Huge help dude, even now in 2021
Actually waited to edit a series that I wanted to be something special, until you released a howtoeditvideos tutorial.
(I saw it in the comments during the shaft, and I looked forward to it)
And now I look forward to see some more! :)
I'm glad this help ya! It's those little details that really make the vocals pop.
To think of how many times I've edited audio over the years without knowing this! Arg! Cool though, I'd love to see more!
Thank you. This was extremely helpful. I transcribe digitally recorded voices in my day job. From now on, I'm going to put the audio into Sony Vegas and tweak it for best listening.
For my video production, nice to know that voice/music is easily mixed beyond simply adjusting volume.
I'm lovin this side of you Eric! This is the PERFECT time for me to start re-learning all this too since I'll be starting my own radio show/podcast through my university! Keep 'em comin please!
Also, I would love to see more tuts out of ya, you did a great job here. Very concise, easy to digest and understand.
Thanks for the techniques! I'll definitely be using them in my own videos, and I'll love to see more tutorials from you
I figured that's what you meant (I've done some very rudimentary Sony Acid mixing for an audio engineering / music creation class at college. Not my major [Game and Simulation Programming], but I do enjoy learning it).
This is the best tutorial I've ever watched. Can you please make a limiter video even though it's been 7 years 😅
Yes exactly, I wish I would have shown that in the tutorial. I would drag the second part of that song onto another track and then EQ that one differently. So basically it's one song split onto multiple tracks.
Was able to make all the same stuff in Adobe Premiere Pro. Now my video is awesome! Thanks!!
Here it is, my first tutorial, hope it's helpful.
What Buttom did you press? When you played them together?
BEST AUDIO TUTORIAL
Awesome job. This information can be taken to most if not all software that have audio EQ. For a first tutorial I am impressed.
Good stuff Mr. Fullerton! I was able to copy all this over into Final Cut X without a hitch! Keep up the good work :D
Wouw, thanks Eric!
Thanks to you I found Sony Vegas, and it rocks (like you videos).
This tutorial is realy usefull, keep them coming!
Amazing tutorial. So cool how sound editing works
It's neat how you can visually SEE the frequency changes on the tracks.
Thanks buddy this helped my audio editing a tonne. Glad you're starting tutorials, hope for more!
This was so good! Exactly what I needed! Putting your teachings to practice right now, hopefully have a cover song uploaded within a couple of days. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for this. I was skeptical at first but WOW! You can really tell the difference.
This was beyond helpful. Thank you so much for putting the effort into this.
cheers im hopefully getting a gaming pc soon and i am hoping to do machinimas this will defiantly help thanks again!
under rated, I LOVE this video
Thank you for this tutorial! Super helpful! GOD BLESS you more Bro!😇
Wow, what a fantastic tutorial! awesome job and ty
Thank uuu
I've been looking for this kind of tutorial for so long!
Brilliant!!... So helpful!.. Am really keen to explore the rest of your channel! :)
My god, you are a lifesaver. Thank you so much for this!
Wow, this is a really good tutorial. Nice and easy. Thanks dude ;)
Nice vídeo Eric, really accurate and very useful. Thanks!
This is a great tutorial. Thanks for uploading and I look forward to more. :)
I'm an audio guy - but I work with Vegas - learned something new, though in the eq stuff - thanks. Would love to learn how to work with Video - cause it seems to always break into little teeny pictures that make it difficult to trim to the sound track.
that was really helpfull.. thanks from this brazilian guy
Amazing tutorial
Thank you Eric, very helpful.
You´re doing good, I like the tutorial very much. Thanks a lot!
"Grafik-Dynamics" is a Limiter i think
I like your Compressor Preset, helped me a lot
So for workflow reasons, the part where you mention it's a good idea to treat the first part of the piano track as a separate mix than the second part: would it be a good idea to split that apart into two tracks in order to better keep hold of what eq you're using one what part?
AWESOME, thanks! made all the difference in the world
Thank you! Great tutorial!😀
Thanks Eric
great tutorial!
This was ridiculously useful, thank you so much!
Glad it helped ya out!
WOW ! Thanks man... You helped me a lot !
Great job. You saved me hours of tweaking.
NICE! Very usefull, thanks
Dude, thank you for this video!!
Really helpful! Thanks
Oooooo you sneeky little devil... i was about to rage quit then i heard how to make it awesome:)
*sneaky*
Yay video tutorials!
Nice tut. Thank you.
This was so helpful, thanks!!!
Thanks,Veryyyyyy useful
Did you make the Vocals in the first scenario? Because if you did, I'd really love to know how.
Wow. Insanely cool!
Very helpful thank you
Can you say name of that piano song?
Really thank you so much for this awesome help I like it to much :)
For a woman's voice, can you also do the same bass and high frequency EQ increase that you showed for the male voice?
Really liked this tutorial Eric. Thanks. Did you produce the vocals? If not, where do you get them? I've put this on my watch later list as I know I'll come back to this one. Need to get my head around it>
This is so good! thank you!! :D
Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you!
I'm glad I could help you out!
Just wondering, what piano track was that?
Thanks.
awesome
thanks man
Thank you so much! You helped me a lot! ^^
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Thanks allot bruva
Can you change the music Volume back up after the talking
When recording singing vocals over backing tracks..Should I record vocals in mono only?
Yes I'd recommend recording vocals in mono, so that you can add stereo effects to them afterwards.
+Eric Fullerton Hay, what is the name of the track that you used for the action music
plzz make with multi tracks mixing
Thanks
where can I get sony vegas? thanks for the video
I know this is an old video, but there is something called "ducking" which can also be used.
does this work for like..singing as well?
Yes this works great with vocals in a song.
Eric Fullerton thanks for your reply! I'll give it a try when my mic gets here!
wow!! great tutorial, thanks :)))
the problem is that you try to match a track with low level recording with a track tha hits almost 0 db...exept the eq thing is massive volume difference there that is not normal.
ahhhhh!!! O.O omg i love you forever!!! thank youuuuuu!
was very helpful
Great vid!
Can I ask you something? Do you remember what's the name of the track you used?
Is it free software ???
how to recordding my voice??
how do you side chain eq?
plz tell me how to make at the intro the music be high then i talk it get quiet PLZ PLZ
(i liked ur video)
How do I separate vocals from a song so I just get the music?
Search the "Song Name + Karaoke" in the UA-cam and you will get a lot of result.. Enjoy haha! :)
MOAR
Mooooore
Woot First
"in order to better keep in mind what eq you are using on what part" is a better way to say that. Apologies about comment-spamming. :/
Ok all i wanted is the gain XD damn ... thanks man XD
Please name the software
I used Sony Vegas, but it was bought by Magix, so now it's Magix Vegas www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/product-comparison/
Time consuming af lol. Just youtube what is sidechain compression.
Mix it on the DAW like fl or logic pro whatever you like and then place the rendered audio on video.
haii semuaaaaa
the music sounds wayyyyy too filtered.
Wait, aren't you Eric from The Shaft?
Yup that's me. :)
lmao i just started listening to the shaft and as soon as i started this video i was like wait.... i know who this is XD have a great rest of your day, love the show!
+Timb3r Wow haha, really is a small world. Thanks for listening btw, enjoy!
:D
Really thank you so much for this awesome help I like it to much :)
