Her sister's fiance (boyfriend at the time) came to them and asked her if she would try her best to throw her bouquet to her sister, because he was planning on proposing to her when he took her home after the wedding. @@cheapbastard990, technically if there are any existing amendments or attachments in or to the deed/title regarding the property being in an H.O.A. and one replaces a previous one that was shutdown, then requiring someone join it would be legal. The property owner is the one that has to in such a case be proactive, and not reactive after the fact. Now as much as I despise H.O.A.s if I were a judge hearing such a case, I'd shake my head, and tell the person that they failed to be proactive after the H.O.A. was disbanded and dissolved, the attachment/amendment on the deed/title still exists, with what it entails as requirements and restrictions that are to be met. It's also why the smart people will do a full deed/title history check, to know what and if any restrictions on a property exists, before buying it. A plea of ignorance isn't going to hold up in a court. I know and realize it's a very flawed counter argument that judges can and do use, and yet they are right, whether we like it or not.
@@vernonharden Amendments are a different issue, and have to be approved by whatever process is spelled out in the contract. The HOA is contractual, after all. If I sign a contract with another party I am obligated to follow it. However, if the entity with which I contracted no longer exists, then that contract is null and void. If the HOA contracts with a management company to handle the work, I an still obligated. But if the HOA is disbanded then it ceases to exist. Someone can start another HOA, but if I never contracted with them, then I have no obligation to join it. The HOA is a private entity, no different from say a neighborhood gym. If I sign a contract with a gym and they go out of business I am bot obligated to join in another company starts anther gym. I agree that being proactive is a good idea, but without an insane of crooked judge, I can't see how a previous contract with a different party could possibly be interpreted to obligate anyone to sign a now contract with another party.
The third story, that was some classic backhanded petty revenge. I bet the cousin received quite thee earful from at least the Poster's aunt and uncle.
"Seriously you can call the police for pretty much anything and they have to send an officer to check out the situation." False. There's no legal obligation for police to go out for any calls, according to law and case law. Some departments have *policies* saying they will usually send out someone for any call, but that's still at their discretion. The ridiculousness of such a statement is really made evident when terrible places like some parts of California have on average greater than 36 HOUR response times for VIOLENT crimes. They don't even send officers out for nonviolent crimes at this point.

Neighbor parking on OP’s driveway is TAH! Not OP. If she couldn’t afford to pay the tow and storage fees, she shouldn’t have parked on someone else’s driveway, especially after being told not to.
Babysitting Story: OP should not have cleaned that first time... I'd have told Cousin off for leaving the kitchen too disgusting to safely cook in and not leaving dinner or a snack for her kid!
Story 4: nta. She's been told multiple times 'hey, you aren't allowed to park here.' If she had any sense she would have stopped parking there at the point you (assumably) woke her up at 6 a.m. to deal with her car. She left her vehicle at a place she was very specifically disallowed from parking for her own convenience and is handling the consequences of doing so poorly. If anything you should have been more angry about her messing with the health care of your child, imo. What would happen of they had an allergic reaction, for example?
2nd story, the sister and her fiancé (and the Mom), are basically saying to everyone, it's perfectly fine if someone proposes at their wedding too. Fair's fair. No double standards etc... So can't complain if that happens to them.
I can understand why it's a very big deal to have your car tow when you don't have a penny. And it's more reason to not piss off people and put your car where you're not supposed to! I mean, I've heard a couple of story of rich people just saying : "It's pocket money : don't care!". But, the neighbor was definitively not that kind of people!
@@nicolasjoly6948 if she wasn't rich then she should have thought about the consequences of when they made it clear not to park in their driveway any more, it is bad enough the mother had to reschedule her child's appt...trust me i had ups guy block my driveway just to run across the street to drop off a pkg and their drive way is like few feet back where they could have stop'd and do it there but no he had to keep blocking my driveway, i told him 3 time to stop, he ignored me and i turned him in, next time a ups stop'd to drop pkg off at neighbor it was a different driver and he parked further back to or went up the road and turned around and parked in front of their house to drop off pkg...there are consequences if you don't abide somebody's request
story 2, I wish I could've been at that wedding so that I could (with the bride's permission) make an announcement, and here's what I would've said: "ladies and gentlemen, this is a happy day for this lovely couple, so if any of you were planning on taking it over with a pregnancy announcement, a proposal, or what have you, the door is right there, don't let it hit you on the way out . . . or do . . . Wedding Story: WHAT IN HELL IS OP'S MOMSTER THINKING??? YOU DO NOT PROPOSE (or do anything else to take attention away from the Bride & Groom) AT SOMEONE ELSE'S WEDDING!!! After the Wedding, OP needs to go Low (or No) Contact with her Momster and Sister... If I was OP, the moment I heard that someone is intending to disrupt my Wedding by Proposing/Announcing a Pregnancy etc., that person would be IMMEDIATELY uninvited and I'd call them to tell them they are no longer welcome at MY Wedding and if they show up, the Police will be called and they WILL be Arrested for Trespassing...anyone that objected would likewise be told they are no longer welcome...
Yea. I heard a story where a wedding took place at a garden park or something and three months later the mother of a guest flipped out at her son's engagement announcement dinner because he revealed they had gone to a out of the way spot and proposed without anyone knowing. But even that seems iffy to me. What if someone had walked in on the proposal and blabbed to everyone else?
S1: I guess either harassment law doesn't exist where OP is, or their location doesn't consider the HOA president's actions to rise to that level. Seems like living in or near a neighborhood run or mostly-run by an HOA without actually being a member can be... A way to get some extra money if you can deal with the harassment. By which I mean legally. (With the caveat that you have to live in conditions where you really don't have to join, like being there longer than the HOA, or, as said, being clearly outside their borders.)
"So, sis, are you planning to say yes or no, when he proposes at my wedding?" Maybe she doesn't know. If I were the groom, before the bride comes out he should say something like "Hey, propose to her now, before we get this started"
I dont know how people think that having a verbal agreement (if there ever was one), with the previous owner, that they can just force the new owners to uphold it. Lady was warned and earned the tow.
I live in a HOA. Enforcement is a civil issue not criminal. As such the police would ignore these calls. And they would have arrested her for false reporting too. I don’t know where this HOA would exist that police would come like this. I’ve had neighbors with active break ins where the cops don’t come. Grand theft auto is a low priority call
If it was a wealthy neighborhood, they would show up. It's amazing how money motivates law enforcement. A friend of mine dated a guy that lives in a gated community and the police would show up. There was a point when people were getting over the fence and breaking into cars. The police had a officer stationed at the community for awhile. (The guy was nice but worked way to much and it didn't work out)
@@TheCheshireMadcat it depends on how understaffed they are. We are at 40% staffing. The wealthy neighborhoods here have private security they call. Of course they can’t arrest etc but they are fast.
No power means no power. You don't owe a thing to them. She needs to be arrested. She is trying to invade. She does need to do anything with or in your house
Always have a contract any agreements with neighbors to insure no liability or conflict between neighbors. Some people make extra money by renting their driveway.

Sounds like your sister is your parents golden child. How badly do you not want this OP? If your parents are paying for the wedding you really only have a few choices. Elope, leave for your honeymoon immediately after the ceremony and they can have a proposal party instead of a reception, hire security to keep the bf out or go along with it. Anything but the last is going to cause problems with your family, but it's your choice. I have to ask OP, did you and your husband prime your wedding guests? Regardless, that was epic that their planned upstaging of you didn't work. I would seriously go no contact for awhile, say 3 or 4 years, because they will attempt to guilt you and make your life hell over this. Roommate food thief story: You may have only gotten $100, but I'll bet it cost him 3 to 4 times that to replace the books. Car towed story: NTA! She was told several times to no longer park in your driveway and she continued to do so. But I would suggest she get herself to a loan company to get the money to get her car back. Maybe she doesn't realize that the longer the car stays in the impound lot, the more it's going to cost to get it out. YOU OP, are not responsible for her problems. HOA lien story: You never just pitch anything from an HOA, especially one you don't belong to. You keep it all for evidence. Once you have a lawyer send a cease and desist, if they don't stop, then you sue them using their own correspondence against them.

The tow story, that was a temporary courtesy that the neighbor was extended. So the poster is not the jerk, nor are they to blame for the tow. The police did what they legally had the right to do, which was with a vehicle being parked on another's property, by having it towed.
Uh - she's harassing you. That's illegal. Trespass her, get a surveillance camera (all sides of property), and file a civil civil lawsuit against her and the HOA. Send a cease and desist, etc.
Regarding the parked car story, the OP was definitely NTA. The neighbor was trespassing flagrantly and was lucky she didn't get towed and possibly even arrested or sued for the trespassing, on ONLY got towed.
That was her wedding, her special day, that is not the time nor place for that! Talk about trying to steal the spotlight, How narcissistic of them to even try. I think they were far nicer than need be in regards to that neighbor parking in their drive way. She was told not once, but multiple times that she needed to stop. After telling them the initial time, id give one chance, after that I would have had her car towed. They were told to stop, they chose to ignore it, actions have consequences and the neighbor has nobody to blame but themselves.
A pew pew and a body cam is also good revenge. Remember, once cops are involved and shes on OPs property she can be trespassed. Also write up a cease and desist letter for the harassment. Now that she is trespassed and legally informed she is harassing, self defense comes into play. No need to use the pew pew but it's there for HOA insanity
story 4. OP you are NOT TAH. Your neighbor was warned multiple times NOT to park in your driveway, MULTIPLE TIMES. You were 100% in the right to have the car removed at her expense.
Ripe, on the parking issue, definitely NTA. Some people just feel like they are "entitled" to park wherever they want. That's not the case at all. The driveway was situated on OP's PRIVATE PROPERTY, and that doesn't give the neighbor the right to park on the OP's property. That attitude is just ridiculous!
In case no one's said it, but the reason they have to check it out is incase the person calling is in a situation where they can't say what's really happening (I think).
*HOA Karen story:* I don't blame OP for denying her entry. I wouldn't want a strange ass person to come onto my property or into my house when I'm trying to relax. I would be more surprised if the cops *DIDN'T* laugh hearing the call and hearing her claim that OP wasn't letting her trespass (which was the legit crime in that situation).
HOA's should never have the right to fine and only have the right to collect money to maintain the common areas as it is now they simply have too much power
Story 1: How did HOA President Karen not get charged with abusing the 911 system? Why didn't OP have Karen trespassed, so Karen would go to jail for trying to break in and peeping in windows?
There are 365 days in the year. Sister can get proposal ion any of the other 364 days. Cancel the wedding, elope and have a few friends for the ceremony and stick it to OP's family.

I hope so, and I hope the cousin's parents threatened to call CPS on them for living like that!
@@nancyomalley6286, I completely agree.
Props to ripe for actually telling the title story as the first one
S1: Hope we get OP's other story someday regarding Karen's job loss.
Anyone with a shred of self & situational awareness knows that proposing at someone else’s wedding is tacky AF.
"Seriously you can call the police for pretty much anything and they have to send an officer to check out the situation."
False.
Maybe OP does NOT live in your country, and MAYBE the police inOP's country follow different rules?........ lol
+oniryuuko, writes _"some parts of California have on average greater than 36 HOUR response times for VIOLENT crimes"_
Citation, mother-f***ing needed!
Neighbor parking on OP’s driveway is TAH! Not OP. If she couldn’t afford to pay the tow and storage fees, she shouldn’t have parked on someone else’s driveway, especially after being told not to.
I see Dexter was getting a bit of stair style exercise at the end. That made me smile a bit. 😀
Get a lock for the fridge. Roommate is stealing from you. So is his friends
So can't complain if that happens to them.
the last story, towing car...when the neighbor glares at you ... give the bird...she'll stop
@@nicolasjoly6948 if she wasn't rich then she should have thought about the consequences of when they made it clear not to park in their driveway any more, it is bad enough the mother had to reschedule her child's appt...trust me i had ups guy block my driveway just to run across the street to drop off a pkg and their drive way is like few feet back where they could have stop'd and do it there but no he had to keep blocking my driveway, i told him 3 time to stop, he ignored me and i turned him in, next time a ups stop'd to drop pkg off at neighbor it was a different driver and he parked further back to or went up the road and turned around and parked in front of their house to drop off pkg...there are consequences if you don't abide somebody's request
story 2, I wish I could've been at that wedding so that I could (with the bride's permission) make an announcement, and here's what I would've said:
"ladies and gentlemen, this is a happy day for this lovely couple, so if any of you were planning on taking it over with a pregnancy announcement, a proposal, or what have you, the door is right there, don't let it hit you on the way out . . . or do . . . Lord knows you need a good kick in the butt for giving the idea even a passing thought, to those of you still here: let's enjoy ourselves"
The house with the lizards, I might have seen in my travels around FL back in the days....
Here in North Florida, I had two baby lizards sneak in my front door yesterday. It happens. They are far better than the huge roaches and spiders. 😮
@@lancerevell5979, spiders I can generally cope with. The lizards were likely looking for bugs like roaches for a meal.
@@lancerevell5979 Happens where I'm from too. In my case the lizards are Asian house geckos. Their looks and their chirps are adorable.
Said agreements become null and void once a new occupant moves in.
Can’t wait! Hubby loves the HOA stories.
It helps reminds me on why I got out of the hoa I lived in. And I have fun comparing the stories to what I and my neighbors in the place went thru.
Oh my gosh Dexter on those stairs, just too adorable!!!!
I so love your kitties. Sweet princess Disnii and cute Dexter.
Just stay away from HOAs if you live next to one put up cameras.

Always have a contract any agreements with neighbors to insure no liability or conflict between neighbors. Some people make extra money by renting their driveway.
It's your wedding not your family's and it's your decision, feel free to be a bridezilla over this one issue. It's your day no one else's.
Join HOA story: And in many ways, this is why I won't be a part of an HOA. It only takes one person like Karen to make life miserable.
No to proposal at wedding story: NTA!

Wedding proposal:
The solution is so simple I’m surprised no one has mentioned it
Anyone in favor of this idea is no longer invited to the wedding
Nta. You are not her servant. You are not her maid. She can wash her own dishes and clean her own house
A relative pulled this one on me when I was a teen. I went over there to watch 2 kids for a few hours good God I regretted going over. The place was a pigsty, the kids needed washing, everything needed washing, filthy dishes, and to top it all off busted TV. Those few hours turned into over 12 hours needless to say I was furious, when she finally got home I gave her my bill and she had a temper tantrum. She started crying but you said 40 bucks, and I said yes $40 to watch 2 children the other $80 is for cleaning the place while watching children who by the way we’re total brats and had never had a bedtime!! She tried to fight me on it and I unleashed my father on her the verbal teardown he gave her was legendary then I got paid in full never babysat for her again.
@@karenbaldwin2867, the moral of the story, never unleash the righteous wrath of a parent.
@@vernonharden You’ve never heard a master sergeant yell so loud the windows vibrate it’s authentically terrifying!! And that was before he saw the inside of her house.
@@karenbaldwin2867, don't need. I have the type of voice, that if I use what's called controlled rage, you would believe that's I'm in a full on rage, and extremely angered. I would ban her from my wedding

#2 Best if OP went NC with her FOO. Looking at the family history shows why. They expected her to accept being treated as a third class citizen.
its crappy to propose on anothers wedding as its stealing the attention
♾️⭐️s and 😻🤗s for Ripe, JB, Disney and Dexter!
The g in Magenta sounds like the j in Jerry, Jerk and Juice...
"G" is one of those letters that has inconsistent sounds. The soft "G" vs hard "G" rule has more exceptions than "C" has e.g. get, gigabyte, gerenuk, Gila monster, gift, girl, etc.
Who wants to be proposed to at a wedding? Most women want to be surprised at nice place of the women's choice. I be embarrassed to death if my boyfriend did that, but yeah the groom should've emphasized that the fact is about your day as bride and groom. If anyone trys and may other announcements at their wedding is just disrespect.
Story 2, NTAH!!!! IT'S YOUR WEDDING!! Wow unbelievable 😮😢 this shouldn't even be a disagreement. To almost every woman it would ruin it. I'm sorry that's your day and your new husband's day. It's your day not thiers. Wow 💔 I'm so so sorry. I just got to the end of story. Wow 💔 😢 it's still ridiculous they went ahead and proposed anyway. Just wow
And the big bad wolf said "I'm with the HOA, let me in!"
I wonder how soon the title story will completely cover my BINGO card 🤔
Should tell any HOA's that harass you, to read the Reddit stories. It usually doesn't turn out well for the HOAs.
That's probably the best HOA revenge so far...😂
I've never heard of a state that allows the HOA any power over the inside of someone's house. Everywhere I know of, the HOA's power ends at the door.
The proposal at the wedding idea if you don’t mind not having a big wedding, just cancel the whole thing and elope then send out an announcement to the rest of the family and tell them exactly why they’re not gonna get to go to your wedding
I'd like to know how the Karen managed to get OUT of the HOA. Once your in, the generally have you and you can't get out.
I took it to mean she moved, but that's just an assumption on my part.
Big thumbs up for the channel...
😎👍
I allowed my best friend to propose at my wedding since I saw it as a continuation of the theme. He found another room and proposed there so as not to interrupt the party.
30 years later, he's still married and I'm on my third. So at least I got to see something romantic that day!
Where is that police have to send an officer out to investigate every complaint? Nowhere I've lived. Great stories, Ripe.

Just sit back and watch her life be destroyed these golden kids always amount to nothing you need to go to prioritize your life and your well-being your sister it pretty much going downhill
My brother at his speech started many sentences sounding like he was going to propose but changed into using world play last second, it was quite funny lol.
Seems to me like he was reading out the lyrics to _Miss Susie._
The tow story, that was a temporary courtesy that the neighbor was extended. So the poster is not the jerk, nor are they to blame for the tow. The police did what they legally had the right to do, which was with a vehicle being parked on another's property, by having it towed.
And Karen was already told once that they needed their driveway back and not to park there any more. She should have listened.
@@paul16451 Karens don't listen.
Not the A-Hole, & I should know because I am a A-Hole, just ask my Wife,,,lol
18:00 lein is unconstitutional if not set by a judge, sue - sue the clerk office for SEPARATION OF POWER, not a judge
I would invite the last story's HOA over to my house for a red wedding.
Happy Sunday Funday,, sorry I am late, being an Adult sucks,, 😹😹😹⭐⭐😻😻😻,, time for some Cocktails 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Story 4 .... NTA why ? She was asked to move and she ignored so play witch games win witch prizes ... and yes I would have had her car towed
⭐😎⭐ Park on private property, and you get towed. *You made the stupid choice, suffer the consequences of your actions.*
That is a good idea
Thanks for the heart
Parking problem:Their first mistake was allowing her to park there in the first place. They should have anticipated problems in the future.
Story 2: Yeah canceling the wedding is dumb, but the groom can threaten to have their brakes cut😊
story 4. OP you are NOT TAH. Your neighbor was warned multiple times NOT to park in your driveway, MULTIPLE TIMES. You were 100% in the right to have the car removed at her expense.
Hi all 👋👋
Ripe, on the parking issue, definitely NTA. Some people just feel like they are "entitled" to park wherever they want. That's not the case at all. The driveway was situated on OP's PRIVATE PROPERTY, and that doesn't give the neighbor the right to park on the OP's property. That attitude is just ridiculous!
Hoa Karen’s have the mindset of rules for thee not for me
Not the A-Hole, but the neighbor is an A-Hole because she kept parking her car behind OP's car.
In case no one's said it, but the reason they have to check it out is incase the person calling is in a situation where they can't say what's really happening (I think).
Hey RIPE I actually have a question if you're in an HOA could you legally buy your way out of being in the Association?
*HOA Karen story:*
I don't blame OP for denying her entry. I wouldn't want a strange ass person to come onto my property or into my house when I'm trying to relax. I would be more surprised if the cops *DIDN'T* laugh hearing the call and hearing her claim that OP wasn't letting her trespass (which was the legit crime in that situation).
No u are not u told her she couldn't park there anymore and why she couldn't but she chose to did respect you guys so she payed the price for it
Thanks for the heart
You should only clean whs TV u need a d leave it dirty after using
HOA's should never have the right to fine and only have the right to collect money to maintain the common areas as it is now they simply have too much power
do dumb stuff, you get dumb results
as for towing her car it would haved been towed the second time she blocked me in
❤❤Disnii❤❤Dexter❤❤
Story 1: How did HOA President Karen not get charged with abusing the 911 system? Why didn't OP have Karen trespassed, so Karen would go to jail for trying to break in and peeping in windows?
I don't know how there are HOA so entitled and ilegal out there in my city I've never seen an HOA that manages to do ilegal stuff....
There are 365 days in the year. Sister can get proposal ion any of the other 364 days.
Cancel the wedding, elope and have a few friends for the ceremony and stick it to OP's family.
