  • If you are suffering with prostate problems, THIS test you need to have run to help you address a possible root cause of your inflamed prostate. Sadly, your doctor is not routinely testing your cortisol levels as many do not even acknowledge the role of cortisol on prostate imbalances. In this in-depth discussion, we will explore the intricate relationship between cortisol, the primary stress hormone, and prostate health.

    Lets talk about the significance of the saliva cortisol test as the most crucial assessment for detecting and monitoring prostate problems. Prostate issues, such as prostate cancer and prostatitis, affect millions of men worldwide, and early detection plays a pivotal role in successful management and treatment.
    The saliva cortisol test, a non-invasive and easily accessible diagnostic tool, measures the levels of cortisol, the primary stress hormone, in an individual's saliva. Cortisol levels can provide valuable insights into the overall health of the prostate gland, as well as the impact of stress on its functioning. Abnormal cortisol levels may indicate underlying prostate issues.
    Cortisol is a hormone released by the adrenal glands in response to stress. While cortisol plays a vital role in the body's stress response, prolonged or chronic elevation of cortisol levels can have detrimental effects on various physiological systems, including the prostate gland.
    Research suggests that cortisol imbalances may contribute to prostate imbalances and potentially increase the risk of prostate-related issues. Elevated cortisol levels have been associated with prostate inflammation, enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH), and even prostate cancer progression.
    Cortisol's impact on the prostate can be attributed to several factors.
    1. High cortisol levels can disrupt the delicate balance of hormones involved in prostate health, including testosterone and estrogen. Testosterone, the primary male sex hormone, is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which plays a role in prostate cell growth. Increased cortisol levels can lead to an imbalance in testosterone and DHT levels, potentially contributing to prostate enlargement.
    2. Chronic stress and high cortisol levels may affect the immune system's ability to regulate inflammation in the prostate. Inflammation is believed to play a significant role in the development of prostate issues.
    3. Cortisol can influence cellular processes and gene expression in prostate cells, potentially contributing to abnormal cell growth and the progression of prostate conditions.
    Understanding the role of cortisol on prostate imbalances is crucial for men's health. Managing stress levels, adopting stress reduction techniques, and implementing lifestyle changes that support healthy cortisol levels may contribute to maintaining prostate health.
    High levels of cortisol over an extended period can lead to chronic stress, which has been associated with a range of health issues in men. Elevated cortisol levels can disrupt sleep patterns, impair cognitive function, and weaken the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to infections and illnesses. Moreover, chronic stress and high cortisol levels have been linked to increased risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, and visceral fat accumulation.
    In addition to its impact on physical health, cortisol dysregulation can also affect mental well-being. Excessive cortisol levels have been associated with mood disorders, anxiety, and depression.

    Interesting video....I had not seen any literature on higher estrogen profiles in men with prostate cancer but I had heard of low progesterone profiles on men with prostate cancer, and that of course is influenced and reduced by raised cortisol (similar to the effect of estrogen dominance in breast issues in women). Would love your thoughts. Do you think there is any relation to high DHT levels in men with prostate cancer (again I see conflicting evidence on this). :-)

      Thank you for your interest in the video. It's fascinating to explore the various factors that may influence prostate health. While there's some research suggesting that low progesterone levels and raised cortisol could be linked to prostate cancer in men, the relationship with estrogen profiles is still a subject of ongoing investigation.
      Regarding DHT (dihydrotestosterone), it is a hormone that plays a role in prostate growth and development. Some studies have indicated a potential association between high DHT levels and prostate cancer risk, but the evidence is not conclusive and remains controversial.
      Prostate health is influenced by multiple factors, including hormonal balance, inflammation, lifestyle choices, and genetic predisposition.
      As our understanding of prostate health continues to evolve, it's crucial to keep an eye on reliable sources and engage in open discussions with healthcare providers. I hope this information helps, and I encourage you to continue exploring the latest research on this topic. If you have any specific concerns or questions, feel free to reach out.

      @@NaturalHealthResources yes thank you so much for your thoughts. Yes a bit like breast cancer and the influence of estrogen we don’t have all the answers. I’m assuming that there’s an elevation in Estrone as well as estradiol a more problematic estrogen potentially, and also perhaps decreased estrogen detoxification due to being overweight and also poor liver health

    Many men are overweight. I hear aromatase helps convert belly fat to estrogen. You Can measure estradiol and if elevated may contribute to BPH. Aside from exercising and losing weight, any suggestions on how to naturally decrease aromatase activity

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  11 місяців тому

      Hello @hondapilot,
      You are correct that aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen, and it can be found in higher amounts in belly fat. Elevated estradiol levels may indeed contribute to BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) in men.

    Do you treat prostate cancer patients? Would you still suggest hormone test after the surgery of prostate and radiotherapy?

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  10 місяців тому

      Yes, I do treat prostate cancer patients. After undergoing surgery and radiotherapy for prostate cancer, it's still advisable to monitor hormone levels through tests. Hormone levels can play a significant role in the recurrence and progression of prostate cancer. Regular hormone tests can help ensure that your hormone levels are within a healthy range and that any changes are addressed promptly. It's important to work closely with your medical team to determine the appropriate follow-up plan after treatment and to continue monitoring your health.

    Won't cortisol levels change from day to day? Will that affect accuracy? Is a weekday better than a weekend day?

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  11 місяців тому

      Hello @uriahthehittite1672,
      You are correct that cortisol levels can fluctuate throughout the day, which is entirely normal. These fluctuations are known as diurnal variations. When testing cortisol levels, it's essential to consider the time of day to get accurate results.
      Typically, cortisol levels are highest in the morning and gradually decrease throughout the day
