  • Not too bad, but maybe not great either… 🤷‍♂️

That’s a nice little lathe. What brand is it??

Dude you know it’s a Chinese lathe with some English stickers on the cover 😄 - only complaint so far is that it’s hard to keep the main rail guides adjusted so that it’s smooth enough for the feed to work but tight enough so there’s no slop. Still learning I guess 🤷‍♂️

Great work Wade! I actually prefer the post conversion rear look of your TOM SE. However, that excessive dog bone movement reminds me of the infamous “floating flybar” rotor head design of China-brand RC helicopters, where one side of the vertical slot retaining the flybar, would become curvy due to the flybar rubbing against it at high RPM. Perhaps, I’m over thinking this as there are no weights at the pin-ends of the dog bone unlike the flybar. Looking forward to your outdoor drive video.

Thanks T I bet it would be awesome if you could watch what the dogbone is actually doing at speed and under load it’s probably dancing & bending like crazy! Not to mention the arm & chassis flex right?? They might stay in with how I drive but I suspect they’d pop out pretty easily - we shall see 😃

I ran the Platinum shocks in my Big Brute and they seemed to work good in it... but of course it was heavier. Do you need some softer springs for it? I think I have some that came with my Platinum shocks and I could send you the softest set I have.

Thanks man but I think they’ll be alright - more than likely I’ll only run it once anyways 🤷‍♂️ I know they’re good shocks, it feels better now that there’s a battery in there and it’s loaded down 👍

Was wondering if you had an older Kyosho Optima Mid? I would like to see a video that goes over the rear transmission. A stock direct drive compared to a slipper clutch. And if you can change over to a slipper clutch?

James unfortunately this is the oldest mid I currently have but I do recall there being some differences in that rear gearbox with a roller/pulley or something like that? Been a long time since I had an original mid. As far as direct drive vs slipper units I’ve not ever changed one out for the other but if I get my hands on an old mid I will definitely see what I can do!

I had a monster horsepower in my Blackfoot back in the day. It flew with that motor

Those servos are good, I use em in all my vintage style builds .

Right on! Seems like every time I think I bought enough servos I’m still a couple short, now I’m out of esc’s 😄

I was honestly a little surprised it went so smooth I just knew there was gonna be a gotcha or some modding necessary but it went smoothly! Just don’t know if it’s any better or worse 😂

@@wadeskelton7585 supposed to be great for really bumpy tracks, back then the tracks where acctually off road. Not the flat carpet tracks of today 😡
