  • A full step-by-step walkthrough of the Pinsta Process. Capturing analog photos has never been easier!
    1. Prepare developer (in this example: Adox Neutol Eco, diluted 1+4)
    2. Prepare fixer (in this example: Adox Adofix Plus, diluted 1+4)
    - any paper developer and any fixer will work, follow the manufacturer's instructions for preparing the liquid -
    3. In a dark bag, load the camera with 4x5" Harman Direct Positive paper.
    4. (optional) Preflash the paper by moving the diffuser spot over the pinhole and placing a 1.000 lumen LED torch over the diffuser spot (Pinsta Pro) for 20-30 seconds. Preflashing will extend the tonal range of the paper and drastically reduce exposure times.
    5. Meter the light of your scene to determine the exposure time. You can use a lightmeter, or a lightmeter app like "Lightmeter" by WBPhoto. Make sure your settings are f/229 (aperture) and ISO 1-3.
    6. Compose your shot and expose it by moving the shutterdisc so that the pinhole becomes visible.
    7. After the exposure is done, move the shutterdisc one position so the pinhole isn't visible anymore.
    8. Using the syringes, slowly and steadily insert developer fluid into the camera, while gently moving the camera around (agitating). Continuously agitate, making sure all of the paper gets in contact with the fluid. After 90 seconds, extract all of the fluid from the camera using the same syringe. It's normal that around 5ml less of the fluid comes back out.
    9. Using the second syringe, insert fixer the same way as before with the developer. Agitate as before, for 60 seconds and extract, using the same syringe.
    10. Using the third syringe, insert fresh water and agitate for about 2 minutes. Extract using the same syringe.
    11. Open the camera to find out what you just captured!
    12. Collect used water (and other fluids) in a container, take them home and dispose of them in the correct manner. Ask your local council for advice on how to dispose of chemical waste.
    13. Use the suction-keyring to extract the paper from the camera's back and place it in the magnetic drying frame, which will prevent it from curling up.
    14. Dry out the camera with a cloth or some paper towel and you're ready to reload!

I know this may seem too simple, but can you show us how to pre-flash the photographic paper? Everyone talks about pre-flashing with an enlarger, but I don't have that, so I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Thanks
