The best part is when lapping 305, we can ride this as a break instead of walking all the way over to Twisted Timbers. Can't wait to revisit King's Dominion once this opens!
4:59 This is awesome. And, watching as the construction progresses has been nice. I don’t know if I’ve seen this much access by social media done before?
KD is my home park, so i’m thrilled :) It’s our 50th anniversary next year, so i’m hoping there will be more goodies along with this beauty to celebrate. As for the coaster, It’s definitely going to be bird themed, and I believe Project 305 will be big cat themed. If you look around Jungle X, you’ll see illustrations of a group of animals. Every animal is already represented by a ride in Jungle X except for the bird and the big cat. I think it’s obvious which animal would go to which ride lol. I’ve been saying KD would get a bird themed wing, most likely launched, since Jungle X opened. It made the most sense out of all the options, because of the animals but also because of BGWs lineup. The parks seem to avoid getting coaster models that the other already has, and neither park has a wing. The closest one is at Dollywood. It was the clear winner in my opinion. Also, the teaser trailer all but confirms the bird theme
@@HangtimeThrills I’m honestly more curious what they’ll do with Backlot. I’ve heard people throw around the idea of some sort of safari vehicle type jungle expedition, which sounds fun.
Kings Dominion is my home park. So, I’ve been following this very closely. My understanding is that FOF will stay the same even in Jungle-X. It will be slightly adjusted to a government installation for a UFO sighting in the jungle. It got a small theming update this year that could accommodate that theming. Backlot is a whole different story. No one seems to know about that one. I also wish they would re-do the one twist in Anaconda that beats you up. Outside of that element, it’s a great ride. They could get the same people who helped update Loch Ness at BGW. Anaconda is too iconic to remove at this point.
Although Thunderbird is currently the only operating B&M Launched Wing Coaster in North America, Chessington World Of Adventures in the UK opened Mandrill Mayhem in May 2023. Its a rather strange coaster as its a quadruple ,shuttle launch, family thrill wing coaster 👀. Its a little bumpy but I had a very fun time on it.
@@SamTucker-wo5rw Good point! I didn’t mention it because it’s layout is so vastly different to T-Bird and the layout of the KD wing, so I figured it would be simpler to gloss over it
This is my home park. I mean this is cool. I really wish the could have had a Mack launch spinning coaster. But since this is going here i would love for anaconda to be knocked down and they put it there lol. I hate anaconda. Ride sucks and painful! Really can’t wait for this to open though!
"This is just another wing coaster with a launch". Dude there's only 2 other launched wing coasters and thunderbird is a very great ride so I don't know what you're on about.
I don’t know why thoosies are so against b&m, their dive wing invert and sit down coasters are all incredible (I can’t speak for flyers or surfs but they look great too)
I don’t care what they put in their park. It will never ever compare to the volcano the blast, coaster, and the best B&M coaster is the Incredible Hulk at Universal Studios Island of adventure Kings Dominion does not have the money like Universal Studios or Disney World to do the elaborate theme like they do on their rides
@@DavidMillberry I do agree that little can ever compare to Volcano, just because it was such a one of a kind attraction. However, if getting rid of Volcano means a new coaster with better reliability, then I think it’s worth it in the long term for the park. The money that would have been spent on Volcanos upkeep can go into other projects and park improvements, and there will be an attraction that is easier to maintain and will last longer than Volcano
Whoa! Hulk is middling at best. And, Virginia has multiple coasters at Kings Dominion and BGW that are much better than ANY coaster at Disney. Universal has Velocicoaster. That seems to be awesome. But, BGW has Pantheon. Which seems to be a very similar ride but, with the worst theming ever. BGW - we are VERY disappointed in your effort.

YES, I can't wait to get out there in 2025!! I personally think this addition was worth it, and definitely filled a gap in the lineup.
Agreed

I went to KD today. They have made quite some progress.

@@bugsburrow That’s some good thinking, if it works out to be that way, I wonder what they’ll do with flight of fear since that’s also in that region

Mandrill Mayhem is also a launched wing coaster

I think he was referring to USA. There is only one here.

I hope it’s not rough/shakey

They should've gone with a huge Vekoma launched coaster. Volcano was unique. This is just another wing coaster with a launch. Womp.
