- If you want to see red-hot Olivia Rodrigo this summer, get ready to dig deep into your pockets for $963. Concert tickets are at a record high this summer. Even seats in the rafters could still cost around $100 or more. Jennifer Lopez canceled her entire concert tour this summer. She claims she needs to focus on her family. However, others pointed out that her fans didn't seem to want to shell out big bucks to see her live. Inside Edition's Les Trent has more.

I saw My favorite band in 2012 with a $40 general admission floor ticket. Now they’re touring with blink 182 and a GA floor ticket costs literally $700. Seven hundred dollars. I wish I was joking 😭😭😭

Only went to 1 concert got the meet and greet for a band…The fact that said meet and greet was like 3 seconds long for the amount me and others paid. I refuse to go to live concerts.

No one makes money off of just music anymore. So musicians/labels hike up the prices on concerts bc that is where the real money is.
Back in the 70s, I attended around 150 concerts, from Aerosmith (yuck), to the Eagles, the Doobie Brothers, Clapton, Elton John, etc, for $15 a ticket. Then you could buy tickets from the venue, instead of Ticketmaster. Recently, the Doobie Brothers cost me over $300, but I LOVE their music, and that’s all that matters. Luckily, I saw that band around 30 times over 50 years, so the price kinda averaged out. Saw The Rolling Stones Steel Wheels Tour in 1989 for $28.50 a TICKET. HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES , KIDS ? 😂😂 Btw, my memory is spot on, because I have all my ticket stubs 😂😂
Pearl Jam, at #5. How things change. I remember back in the 90’s when they were battling Ticketmaster’s monopoly because they didn’t want their fans to be price gouged in order to see them. I remember seeing them the first time they came to Australia in 1995, at the height of their popularity. The tickets were $42 Australian Dollars each. Floor seats about 1/3rd of the way back from the stage.

Paid 300 bucks to see Pink with my bestie and it was horrible. The sound system failed so it was turned off. You would think we would have gotten a refund or a remake. Nope. They were rafter tickets. 300 bucks for rafter tickets.
My parents go off about this all the time 😂cause they would go to so many concerts back in the 80s/90s and tickets for good seats would be like $30.

It’s because people make money on YT by streaming, photos, vids, etc.
They have to pay for all those dancers and the different set designs, plus all the employees that set up, move, and take down those sets. There was a time when musicians could just get on stage and sing, but at some point they got criticized for just sitting there and singing, and not entertaining the crowd by dancing, etc. If they went back to just getting on stage and singing, without all the entertainment brouhaha, the tickets could be more affordable again.
depending on who the artist is I’m still willing to pay $150 for front row anything over that without a VIP package is just not worth it to me no matter how long I’ve been waiting to see the artist.

I don't go to concerts to see fancy fireworks and weird costumes and special effects. I just go to hear some good music. Maybe I'm missing the point of having a good time, but I don't care about the expensive showy stuff.

In 2023 I paid so much for a Tate McRae concert, it's outrageous. She sings a lot of breakup songs and it still gets to me that I paid so much for almost being thrown out.
