Now that you mention it… all the times Majima dropped the “mad dog” act throughout the franchise Kiryu was not there to see. The closest was in 6, but there was no way he could be the mad dog when Kiryu was so worked up over finding Haruka, so I guess Kiryu must’ve chalked it to him being polite.
By what the Infinite Wealth Story trailer shows, he's gonna get to see the real Majima

It's actually really interesting how Kiryu probably has no idea how much he does for Majima just by going along with his antics and fighting him.
You can see how much Majima missed his sworn brother Saijima in Yakuza 0, so Kiryu coming in to fill that brotherly void Saijima left behind definitely helped Majima in a dark time in his life. So now Majima pays him back by stalking him in trash cans and excepting invites to go to karaoke.
Considering he absolutely kills it every time on the karaoke machine, he gets lots of invites from my Kiryu. 😂
So, Majima is basically the Roman Bellic of Yakuza 0 and constantly invites you to go to karaoke?
@@k.r.99 He doesn't invite you, you have to invite him. Or if you're playing as Majima, you can invite Kiryu. In that sense it works.

Okay but hear me out. An online co-op beat-em-up where you and up to 3 others play as Kiryu, Majima, Ichiban, and Saejima(As an example) You play it as a single semi-linear campaign, and each pairing of characters has cinematic dual attacks. Adding or removing players alters the fake difficulty, the host can set the AI difficulty.
It wouldn't be easy, but if done right I think it would make the fans explode.

@@darklord884 His partner had an abortion without telling him iirc. Not actual child killed but still a very sad loss because he wanted to be a dad. I haven't played the game in which that happens myself, and he did slap his partner in it after finding out about the abortion. But from what I've heard the game just pretends that never happened and covers it up in sequels.

Do you mean where they're both doing disco in Yakuza 0? I'm pretty sure that's the minigame multiplayer mode for Disco. Me and my friends played it a month ago on PS4.
@@zkdelta8014 Yes, if you go to 2 Player vs Minigame in the main menu of the game, you will automatically have P1 as Kiryu and P2 as Majima.
I havent played any yakuza game yet, so Imma interpret this relationship as a much well written version of those hero x villains ships every fandom has.
It's sort of a Batman/Joker relationship but if Joker was less mean-spirited and Batman secretly loved all the attention.

The best part about Yakuza 0 is slowly realising its actually Majima's origin story, not Kiryu's, and Kiryu is only in it to justify minor story lore details and half the new substories for Kiwami 1 and 2.

My wife and I are still convinced that y0 was supposed to be a Majima game but they weren't confident enough in a game without kiryu so they added his section in. Kiryu's segments were relatively forgettable but Majima's had the best parts.
Apparently Gaiden did well enough for them to consider doing more small entries between mainline games so maybe Majima will get the entry he deserves.

I dunno, Tachibana's scenes were really awesome for me. Kiryu himself was mostly being guided along by Tachibana, then he fails to save Tachibana and we get to see him grow into a Yakuza. I think it was really neat.

This is just Yakuza 0 majima versus the rest of the series. It's clearly shown that he still acts like a clown when it's just his subordinates.
Ehh the serious side comes up a lot through the series, and by 5 he’s all but abandoned the silly
Didn't know that Majima had all these events. Just knew him being a trash can stalker
Majima failed to aid his sworn brother Saejima at taking down a rival clan of Tojo in 1984, lost his eye and was eventually exiled from Tojo for years and eventually failed to protect Saejima's sister. Later in 1988 when he was willing to do whatever it takes to get back in Tojo, he was ordered to execute an innocent girl but Majima eventually felt in love with her. When the Dojima family shot her, Majima single handedly trashed the Dojima family. Finally he distanced himself from her to ensure her safety.
Later Majima married a woman but the woman aborted their child for her own ambitions which led Majima divorcing her and mourning for his lost child.
After all this happened, Kiryu was one of the few persons Majima was comfortable with.
