I’m 6’3 and my friends/family are about half a foot shorter. I usually one-arm hug, but I’m told it’s too casual in some cases. I find that bending the knees can be really awkward too. I think hugging between two people is honestly just incompatible in some cases, unless you’re a couple/married.

One benefit of having really long arms is that you can hug multiple people at once. I'm 6' 6'' and recently met a family at an airport. Hugging all of them? No problem, I need to bend down a bit but my arms can certainly reach around them.

I'm 6'8 so I normally squad to a comfortable height. It depends on the hug, if the person wants to embrace the hug longer than a minute I will squad to a height we both are comfortable and trying for the person I'm hugging to get in my chest rather than my boobs hahaha. I always thought I was doing it wrong,
