Welcome to Dumb Teaching Decisions. Before JG7 breaks down what happened here, this episode is about taking an in-depth look at a teaching decision that was clearly awful from the start. This isn't something that looked bad in hindsight. Rather, this is something that looked awful almost immediately. This is a move where your gut instinct tells you right away that there is no way this could possibly work. And sure enough, your gut instinct was smarter than that of a teacher. And for this one, we are looking at a mind of a 47 year old Japanese teacher and baseball fan...
The WBC pulling huge numbers in Japan doesn't surprise me. The Koshien tournaments are *high school* national baseball championships and 50,000 people show up in person to watch and all the games get broadcast live on TV and radio.
As a major fan of Japanese wrestling, I can totally relate. On Tuesday morning, I stayed up until 4am Sonoran time to watch the finals of the New Japan Cup.
I teach Intro to Philosophy and I once lectured while I had a live Yankees/Astros playoff game on the classroom computer facing me...and I'm a Mets fan 😂
Japanese baseball games are fun. People are cheering and chanting like it's an American football game. I highly recommend attending one if you ever get the chance.
Fan Theory: It was a test within a test. A test to see if the students could still concentrate on their exam while being distracted by the teacher. Builds character. 😅
This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 7/9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about Vin Scully, ahem, unofficially calling a Dodgers game while he was at the site of an NFL game in Anaheim due to the crowd noise being incongruous with the Rams game but consistent with what was happening at Chavez Ravine.
Maybe getting all my schooling (including college) out of the way before streaming became ubiquitous was a good thing, IDK. I don't recall missing men's March Madness games due to exams/tests, though. I'm not sure what that Japanese teacher was thinking.
Does this make today the first Dumb Decision on JG7? Also talk about having every opportunity to not mess up and making the wrong choice every time. I wouldn't be surprised if he cracked open a cold one during the game too.
I remember watching the final minutes of the inaugural match of the 2010 World Cup between South Africa and Mexico in middle school. The Spanish language class was hosting it, and invited any Mexico fans who wanted to watch. In high school, we were also sometimes allowed to watch March Madness in the technical classes.
Japan during Tokyo 2020 Olympics Japan won gold in both Softball and Baseball. Which is the biggest sport in Japan and they won gold as a host nation. It's like Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics hockey finals where my country won gold in both the mens and women's ice hockey tournaments (its called ice hockey international) where in the men's finals were I was playing a game of hockey house league and people where in all in the lobby watching the game it shows how big hockey is in my country and how it's impossible to escape. I dropped the sport since I just found out that it was not my sport
The scores on that test might have been worse than if they did nothing but spike the ball into the ground on every single play

The first DD on this channel, and it's not even about a manager.
This video going to Cooperstown

Yeah Japan's love for baseball makes America's, even at its peak, look like we're "gathering" for a WNBA game lol
This channel is your best one. Keep it up.

I had a high school teacher who was a Chicago Cubs fan and would watch the games on his computer during class

I'm really enjoying your baseball content bro. Let's hope tonight's game lives up to the hype.
Nice Dumb Decisions segue.
Without question Japan loves baseball more than America does, and we invented the damn sport.
This is another crazy story from the files of wow lol
If this ever happened in the US, the teacher would’ve been fired
You underestimate the NEA.
Who would have thought the title game would have an arguably more memorable ending than the semifinal?
Lmao Japan crushing USA right now
Opposite of ww2

In Mexico is it called football or soccer but it's no surprise that your country ia really into that sport
@@maplemiles3381 It's called futbol there. Also, I wasn't born in Mexico, but my parents were.
Dude, great topics, but you take way, way too long to make a point. It’s agonizing.
Explaining what grade your exams matter 🤦♂️

I actually won’t be able to watch tonight due to other plans. I should be able to see the end
Was the dudes name Knight Ridder? Thats a pretty bad a$$ name just saying
Knight Ridder was a media company that owned a bunch of newspapers and TV Stations. They also syndicated some of their news reports.
Randy Arozarena the GOAT.
Yep he should be in the MLB. What a fun guy to watch.
Did this warrant a video?
The WBC is kind of cool but the only people that care are outside of America so in reality it means nothing.
