There's this guy who made me listen to this song. He was sweet, honest, most of the things that make someone like me fall for him. That was way back in 2017, but now, he's in a relationship with a guy and barely talks to me anymore. Oh well, whenever i miss him, I always listen to this song.

Met when we were 18. Young and in love, we were. I went to the Army because i didn't want my parents or ANYONE's help in starting my life. We were young and poor. Rent free, thanks to the Army. No car. No furniture. No bed, except for the airbed we shared in our 2 story duplex. You never complained. You never asked for more. We lived like there was no tomorrow and always looking forward to see each other after a day of work. We walked to the grocery stores. Walked to the park. Walked to use the computer lab for internet. Remember how we had no money for milk and we had to count coins? Looking everywhere in our big empty house for coins just to get milk. We were happy and we never wished for more. We had each other. 12 years later...we have a 10 year old whose dreams is to be an actor. We lost everything because we rented and made a bad investment. Place was haunted. We left it along with everything. Now we are restarting and You Still never complain about not having anything. For that, I am grateful. But along the way, your depression always got the best of you. You overcame suicide, neglection, abuse, lies,....now, you have transformed as did I.
And now, this is slowly becoming nothing more than memories for us.

Hi! My name is Jalen. I wanted to write y'all an appreciation letter. I'm sure you get thousands of letters and emails talking about how your music has saved someone's life. While that's true for me- your music helped me through some really rough times - it's also been there for all of the best times of my life. I can genuinely say that because of Sleeping With Sirens, I get to marry my best friend on 2/26/24. Really. Maybe it sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Y'all have played such an important role in me and my fiance's relationship that we're planning our first dance to Scene One: James Dean and Audrey Hepburn. It'll be the song I walk down the aisle to. And I'm even planning to surprise my fiance with a special performance to (the electric) If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn.
The impact you've had on our lives is monumental. You're the reason we really even started talking. I'll try to put this in a nutshell because I'm sure yall are busy. The first night we hung out, a friend introduced us. She didn't listen to much rock music, so while she was with us, I skipped through a lot of my playlist. When I dropped her off, I immediately looked to Mark, my (now) fiancé, and said, "I'm sorry if you don't listen to this kind of music, but I love this song" and cranked up the volume on the song If You Can't Hang. I will never forget the look of shock on his face - I thought he was going to tell me to turn it off- but then he proceeded to say, "You listen to Sleeping With Sirens? They're my favorite band!"
From then on, we've basically been inseparable. We became best friends immediately and started dating pretty soon after that. In the course of our relationship, I think we've seen yall live 3 times! And we even met once - it was July 2019 in Phoenix, AZ at a signing, but i know yall also met thousands of other crying fans that day, so i probably blended in with the mix. It was bad. I really broke down sobbing after yall signed my poster. I so desperately wanted to tell you guys that you're the reason i met the love of my life, but I was crying so hard I couldn't even get words out. It was so quick, but it meant so much to me.
Music and concerts play a huge role in our relationship. It's awesome because now I have a built-in concert buddy! We even debated getting married at the courthouse, so we could use the extra money to go to concerts!
We're really big fans of you guys. Every time I've heard you play James Dean and Audrey Hepburn live, I just sobbed my eyes out. If we're being honest, every time it plays on my phone, I cry too. It's kind of embarrassing at this point - joking. It just really means so much to me and Mark. I wish there was such a thing as personal concerts - I would probably explode from all the excitement.
It really is the perfect song song for our relationship. "I can't promise that things won't be broken, but I swear that I will never leave" is probably even going to be written into my vows. I'm genuinely happy to have it included in our wedding in any/every way.

I'm dedicating this song for a couple I saw a few years ago, who were sitting opposite each other on the train on the way to the beach. The train was so warm, kind of stuffy and gross because everyone was heading to the sea side, some were standing, kids were being so so damn loud, everyone was generally sweating. It was one of those trains that just weren't updated in their system and you wondered why this train was still here. Despite that, the weather was absolutely great, the sun was shining, sky was so blue but the breeze was cooling giving you a sense of comfort, that you could spend time outside for hours on end. It just made you feel happy and this is coming from someone who loves rain, the autumn and winter seasons. Anyways, it was a four seat with a table and the girl was sitting opposite the boy, they were sitting in the window seats. I was sitting on the other side, in a two seat next to my cousin who had come from Nigeria and she was helping my set up Snapchat account on my phone. I could hear the girl talking, rambling almost, and something she had said had made me laugh. I turned to take a glance and my eye caught her partner. I was absolutely in awe. The amount of adoration, love he had in his eyes was so so raw that it was overwhelming yet one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. You could tell they were together just by looking at them. He didn't say anything, he just watched her as she continued to go on about a topic she was passionate about whilst looking outside the window where the sea lay, shimmering in the sunlight. It almost as if, he was appreciating the way she talked, the way she rambled, her hair, her eyes, her whole being. They weren't even touching like holding hands, it was almost like he was looking at such a beautiful rare artifact in a museum that you couldn't touch, just stand and appreciate. It's so weird but I felt honored witnessing such a rare moment. Although I only looked for five seconds, I'll just never forget that moment in my life at all. This song, especially the end casts my mind back to that moment.

My ex girlfriend showed me this song in 2013. I'm really happy we both got closure to move on in our lives. Thank you so much for forgiving me. His voice is what makes Sleeping With Sirens who they are, and this version of the song just completely gets the message across in a different way than the original. I love it. Played it for my now fiancée, and it's been one of our songs ever since.
