think about work only till you actually start working with focus. (Fake it till you make it) Step 5: Keep away distractions or mute the distractions. Keep phones in different room if possible or keep it on DND. Wear noise cancelling headphones in noise distractions. Step 6: Rest and Recovery. Take a break between every flow session and get back when my mind is at peace. Best time to get into flow: 1: After waking up. When mind is most active. Advice: Using short form content and basically phone will reset the progress of your IQ build from working in flow state. So don’t waste time on phone and use the time for other habits.

But I've only got one on my phone. It's the only one that works for me. So yeah putting my phone in the next room would lose the meaning of even getting into flow, beacause I wouldn't get anything out of it.
