- This is big! We have a new development in the post Sega World Sydney demise statues saga. A new statue…. or two! I enlist the help of Lucas from Aussie Gamers Experience to investigate to see if these are real or myth! As the last videos on this topic went nuts on the channel featuring on IGN and Kotaku I knew I needed to act on this RIGHT AWAY!

4:29 That's honestly terrifying. Imagine walking past an abandoned amusement park/arcade and seeing Idris Elba looking at you behind some old structures.
There should be a permanent Sonic/Sega museum where the statues should be. Once we die you don't know where those statues are gonna end up. Being in someone's backyard is a bad bad idea. Of course who ever owns it will decide that but like I was saying I think we should try to prevent the things ending up on a dump somewhere.
Back when SEGA World closed there wasn't really a big market for old games because they weren't that old yet so to the owners at that time it was just junk nobody could use. But I think things have changed. Wouldn't it be great if people who had childhood memories with these things could visit and see them again and take photos with them?
I'd also be worried about the dogs for another reason, if those dogs are male their pee could destroy these statues sooner than you'd think.

I’m so happy that some more pieces of SWS’s history have been found! Hopefully in the future you guys will get your hands on them. Looking forward to seeing a update on this. I wonder if the tails statue still exists.

The credit for my tip off in the first IGN article to my Facebook name for the first statues genuinely made me laugh. I didn't have high hopes as I know how the guy in the junkyard is. But glad to see you're still chasing history. I remember visiting Sydney Sega World as a kid, was great.
All the best for contacting the owner and looking forward to seeing progress. Glad I could at least get knowledge of these things out there and hopefully saved. Such a shame to see Sally like that though. There's not much Sally history left.

How do these ppl get to own these statues??? Barb wire junk yard with guard dogs on these statues lol its so bizarre or you have the worst luck ever. Ask if they offer Deliverance with the purchase lol They look bigger though?? If you ever find a bubsy statue let me know so i can sweet talk them.
I couldn't see much else in the piles of junk in their yard, but I did see a bunch of ladders. This is a big guess but perhaps the old guy is a retired construction worker who helped tear down the buildings they were in and he kept them not because he cares about Sonic, but because he believed they'd be valuable some day (and he was right.) That's usually how these kinds of things get into the hands of people who aren't already collectors of whatever the items are from, who also don’t care about their preservation, and only greedily hold onto them because they see people want them. Sad really.
Thanks for the update! I’m hoping someday the Sonic World statues will be returned and restored, especially the aspects of Sally.

yeesh..for a junkyard..can't they at least have more security then a couple of dogs, a locked gate and rays of wire?
we seriously need a Sonic Statue rescue organization. Maybe when the time is right..
So they restored the statue in the mountain. We need to start signing petitions to save these, presenting them to these people, and finally preserving these historic pieces of art, and gaming history alike.

Well if he was that old...do I hear in the not too far distance... _Estate Sale_ ?! Honestly, that's the only way anyone will get close to 'em because the owners are clearly possessive given their "security", and are probably hoarders. No doubt they don't even know what they are, but may be just collectors of statues from culture in general given the Ronald I saw too. If they do know...nobody has that money.
Someone else suggested this as well. Will be interesting to see if that is how it plays out.

I actually wasn't sure if Liquid Paper was still a thing to be honest as I haven't had to use it in yonks. LOL

Is this statue bigger then the sonic and sally statues?
I would dare say that they are on par with the Sonic and Sally Statues. This is not surprising given that they were all intended to be displayed at the same theme park.
@@SinceSpaciesbecause this laughing sonic looks to be lifesized in this video,same height as a human,whilst sonic and sally,are much smaller
@@CraftThingsOnMinecraft Well I was not able to get as close to the Sonic/Knuckles statues as the Sonic/Sally statues thanks to two large dogs but they did seem to be of the same size.
