My dad took me to see Louie while we were in Las Vegas, maybe 1990 or so. He had a bit on toilet paper that went on so long, I’ve never laughed so hard in my life. Dad and I both just about died, our faces hurt from all the muscles cramping. Now I miss both Dad and Louie.
I remember one of the first shows of his that I saw was the bit about flippin’ burgers or selling drugs, you know making two bucks an hour or thousands, and he made it hilarious! He’s so gifted!
Notice when Johnny asked Louie how much he weighed. Louie told him, and there was discussion - just good honest discussion between friends. Notice also how the audience reacted. They all were just glad to be able to spend time with Carson and whomever he was sharing the moment with. Some things were definitely simpler, and I believe better, back then.
he's really good. A natural. He'll sometimes go on about things I have no clue about, too American I guess as opposed to other American comedians who are more universally understandable, but he's damn good.
Ed McMahon was 6'3. Louie standing next to him 04:13 appears to be only a few inches shorter. Louie said people who met him in person are always surprised how tall he is. I wonder why they keep listing his height as 5'7 or 5'6 on websites? He's clearly taller than that.
6:12 One of "Johnny's" many nervous ticks or gestures i.e. middle finger - point to the forehead for the fake scratch routine.... it's either that or he's sub-consciously revealing the true depth of his disdain for the 'St. Paul Winter Carnival' and/or anything Minnesota Winter Weather related

When Louie got to heaven the other day I bet Johnny waved him over to hang with the other comics: "Hey Louie! Nice to see ya, come over"✌️😎 #RIPLouie
It's cute to imagine people being exactly who they are forever in an imaginary land, isn't it? It's also ridiculous.
I just finished binge watching Baskets on Hulu and Christine is probably my favorite character,Louie plays her like we all know a women like that
One of the best shows of all time
I loved his appearances on Johnny Carson :) thanks, Louie... for making us laugh. RIP
He is alright. Funny yet smooth. Not over-the-top silly or raunchy. Just a fresh blend of comedy. Me likes.
Thanks for all the Laughs Louie, RIP

He was great. He'll be missed.
"I'm $400 up the first day!" That was a golden line to go out on.
And just a month after this comment, he was gone. Rest in piece, Louie! Say "Hi" to Norm, Bob, and Betty for us.

His stand-up routines were really hit or miss. He’s either hysterical or I never even crack a smile.
All comics aren't for everyone. So I'm sure you have ones you like better.
I never found Robin Williams that funny. But I loved him as an actor.
Louis = class, and funny!

Real comedy. Rare nowadays.

May Louie Rest Eternally in Peace
Johnny loved Louie. Easy to talk to very conversatiinal
He wasn't so big compared to people now
Thanks for the laughs !
Gee, I didn't know Louie changed his name to Lois for this one appearance and then immediately changed it back to Louie.
It's LOUIE. And this was probably around 1988.

Wow that Cuomo bit didn’t age well😂
Andrew Cuomo's dad, Mario, was also governor.
