The Cleveland Way | National Trail | In Three Minutes

- The Cleveland Way National Trail runs for 109 miles (175 km) through beautiful and ever-changing landscapes and scenery in the North York Moors National Park. It begins in Helmsley just outside of the castle, then climbs up into the Cleveland Hills, joining the famous Coast to Coast path for a short while, before hitting the coast at Saltburn By The Sea, and heading south towards Filey.

Done it 3 times and many others, the Cleveland way is without doubt one of the most beautiful and varied walks in the world in my view it has everything. When the coast path from Easington to Filey Brig is finished you will be carry on down the coast. Or even take the wolds way and carry on southwest. The wolds way is also beautiful. The options are endless.
Wow, that sure is an eyeful for 3 minutes...a person could get lost exploring each and every area and probably still miss things in over 3 weeks or months, or maybe even years...that is one special place...thanks so much for sharing...

My local trail. The brilliant thing about the Cleveland way is it is so diverse. Its almost like walking two completely different trails. Looking forward to the full film.
My first backpack long distance Trail in 1993 ,fantastic walk but lots of up and downs when you reach the coast.Some 25 Long distance trails later its still a favourite. Thanks Abbie

I loved the Cleveland Way, my wife and I did this walk together. It was an amazing way to clear the cobwebs and de-stress from everyday life for a bit. Even today it brings happy memories for me.
Sweet Trailer Abbie, heading out on the CW this week with a mate i hiked it with 8years ago as a shakedown for Te Araroa. Really looking forward to seeing how its changed and what i remember!!

I'm just heading off to do this starting tomorrow! Looks fab for my first and sadly only backpacking trip this year.
Walked part of the Cleveland way last week, but had to give up due to bad weather slowing us down and having to be back at work. We got as far as Robin Hood Bay in 5 days. Your snippet video has given us some impetus to finish it.
So lovely to see this, and you've picked out all the loveliest scenery in my area to fit into your Three Minutes. Hope we'll see a longer version some time soon?
Helmsley is such a lovely place. I often spend way too much money in Hunters Deli and the ice creams they sell outside are amazing.

Thanks for this Abbie. I set off on Friday to walk the Cleveland way. We seem to be walking the same paths, coast to coast, west highland way, great glen, IOW coastal path to name a few. I'm not stalking you I promise, but if I do ever bump into you on a path, I'll stop and say hi.
Looking at this for next year. Doing it in reverse. Filey to Helmsley.

Where is the film?! Waiting for it.
I think I've just found my next trek! Just a question. Did you camp, and was it sites, or "wild camping"? I only ask because I've just had to end walk around Anglesey because a lot of the small tent sites seem to have shut their facilities, so aren't accepting back packers, and wild camping there is heavily discouraged, at the moment, because of Covid.
