If they need to fix anything It's hourglass. It's completely broken and the hackers are still a problem. And the worst part is the NPCs can push you around and it's horrible. Rare is going to break the game.
I have 1800+ hours. I got completely destroyed by someone with 6 hours in game and 50 HG wins per achievements, they hit 100% of cannon shots, 100% of weapon shots, and also instantly teleported to my ship w/o firing out. I started HG and he was on my boat within 10 seconds of starting. Rare doesn't give a shit about cheating, as if they ban cheating then the player base dwindles even further. The EAC is 1000% useless, as all you have to do is kill the process in task manager for EAC and then cheats work just fine again. The entire dev team needs to go. Rare is like the only place on Earth someone can do a completely shit job over and over and over, and still get to keep their jobs.
Yeah ive noticed durning the commnity weekend a lot of stuttering and lag, around the Sovereigns and Skeleton Towers or whatever the new skeleton things with Ebon Skeletons are called.
Yeah, as a seasoned PC player, I don't really care about ANY of this, except the mention of exploits. Every game gets new content, whether good, bad, or indifferent, and every game has bugs. What I want the developers to do is find a way to COMPLETELY stop cheaters (assumingly just on PC?). It's getting ridiculous not being able to kill them, watch them teleport around from their ship to yours, waiting for you at your random spawn back in spots on the ship then insta-killing you, firing volleys of cannon balls at speeds that are not possible due to reloading times, double and triple shots of blunderbuss without reloads, and so on. It's gotten so bad that players now blatantly admit to your face in game chat that they're cheating, or even post videos about it, yet Microsoft and Rare do nothing about it when you report players. All they ever do is reply with a "you need to provide more information." I'm literally giving you screenshots and videos of it happening!! SoT is one of my favorite games, and I'm all for the open world RP-PVP and the challenge of skilled, no-cheating players, but it's close to being unplayable at this point.
Just wanted to say I genuinely appreciate the production value that goes into these videos. It's not easy to keep me visually captivated with mostly just B roll but you manage to pull it off somehow so thank you! Also you don't stretch these things out to 8 minutes just to hit the mid-roll ad like a lot of other creators, that's worth a lifetime sub on its own lol
Any time a player spawns onto their ship, the entire game chugs. Normally you’d hear the sound of their weapon to indicate they’ve returned, but instead the game struggles.
I wish Sea of Thieves added an island or a cave, what you could buy so you could take your basic loot , and save it there so you don’t need to sell it before you log out, But if someone can see you, you can’t just go to your desk and press go to my island or cave, you’ll have to run or attack them, you could invite your friends to go to you’re island, cave by giving them a map, You could have some setting’s so your friends could get your loot and sell it for you ?
Just the other day I sold a level 9 BB sword to sovereign and got 0 gold from it. Waited 72 hours and still nothing. I ended up reaching out to Rare’s support showing proof via recording and they pretty much said ‘scammer get scammed’. Then, I really realized I was playing a pirate game.
As someone who's Internet has been down since October 21st due to a damaged cable, I'm quite looking forward to playing season 14 with all its features 😂
My contribution to Rare: I was fighting the BB for the first time and none of my items were working, every time I pulled them out they immediately got stashed away. After investigating it’s not my system and everything worked fine on my end.
Actually i will say the chest disguise did work well alot of times for me and my friends hiding in peoples loot, and the barrels work better on islands and outposts, i never tried them on forts yet, but fun fact if your in one of those disguises on the burning blade manned by players, the skeletons wont attack you
with all the bugs from season 14, i hope they fully test the mimic dart. like what happens if the player you mimic swaps outfits or equips a pet. i dont have insiders so i cant test it myself
I logged in and looked forward to sneak around as a chest.... just to discover i need to grind my AS OFF to get any of the chests .. so i logged off, uninstalled ... by SOT was a pleasure

@@Quiet_-ds2lf Not true. Like, at all. Completing the Mischief Maker commendations is doable in a day, theoretically anyway. But all of the commendations you need for the chests? I honestly think Mimic darts might end up being tossed out down the road. Someone brought up a good point that worries me a little that the mimic darts could potentially help hackers get other people banned or even hide them from being reported. I wont lie, when I was reading about this is did make me worried, just hope Rare thought of something to fight this if it was to happen.
I would argue for no mimic darts being added. Sounds like another full season of bugs and bug fix attempts that could be instead time spent on the many, MANY existing issues.
Ya know I been around since the start, I love the game to a point, played the shit out of it where I more or less done everything twice or more, I haven't actually touched the game in over a month now as I just feel bored after 10 minutes in, starting to think a fu story mode should be something, a full 20 odd hour story going from start of the sea of thieves to now, it needs something and story is all I got right now that would bring something else to the game
it's more depth and evil villains causing chaos. maybe add in a main land with a navy that we all have to fight like a raid to get really cool shit and progress further on.. but ya know team devs are weird it feels like they don't play their own game or has a lack of imagination.
Safer Seas should be allowed for solos to enjoy a good bit of the content sure, but I agree that captaincy should be allowed at least, and still to restrict emissary flags, though that odd number is kinda dumb, 20 is better.
How is that remotely a bad idea? It's an exploit that is over powered... Should of not even been fixed, it shouldn't of even made it into the game for starters.
The game always stutters as I approach my captained ship fresh from spawn, and get small stutters when I see another captained ship in my spyglass. Non captained ships are far rarer but they don't trigger that little stutter
The game just keeps crashing for me, it keeps telling me to update the Video Driver but it always crashes when I turn too quickly or open a storage crate too fast. I dunno why, but its getting old and annoying. Also getting tired of Commendations in each and every new season, especially since a lot of them are not organic and something you need to intentionally grind. Which feels forced. Not to mention commendations requiring other pirates to do certain things, for you to get progress... Have we learned nothing from the Reaper's gifts?
@cheesefamine Definitely valid reasonings. I don't expect everybody to like it. I board ships with it from cannons haha, and even last night I grabbed a player from another ship and am able to harpoon kegs from skeletons. The parkour element is kinda awesome. Obviously my opinions, but I have fun with it. But you're definitely right about it being the opposite of an offensive weapon. It's useless in overall combat.
I really believe what safer seas truly lacks (and I LOVE this game mode) is ability to sell loot at sovereigns. No need for captained ships or raising company flags - JUST LET SELL AT SOVEREIGNS in safer seas! Now it makes no sense, cause the only reason I see for manual offload and selling could penalize me - is by giving me additional risk of being ganked/robbed while it takes me 1 hour to offload and sell... Which makes NO SENSE in safer seas, cause you are alone on the server!!! Which just makes my game annoying and adds this layer of repetitive boring offload and sorting/selling without any actual good reason or justification. The game just breaks gameplay loop and dynamics. Just let me quickly sell my stuff and sail to adventures! It is very annoying atm.
Hey who else here has their game crash at Reapers hideout or some skelly encampments? And only have it happen once and then you are fine untill you go to a new server??
Hoping the next update stops the random game crashes for me. Can't get any SoT people to answer me why this happens this season after years of playing even though I posted the dump file info.
i feel like the mimic dart is going to cause some MAJOR issues seeing how the season has gone. I can totally see it bugging out and completely overwritting your pirate model and changing it to whoever's pirate you took. on top of that, cheaters could probably do this to you as well. I'm not 100% convinced this will happen but knowing how buggy EVERYTHING is I wouldn't't put it past them
@cheesefamine If like me, you want to play undisturbed by human opponents. SS is the place to go. Bear in mind that there are lots of features disabled while currently loot value is 30% but will be raised to 100% in December's update.
@@cheesefamineprimarily tall tales. No one wants to do single player/co-op story missions while under threat from sweaty toxic players who have nothing better to do than make your life miserable even if they don’t get anything in return. I speak from experience with these players.
@@borgthepig then whats the point in increasing rewards if these missions don't give anything :p sorry if I don't understand something important, it just sounds like trading features for no pvp when doing tall tales but then people want high rewards for this mode when tall tales don't give rewards

Lowkey super hyped about the change to Safer Seas gold being brought up to 100%. I came back to the game when that came out last December, but selling takes so long and just feels like a waste of time. My brother and I planned to play Safer Seas when that update drops, we're pretty excited.
Yup. My partner and I played it this evening. We had both had long days, and she didn't want to deal with other people. We did some quests and had a good time while also commenting just how tedious it was to hand in everything like prior to Sovereigns for such a tiny bounty. We're also looking forward to the update. I play High Seas all the time, and sometimes she joins. At the same time, if she enjoys the game more and we have fun together in Safer Seas, why should I deny her that? Excited for December.
What was that bit about Andrew Finch and doing a shout to the environment team every time he posts a screenshot? It feels like there is some story behind that specific comment. Did I miss something 😂 ?
As it wasn't mentioned in the video, cheaters have been a problem since hourglass was added and cheaters are still a problem. Nothing kills my motivation to play like a cheater encounter.
Boy, if I hadn't already bought the season pass for this season.. I might have just straight up given up on SoT at this point.. next season though.. I'm really not sure.
Next season will be really good if they get it right, I'm an insider and they're adding something the community has wanted for a long time. I only hope they don't fuck it up.
I can already see the mimic dart being the buggiest piece of crap ever. This is purely due to the giant amount of cosmetics in the game. It’s something that happens in team fortress 2 all the time (although that game is very very old). A spy disguises himself but the cosmetics bug out and the disguise is missing a cosmetic. I want to believe that rare can make it work but these things are hard to program and the last season didn’t really make my trust in them grow.
Ahhh more killing of the game. Mimic shit is stupid. Traps are stupid. Grapple gun is stupid. The entire dev team is more worried about pirate emporium items to buy than the game itself. They need to start listening to feedback. Insiders is completely useless. They sit around a table and decide what features they want etc, the community input be damned. Said it many times and I will continue to scream it, FIRE THE DEV TEAM!!!!!
I said it a few months ago when safer seas released and I’ll say it again: Creeping Normality. Many tiny changes over a large period of time so everyone can forget anything ever changed. And, oh yeah, not freak out and end the game.
GTA, COD, Fortnite, RUST, Minecraft... no other sandbox game punishes you just for wanting to play in a private server. Everyone against Safer Seas just wants to gatekeep their hard to earn cosmetics. I say get over it, just make safer seas the same as high seas but as an invite-only server.
Let people do private servers with serval ships on Safer seas, full money, all content, but no rep. Anything rep-wise, you gotta do some shit on high seas. Make pirate legend actually matter again, make cool commendations and cosmetics so that you have to earn them on high seas. Let players play, but reward those who take the extra risk.
I think safer seas shouldn't be limited at all, and then just add extra pvp exclusive stuff or stuff exclusive to high seas that has to do with larger groups of people. That's infinitely better game design than what they have rn.
Above all this patch felt like a mess of features wholly unusable for any besides content creators. I dont mind tucking and i think the commendations are neat but chances are if you can tuck on someones ship, they're not competent enough to make it valuable. Blowgun can be fun but its clunky in pvp, and the grapple gun has virtually no use since you still get ladder guarded anyways. But all of those i could live with if the lag wasnt so bad, even walking from middeck to top deck on a galleon results in rubberbanding on 50 ping, moreover the instant another semi populated ship is near you it becomes as bad as if full servers were all together in the older days. It's either be put in exclusively 180 ping lobbies and lag anyways or just only play solo slooping, and thats less fun. I have hope the game can recover but its diminishing more and more
this season has really punted me in the ground, honestly, the last season as well, but much less so. I'm almost solely a solo slooper now and there. last season was the only season other than season 2 where I didn't finish the plunder pass, and it looks like this season is gonna be a repeat of that... it makes me sad because this game is one of my favorites, but I just feel aimless when playing now, I've never felt this before in my 5 or 6 years of playing. I want to play, but I don't know what to do. maybe I've just done a majority of it all. I don't really know... I wish I knew what I could say that would help the devs change, but I don't really know. I'm concerned that my lust for content is gonna drive the devs into releasing worse content, is it me or is it the devs? i don't know
First grapple thing in gaming history to not have a fcking guide... Scout from DRG has a hud crosshair indicating, as well as Pathfinder from Apex. Paladins has a simple X or Arrows to tell you if you reach or not at the surface you are aiming. Rare pls...
I’ve not played sea of thieves for months it was awesome but please ignore the reviews Skull and bones sinks this to the bottom of the sea and year 2 is on its way and it’s gonna get better☠️
@@cheesefamine But in the context of sot the "tools" you had were 3 guns and emotes for 5 years. so adding more types of weapons with more mechanics then shoot bullet is a massive change.
TBH Capt. they are telling the community that they are working on "game health and stability" since ever. I believe it when I see it. Show don't tell... So untill magically with S15 the game runs smooth, or at least smoother, I call bullshit and all your clips are prolly going straight to the bin
Honestly, I think it's a dead game. The player count must be shrinking each week? It's probably time to put this aside and focus on a SOT2 (on a new tech stack) and drop old hardware support. I'd love to see cosmetics and progress carry across where possible.
so after sea of thieves developers played assasin creed they said why not our game be like this? so they release s14 and they definitely ruined the game with bugs even if they had big budgets to spend
Ok, but I need them to compress their game. I don’t care how they do it, I’m just requesting that to be done. 113 GB is unreasonable and not nearly worth it, since the primary substance of the game is pvp. I have a 2 TB external hard drive and even then I don’t want to bother committing to that storage.

ABSOLUTELY. An entire game mode is unplayable and the anti-cheat doesn’t work. We need a new, better anti cheat.
Wholeheartedly agreed
Especially with the bone caller exploit which pretty much ruined me and my friend whole community weekend
Lol you're retarded. The cheaters are nonexistent.
The exploit abusers are the problem with hourglass, now that the cheaters are gone.
Take a shot for everytime falcore has muttered the phrase "Things will get better" and "Rare is targeting game performance" in each of his videos
I would just like them to fix everything before they add anything else.
Just for the game to run properly would be the best gift they could give
Any time a player spawns onto their ship, the entire game chugs.
Normally you’d hear the sound of their weapon to indicate they’ve returned, but instead the game struggles.
You had covid? That sucks as I know from personal experience. I'm glad you are back to good health.
I wish Sea of Thieves added an island or a cave, what you could buy so you could take your basic loot , and save it there so you don’t need to sell it before you log out, But if someone can see you, you can’t just go to your desk and press go to my island or cave, you’ll have to run or attack them, you could invite your friends to go to you’re island, cave by giving them a map, You could have some setting’s so your friends could get your loot and sell it for you ?
exactly one reason why I don't play right now and I seriously just bought the game.
what you talked about needs to be implemented into the game I'm surprised this wasn't added at the beginning.
I maintain the view that the mimic dart is a stupid addition to the game, especially given how swell the rest of the “update” has gone lol
NOTE: I don’t have a clip or any other proof, but this is for general information.
if you open a menu like for skull of siren song or even a barrel, it should fix this
dying or using a mermaid also works
It takes a day to find someone in the seas to do commendations with. You can nearly 100% all of the commendations for cosmetics in a day and you quit because you’re lazy???
@@Quiet_-ds2lf Not true. Like, at all.
Completing the Mischief Maker commendations is doable in a day, theoretically anyway. But all of the commendations you need for the chests? Not even fucking close.

Nope. They told me follow socials to see any info on that. I was able to buy 2 disguises but not equip them but others still locked.
And I thought that ship stuttering was my horrible german Internet
Sadly this isn't a problem for us Germans alone
I honestly think Mimic darts might end up being tossed out down the road.
Someone brought up a good point that worries me a little that the mimic darts could potentially help hackers get other people banned or even hide them from being reported.
I wont lie, when I was reading about this is did make me worried, just hope Rare thought of something to fight this if it was to happen.
It would never matter anyway because the only people Rare actually ban are people that piss off their partnered influencers - not any actual hackers.
Do you not have to be a PL to have a captained ship? Did that change or am i just remembering wrong?
Were we supposed to make the mischief or are the devs supposed to. This update title is misleading
I'd say the entire delivery of this mess rings true to the title.
2:24 LMAOO you got him
Safer Seas should be allowed for solos to enjoy a good bit of the content sure, but I agree that captaincy should be allowed at least, and still to restrict emissary flags, though that odd number is kinda dumb, 20 is better.
I know this might be a bad idea but rare should really patch out the bonecaller glitch.
The first note had me thinking I fat lingered the wrong video. I know halo when I hear it
Why am I the only person who freaking adores the grapple gun? That thing is great.
@@pdxcorgidad the range is shit, you can’t board with it, it has no combat capability or movement since I can’t hit the tree 10 feet away from me
@cheesefamine Definitely valid reasonings.
@ yeah it’s a shame too with what they showed off
@cheesefamine Who knows, maybe they'll add more to it. If I could quick swap between that and the blunder, omg instant death to anybody I harpoon.
@@DenissIvanovs we had to go through that for 4 years and no one complained, you are just too babied by captained ships nowadays
@cheesefamine you still made no rational argument against mine. There is no justification and it just sucks, your argument is purely emotional. 😛

Bugs in new updates huh, only if we had a beta brach server to test things out before launch, like a insider client or something
I'm not 100% convinced this will happen but knowing how buggy EVERYTHING is I wouldn't't put it past them
I will say I exclusively use a cutlass + grappling gun now, the guns have been useless for awhile now and I like moving around a bit easier.

Boy, if I hadn't already bought the season pass for this season.. I might have just straight up given up on SoT at this point.. next season though.. I'm really not sure.
Next season will be really good if they get it right, I'm an insider and they're adding something the community has wanted for a long time. I only hope they don't fuck it up.
Oh I've vaguely aware of what they're adding as I'm also part of the program but I'm not holding my breath right now.
Can we have a spin off series starring Opinion Derek?
I posted a video on the dc how do I win the sails?
Covid-24. It Was Updated. New fixes was released
I said it a few months ago when safer seas released and I’ll say it again: Creeping Normality. Many tiny changes over a large period of time so everyone can forget anything ever changed. And, oh yeah, not freak out and end the game.
Mimicing skeletons and ghosts sounds fun ngl
@@DakumunDahBat I think they should remove safer seas
Please make it possible to use captained ship in safer seas, it is painful to sell loot there one by one 😭
@@annaivanova1761 I had to sell loot the normal way for 4 years, you got weak hands boy
I have hope the game can recover but its diminishing more and more
i been out of the loop for the season as mocks
Man I don't even wanna get Season 15🤦♂️ Rare can't stop fumbling.
this season has really punted me in the ground, honestly, the last season as well, but much less so. I'm concerned that my lust for content is gonna drive the devs into releasing worse content, is it me or is it the devs? i don't know
I see i made the correct decision leaving when i did
Devs so tired trying to fix the game they going the alternative route and just trying to kill it lol
I would love to have one single skeleton crew mate as a solo reaper reward that respawns at the same rate as players.

so after sea of thieves developers played assasin creed they said why not our game be like this? so they release s14 and they definitely ruined the game with bugs even if they had big budgets to spend
