I searched for YEARS to find a musical instrument that I could play. Guitar, piano, drums, pan pipes, recorder, trumpet, tin whistle... I bombed out on all of them. Even the harmonica.
I fell in love with this little instrument when I watched the movie Escape to Witch Mountain. It was amazing. Then I noticed the use of the harmonica in other movies (mostly Westerns).
But when I tried to learn to play it - disaster. First, I couldn't form my lips into a tight enough circle to isolate a single note, as it shows in all of the books about playing the instrument. Then I discovered that I didn't have the breath for it.

I've since started learning to play the 6 hole pendant ocarina (my wrists and fingers can't handle the 12 hole ocarina, not with my advancing arthritis). It's not as versatile as the harmonica, but I still like it. I'm also learning to play the kalimba, another simple instrument capable of producing beautiful music.
You should try the mouth harp but buy a good one.

I tried that, too. I just couldn't get the hang of it. I'm more than happy with the 6-hole pendant ocarina.
I used to have one of those! It came with a little song book and I played all sorts of stuff on it!
I practiced scales, and found that I could get more notes out of it if I covered the holes halfway while doing scales. @jimgilbert9984
Thanks for this awesome channel and videos! They are way better than any tabs found online. I actually stumbled upon this channel and since I have a harmonica that I never play, I decided why not? Might as well learn it. After playing this tune for about an hour, I nearly got it down. I wish more people would make videos like this.

I'd imagine doing it like the original (with fast slurred notes) would be very difficult to say the least.

Is there different types of harmonicas because mine doesn’t sound that smooth, mine is more raspy and vibrates more
Yes, there are diatonic (10 holes), tremolo (24 holes), chromatic(12,14,16+ holes)
You probably have a tremolo harp with 24 or so holes in two rows, most common in parts of Asia, mainly India, and or other rural parts like Mexico
Diatonic are more popular as you will find thousands of videos diticated to teaching it
Chromatic are also popular, but you really almost have to find a teacher to help you out
Tremolo... well I'm not sure actually, but it is not non-existent lol

Le 6 et le 8 il faut les jouer en passant sur le 7. C’est a la fois plus simple que plus dure car il ne faut pas la jouer en fausse note mais ca permet d’être plus delicat pour trouver le 8. Point positif, ça donne un meilleur style à la mélodie
