    As someone which has been suffering with nasal congestion for 5 years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm only 23 and I've done literally everything you could think of to relieve this hell. The Buteyko method you've taught me has been the first thing in my entire life which has actually helped without being some type of over the counter or steroidal spray. None of which I'm interested in using.
    You've literally saved my life from remaining a living hell for the rest of my life. Thank God that I at least found this when I'm still young. You've literally changed a young mans life forever, I don't know your name, but I'm forever thankful.

      Also can try keto or carnivore diet. It will reduce inflammation and breathing will be better.

    I'll give this a go. Nothing to lose as been suffering nasal polyps for 14 years, 5 surgeries and they are still here. Of course the NHS never consider the underlying condition. I can live without the sense of smell, but not being able to breathe properly is a nightmare.

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  9 місяців тому +2

      That is a very tough @Panzerbeast and can't be easy.
      We have had clients report significant reductions in polyps one they made the change to full time nasal breathing.
      It would take time with daily functional breathing practice but learning functional breathing could be of huge benefit to you.

    This is great. It seems to work even without jogging. Breathing through your nose is easier the less blocked your nostrils are.

    the thing is this only works for a while, and after exercising, it takes longer for me to calm down and fall asleep than it is for the nose to be blocked again

      Breathe through the nose, eat healthy, don't drink alcohol and exercise daily.
      These have definitely helped.

    Should I just wait for the air hunger or put pressure breathing out while holding my nose to speed up the air hunger??

    I’m loving your book Patrick thank you - but recently doctors discovered polyps in nose and operating soon so I struggle to breathe through nose - what are your thoughts?

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  9 місяців тому

      Try and persist with learning functional nose breathing @MrKelso85
      We have had many clients report reduction in polyps after they switched to full time nasal breathing.
      But even if you have to have surgical intervention, nose breathing will help keep polyps returning and will help with recovery.

    This really worked, but my nose kept getting blocked again within seconds.

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  4 місяці тому +3

      Breathing through the mouth will cause the nose to block again @Zero-Investing.
      Make sure to keep nose breathing after the blockage has cleared or it will likely become blocked again.

    Is it safe to do this as many times a day as you need?

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  9 місяців тому +3

      It's perfectly safe @jayb2175.
      If you can, try to bring attention onto your breathing and try to breathe through your nose more throughout the day, this will lessen the need for multiple nose unblocking exercises.
      Learning functional breathing exercises will be a huge benefit to you if a regularly blocking nose is a problem.

    Only temporary though. Doesn't do anything long term

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  Рік тому +16

      Perform this exercise each time that your nose becomes blocked. Even if you have a cold, make sure to breathe through your nose. You may think you can’t clear your nose when you have a heavy cold, but you can.
      Holding the breath traps additional carbon dioxide which has been produced from the physical activity involved in moving the muscles. It is quite common for the nose to become blocked again shortly after doing this exercise. This is because the underlying breathing has not been changed and the body has not become accustomed to the increased carbon dioxide level. However, after some time, and with regular practice of breathing exercises, the body will adapt to a higher level of carbon dioxide and the nose will remain unblocked.

    Air hunger… you mean suffocation?

    • @OxygenAdvantage
      @OxygenAdvantage  10 місяців тому +2

      Very close @KyrosLazy,
      When we do breath holds, the feeling of air hunger can cause a strong feeling of suffocation, especially in people prone to anxiety or panic disorder.
      That is why breath holds are not for everyone. We do not advise breath holds for those prone to anxiety or panic disorder, those pregnant or those with a serious medical condition.
      While breath hold techniques are hugely beneficial, the feeling of suffocation that some people experience can be worse than the potential benefits, even putting them into panic attacks.
      In these cases we stay away from breath hold exercises, advise people to start slow and use breathe light exercises to work on building up CO2 tolerance.
      Light breathing exercises are just some of the huge selection of exercises available on the free Oxygen Advantage breathing app.
