The salt on the boat is a badge of honor when you arrive at the dock. It let's everyone know you've been braving the elements. Everyone looks very relaxed. That is a sign of confidence. I enjoyed the ride! Thanks.
I enjoyed the vid . It was fun seeing some of my old haunts from Barnaget Light to the canal, up the Delaware, thru the C&D ( stopping at Chesapeake city free docking and cute town) to Annapolis ( sail boat show for us) to Norfolk and taking the Dismal swamp to Elizabeth City .....Then going to Hatteras and going outside to Fla. NICE enjoy.....
Your boat is very seaworthy. Kind of nice to see her getting some serious water and wind conditions. Having spent time boating on the ocean ( Pacific, Atlantic and in the gulf) I can appreciate being on a boat that is at home in adverse conditions. Not what you'd want as the norm, but for a short time it makes the trip more interesting. I enjoy seeing your night time segments. I used to enjoy cruising the inter coastal in Florida at night. The lights made it kind of magical. It was great fun hitting the night spots! That was many years ago, but the memories are still there. You have such Beautiful kids. They will have great tails to share as they get older of their adventures living on board! Cherish these adventures!
Never looks on video as bad as it is. We just ran 140hrs straight through the same. We bought a $100 craftsman pressure washer. Best thing ever, when we get to the dock we’re almost always done.
I have been waiting for this episode, as I captain m/y Archer, and we were right behind you leaving Cape May that morning, and got to experience the same fun waves all day up to the C&D Canal. We headed straight up the middle knowing it would get better, but once and a while could catch you in the binos early morning. We had waves crashing all the way over the boat as well 50'. it was slow and crazy. Im like Dan, just keep going. Was cool to meet you in Annapolis randomly.
Really nice boat, what a dream life must hv slot of cash or old money cause y’all are young, abs that boat ain’t cheap much less maintaining it fuel etc but a wonderful life style your very blessed be safe
Great episode Brooke. Hope your going to show some of the trawler show at Annapolis next episode. You should have made Braden stay out on the bow for a few more waves just to make sure the jacket didn't leak.
Combo of Salt-Away along with Spotless DI (Simple Chuck or larger) water system (to rinse after salt-away) makes cleaning up after heavy seas much easier…IMO…😎
A fellow Montrealer got hung up on that submerged wall in the Delaware, not nice for his Meridian 490. The boat was not scrapped but the repair was very expensive. He showed me the place on his chart plotter, you are right, it is not well indicated even when you zoom to the correct scale. I had passed by there a few years prior on my way from Annapolis to Montreal, as luck would have it, I stuck to the channel as you did. Come and see us in Montreal at the Royal Saint Lawrence Yacht Club. We love our good neighbours to the south, just come during the summer, otherwise you you will be like Jesus and be able to walk on water.
Barnegat is just an absolute washing machine. And all the boats that end up on the north jetty is amusing. Gotta make sure you go around that red marker.
I always wondered if you could fit a boat like that through the swing bridge in the Cape May Canal... Just perusing the chart, it doesn't look like there is a heck of a lot of room there.
Are you guys coming back to Bridgeport Harbor this summer? My boat (43 Riviera Sportfish) is there I saw you guys last year - but did not get a chance to say hello in person. Tim
Incoming yeah you do I'm the tired side and don't feel bad I'm back home I'm pretty doggone exhausted myself literally anyway yeah sometimes you got to get that rest because if you don't bad things begin to happen
Nice to see how a MY runs in comparison to SY does in bad weather. MM (y'all) and Sailing Delos are the only 2 you tube channels I have watched that went for it. I have the breathable work wear extended coat and it is great for keeping me dry when on my motorcycle. Question for you: On the Great Lakes every 6 to 7 wave they have what are called the three sister waves which are larger than normal. Do you encounter that on the ocean and other places you travel?
Yes we totally do. The waves we film are certainly not the biggest waves we have experienced. We have had waves that have fully knocked us all the way sideways. Of course we are more concerned about bracing our kiddos and ourselves during those waves. And thanks for watching! We love Delos. They are good friends of ours.
Good Morning, I had a N43, and found the pitching motion terrible, particularly in the pilot house, so ran the boat from the fly 90% of the time. I now have a powercat , but am looking for a mid size Nordhavn (55, 56,57, 62) and better pitching motion will be a big factor which has me leaning toward the 62, and against the 55. I have been told the 55 would hobby horse more than the 57, 62, and 56. Best, Maldwin
Yes! The 55 hobby horses for sure. However… we have found that fuel placement is HUGE in reducing pitch. Also people have put ballast in the stern to help. We love the livability of the 55 over the 62. Also the 62 doesn’t do good with beam waves!
I had not heard that about the 62, but maybe Tony Fields could replace the stabilizers with the latest generation Trac Stabilization with STAR at rest stabilization. As the 62 is generally less expensive than a 55, it might leave more room for a refit. Assuming one can find anyone to do it😂
All NH have high cg…. Part of design to make greatness accommodation in given length. They are great dock condos. Fleming are better sea boats but costs a lot more
Delaware bay can get rough, water's nasty to. What north up the bay across c n d canal down the Chesapeake to Annapolis? That's my stomping grounds, good crabbing, duck hunting and striper fishing. Next time pick me up and Ill give you offshore fishing lessons.
Braden great video! I have to admit Braden, I have never been impressed with you much! I think mainly because you always look like a homeless person. Anyways with this video it was great to have you in front of the camera so much of the time! You were very articulate and it was great to see the amount of thought going into where you were going next. Hope to see much more of you in front of the camera!
Hello. we are a norwegian couple who follow you on your journey. great fun to watch as we dream of a Nordhavn to. We can not avoid seeing their drawings of the Norwegian flag in the video? random, or do you have anything to do with Norway?
So, in your intro you say sail around the world. When is that going to happen unless I have missed it you have only traveled the east coast? Just saying.
I confess my deception. Your mermaid is obviously not comfortable with the crossing thing. Kids, on the opposite, seemed at ease, the same way as seemed the man at the wheel. Well, I expected a more relaxed approach to the mid haul cruise, feeling natural with even more the 10 ft undulation, with such boat. Well, let's see more. All the best.
I enjoy your videos as I am transitioning myself to leave the land behind also,, Beautiful family,, wont lie makes me thankful my daughters are grown now ;)) BRO ,,tighten your stuff up,, Boat is great ,but a shave and a trim if your doing video would not be a bad thing.
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER Now well aware of your time on the water, but with sea conditions and mother nature you can not always predict what mother nature will do particularly with one of nature's most powerful

Yup, we have a 34' Mainship 1, and except on super calm days, it's always a rinse-down after we dock.
You’re a wiseman keeping morale in the forefront of your planning. Efficiency can be hell with a miserable wife and kids.
Love the B roll with the cool tunes !
Thanks for sharing !
Enjoy this one you guys! Do you enjoy foul weather? It’s not about the wave height. It’s the wave spacing for us!
I agree! I would rather higher waves spaced out really far apart than smaller waves just stacked one after another after another.
Nordhavns just plow through those seas awesome boat one of my favorites beautiful
Love the Waterworld reference. Definitely have a great adventure as usual. See y'all next Sunday. Cheers

Great that you have felt the wind and seen the lights. Magic is real in the world and when you experience it you'll always remember.
Love the adventure you're on. We move to our 50ft Marine Trader the 28th and start our own. Your videos are fun and informative. Look forward to more.
That’s so exciting for you guys! Good luck on the start of your adventure!!!

Nice work y’all
Haha! The smokers! 🤣 that’s what I call them too!!😂
Well, you were right!......"Epic Content" on the little old Delaware bay!
Those boats are make to go through the oceans. Tough boats I wish l could own one.
Great video. I grew up across the river from the C&D canal and spent a lot of time going through it.
Nice videography!
great place that dock is really fun and good food.

Love your music selections. I'm sure its Brooke. Mike ATL GA
Great episode stay safe MM crew! 👍👍👌👌
Ahoy Brandon, safe travels, and I hope to see you in Annapolis. The Sailboat Capital but we power boaters are quietly taking over, peacefully!:)
Looks like fun on the bow!
Anchor Chesapeake City under the bridge great place to walk around, and good food. That's just south of canal the jedy, bad news
I would do so much like Braden. So cool!
I live across the bay from Annapolis....Kent Island..welcome!
Happy cruising
Looks like fun!
Passed thru the cape may canal into the Delaware years ago in a 30’ SR. It beat the heck out of us. Safe seas!

WAY TO GO BRADEN!
You wouldn't want to go through Manasquan or Barnegat inlet! Hope in ten years I have my nordhavn. You guys living the dream!
Barnegat is just an absolute washing machine. And all the boats that end up on the north jetty is amusing. Gotta make sure you go around that red marker.
We have been through the Manasquan inlet actually. It was crazy current
intro awesome
How do you take care of your dogs .where do they go to the bathroom. I love watching
Back deck. Hose off. Haha simple!
awesome

It was tight
So when are you all selling tickets to MM ocean soaker 👍👍🤣🤣🤣😂😂💪💪😜😜

Nope

I don’t agree that a Fleming would be a better sea boat. Indeed, I don’t think you could cross any ocean in a Fleming 55 without running out of fuel.
good times
we have a 6' to 8' tide on that river go times.
I know I’ve Oriental in North Carolina is there a Oriental and the Chesapeake
Great vid.
So where did you tie up for the night?
Xtratuf footwear it some of the best they also have a good shoe line of deck shoes
are we in the TIMELINE catching up with the big UA-cam MEETUP at the boat show at Annapolis???

So expensive to dock 4. To 5 bucks a foot. Up north
Welcome to the USA navy

The Annapolis Show was months ago! Guess you’re posting these a bit late.

🙄
No Ocean waves! They were in Delaware Bay. It does get rough there.
It is still the ocean lol…. It ain’t freshwater!
So, in your intro you say sail around the world. When is that going to happen unless I have missed it you have only traveled the east coast? Just saying.
Is there a deadline you have for us? Lol
Can anyone tell me where ORIENTAL is please????? 🤔😁
I love your videos. Annapolis is off of the Chesapeake Bay not the Delaware River.
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦

Where is his Life vest when he is out there and the condition is not that bad, try bad weather in the Bay of Biscay to make this look like nothing
If it’s not that bad then why recommend a life vest? Lol. He’s all good we aren’t new dogs in this community.
