This is the best tutorial for this particular Keurig, that I've seen so far. You are the only one I've seen, that shows how to clean the whole thing, and when to use the Keurig Rinse Pod. Thanks, I would give two thumbs up, if I could.
My Keurig just stopped working out of nowhere. Lights would flash allowing me to choose what I wanted but then it would just power down. Following this video I got it started again. I had NO IDEA it needed to be descaled since I’ve only owned it 2 months. Nowhere in the owners manual or troubleshooting sites online did it give me any idea what was happening to my brand new machine. A million thanks to you, Kelvin, because I was literally going to toss it in the garbage thinking it was defective!! ❤️❤️❤️
I have a question for you: Firstly thank you for this video… very helpful. My question is: when you took the funnel out of the machine (where the pods are placed), the piece that holds the funnel… is there an easy way of cleaning that. I have coffee residue in there (a lot of it)…. any insight?
Excellent video the only thing I would do differently is clean the holes where the needle goes through where you use the paperclip, I would do that before the Descaling session.
I couldn’t agree more! They give ZERO information on how to descale. Mine even has a descale light which never went on no matter what I tried. This video fixed my machine!
Thank you for your helpful video. I was frustrated by the lack of help on Keurig's own website. I have owned multiple Keurig coffee brewers over the years since they first appeared.
Anybody else have issues with their “Add Water” and “Descale” lights NOT turning on when they need to? I’m descaling mine right now and now that it has “brewed” the solution and water, “Add Water” light doesn’t turn on and the reservoir is empty.
Keurig needs to rethink these machines and come up with a special brewing cycle for powder drinks like coco & cappuccino. Always find some coco that wasn't dissolved left in the cup and Victor Allen cappuccino shuts my machine down every time. I think the water doesn't penetrate the powder fast enought and backs up into the machine shuts it down. Takes few resets to buy time enought for power to dissolve enough for pod to work like it should.
Interesting - yea my mom uses my Keurig for her hot chocolate pods and sometimes she has said of a similar issue that the brewing process didn't dissolve all of the powder in the pod. Not sure why that happens.
I just open the pods now and pour the powder into cup before using Keurig for hot water. Do the same with instant oatmeal just use some french vanilla creamer first.
Do EXACTLY as he says... including the unplugging and removal of the filter tower inside. Mine was doing the exact thing. Lights would light up but it would power down. Plz follow his instructions exactly. If this doesn’t work I’d contact the company.
Per Keurig - "Descaling is an important part of cleaning your Keurig brewer. This process removes calcium deposits, or scale, that can build up inside a coffee maker over time. Calcium and scale are non-toxic, but left unattended, they can hinder your brewer's performance." (www.keurig.com/descale)
I own the one sold exclusively by Walmart which bought just for coco. Don't care about programmable stuff its the strong setting that has my interest. Some coco like swiss miss clumps in the cups so figured slower water delivery would help melting it all down
Thanks Mike! To be honest, I rarely change the water filter - I think the last time I changed it was when I did the cleaning the Keurig video back at the end of May haha - I also just use tap water - where I live the tap water tastes just fine to me. Good on ya though for saving that extra dough 😊
I use the charcoal filtered water from my refrigerator, which is then filtered a second time by the charcoal filter in the Keurig water tank. Did that for 5 1/2 years on our old 2.0 machine, and only ever descaled it once in that time, and that was just for the heck of it, not because it actually needed it. Only reason I retired it was because it randomly started going brain dead, necessating a complete power off reboot each time.
Rinsing the filter housing with tap water? Soaked "filter" in tap water lol #putting hand in cup to remove filter, could have dumped the water. Oh man. Gotta take a bit more care lol
Ok good video but holy smoke what a lot of water you use to clean with. These brewing machines use a lot of water and the standard pods are not recycled or biodegradable. Don't get me wrong I like my kurig but these are bad for the environment for sure. Sometimes I use a coffee press. That gets cleaned in the dish washer so it's water is used by many things and a lot less than you used. I wish manufacturers would spend a little time looking at the impact of the products. Also when you factor in your time and the water to clean these machines. The price per cup goes up a fair bit. But thats the trade of for convenience.
Joshricker3339: What a shallow remark. We are super grateful to creator for making this video....100 times over. It is excellent. Pls don't come back to this channel. Go somewhere where your input is embraced as worthy. It is NOT worthy to any of us.

Hey Jaklyn - That's odd that you had trouble with it so soon after purchasing it but glad it's back to working order! :)
That bird chirping in the background is so calming .... great video overall
Glad to hear it, thank you Bakshleen Kaur :)

I'm also needing to do that. I'm trying to figure out a way to disasemble it for total cleaning.
Best video I’ve watched for cleaning this particular Keurig. Thank you 🙏🏻😊
you're welcome. thank you :)
I’m doing this right now. I just set my 30 minute timer. Love your channel and the gentle way you walk us through this! Thank you 🙏
Hey Pinkmoontribe Pammy! Glad to hear! You're welcome - enjoy the clean and happy Keurig afterwards! 😊
I did a Hot water rinse on mine I think that will also help on cleaning the needle only a guess
Excellent video the only thing I would do differently is clean the holes where the needle goes through where you use the paperclip, I would do that before the Descaling session.
Thank you! Yea now that you bring that up, that is a good idea!
Why the descal light never on
You are a life saver🙏🏻Thank you so much for a great video. It’s a shame that Keurig couldn’t do as well.🥴
Glad to hear it! you're welcome :)
I couldn’t agree more! They give ZERO information on how to descale. Mine even has a descale light which never went on no matter what I tried. This video fixed my machine!
Agree!!!!!
Thank you very much! I didn’t even know where or how to start😓 Super helpful video!!

Thank you for your helpful video. I was frustrated by the lack of help on Keurig's own website. I have owned multiple Keurig coffee brewers over the years since they first appeared.

Super! Very simple and your explanation super clear - Thanks!
you're welcome Jacy!
can you show how to reset this keurig bc mine turns on then off right away
Is there any proof that this actually does anything? Like did you see any crap coming out? ty
The water is not coming through on my Keurig ....I have cleaned the pod .....holder( it was very dirty ) is there anyway I can clean the needle???
Best video...the only one I follow.

Me too, it did that????

Is it supposed to be 4 rubber tips on the bottom of the machine?
Very detailed 👍🏽 thank you.
You're welcome!
Can you use the Keurig HOT descaling solution also?
You didn't use the rinse pod?!
Lmao.
Mine just stops and shuts off every time you try to make coffee
mine starts and stops b4 water runs through i completed the entire descaling proces... still cant make a cup of coffee.......any thoughts?

This helped me so much!! Thank you😊
You’re welcome Paulette!
I use purified water... Would it still build up calcium, etc?
You didn't turn the Descaler "On"...
Thank you so much, your video helped me a lot!
You're welcome!
Thank you 👍👍👍👍
you're welcome :)
How often do you descale it and how often do you change the filter
Every 3-6 months :)
Thank you!
you're welcome :)
I have a SUPER TIP: you do not need to buy the expensive scale cleaner...white vinegar does the SAME job for much cheaper. 😁
How much vinegar should you use?
@@g0rewh0re98 I read somewhere that said it was 50/50, and then somewhere else said 2 to 1 water/vinegar, and somewhere else still that stated 3 to 1.
Thanks! This was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
What is the descale button for?
Per Keurig - "Descaling is an important part of cleaning your Keurig brewer. This process removes calcium deposits, or scale, that can build up inside a coffee maker over time. Calcium and scale are non-toxic, but left unattended, they can hinder your brewer's performance." (www.keurig.com/descale)
For De-Scaling Duh..smh
What about the descale button?
There is no descale button. Only descale light.
@@PhearaXT I did not see the descale "light" come on. Which begs a question if the process is really descaling or just pumping water?
You should do this process every other day because after using the machine many bad bacteria growing up in the machine.
Why was the Keurig unplugged? lol anyone catch that?
I read reviews this statrs brewing hot water on its own and doesn't stop until it empties, have you had this problem
Hey KingLord, I've never had that problem.
I own the one sold exclusively by Walmart which bought just for coco. Don't care about programmable stuff its the strong setting that has my interest. Some coco like swiss miss clumps in the cups so figured slower water delivery would help melting it all down
Does descale solution gets rid of mold, bacteria, and other dirty stuff?
Pheara Lim yes it does .
Good video but it has alot less problems using botttled water in the gallons then u can not have to buy filters every 2-3 months .
Thanks Mike! To be honest, I rarely change the water filter - I think the last time I changed it was when I did the cleaning the Keurig video back at the end of May haha - I also just use tap water - where I live the tap water tastes just fine to me. Good on ya though for saving that extra dough 😊

I'm having the same problem Storm Wolf.
Did you ever get yours to come loose, and if so, how did you do it?
This doesn’t show the actual descale setting
You are supposed to ise filtered water.
I loved you in breaking bad. Amazing you lost those annoying crutches too.

Hey Simon - Thanks for a lengthly comment - you do have good points so I definitely understand what you mean.
Please don't post any more videos of how to do something. Anyone can read the instructions.
shut up
