You know the game's gonna be epic when you kill a metal gear in what was basically a tutorial level.

John Perry I'd say the best MG is REX. Even in MGS4, as old, he kicked Ocelot's RAY's ass in. Radome damaged, no railgun, just the street fighter program, guns and rockets. RAY was newer, but lacked equipment.

Throwing Metal Gar Ray in the air while having some dude scream RULES OF NATURE in your hear was the most satisfying feeling ever.

Man Hunter which it wasn't at the end as a almost destroyed Version of rex actually took on a ray and defeated it.

As Otacon would said "It lacks character" a.k.a a giant fuckhueg obvious weakpoint that basically begs the enemy to fire at it and forces the pilot to be exposed to the environments (and sometime his own machine's biting move! Have I mentioned that Rex's "mouth" is where the cockpit is?!) if it goes kaput.

RAY was designed to terminate all the rex's knockoffs after shadow moses. The original REX is far superior than RAY

It is at 15:05 that anyone who bought this game realised that now only was this a new kind of Metal Gear game, but a new generation of Metal Gear. With the simple shouting of "RULES OF NATURE!" it told me that I had made the right choice in buying this game.
I'll be playing this for a long time, even when MGSV comes out. Here's hoping for Metal Gear Rising 2!

That's not quite an announcement, it's more of Kojima saying what he could do next time. Besides I've heard it before. But if he does make a sequel I can see different way it can go:
1. What MGS: Rising was gonna be, Raiden's transformation into the ninja
2. What Kojima said there, about Fox vs Nanomachine-Zombies
or 3. An actual sequel to Revengeance.
Any one of those would be awesome!

***** I dont agree that MG 4 was bad, and not relavent to the story. But, I do agree that rising is a totally different game that is not metal gear.
***** Metal gear is an espionage game, this is an hack and slash game.
If the title includes ( metal gear) it doesent make it a metal gear game. And the only reason why this game was made in the first place, is because the makers new that ninja raiden is cool, and fans will buy it. So they made profit out of it.
I dont say that the game is bad, its a cool game. But, its not metal gear.

This really isnt how the Metal Gear I know it is like... I was so sceptical about this game. I was wrong and judged it too quickly. It looks brilliant. Even if I dont really like Raiden much, the game still seems to have so much awesome things that its simply worth every damn cent.

The sheath for his sword was basically an elongated m203 (grenade launcher for the M series) which would make his draw ridiculously fast

Pretty much a draw. Raiden posses incredible power is an understatement. This guy break danced with 2 metal gears solid tied to his feet. Blocked a metal gear solid ray's attack and fling it with it's own blade like the thing was an feather. And in this point, he didn't even get his modified cyborg body yet.

yes you do that, ask a fictional game character that doesn't exist if he can run on missiles.

The point is Raiden is only human and no matter how hard you say 'epic cyborg ninja' or whatever it was, he still gets insta-wrecked when Sam lobs his fake arm off, yet Dante uses his blade pierced limbs as weapons without so much as a flinch. Then he eats pizza. Plus I assume you know Dante is a master gunslinger and can hit targets dead on from over a mile away, so repeated headshots to distract Raiden followed up with Prop shredder would deal with him pretty well/

Raiden wouldn't be able to touch Dante, he can block attacks so fast that they cut through the dimension (Vergil's dimension cut). Cutting off his head won't stop him as he is able to revive at the nearest golden statue if he 'dies'. Furthermore, Dante can kill Raiden with pandora before he gets close or with the ranged attacks his swords have, although Raiden could block I suppose. Dante can also slow down time at will, with either the bangle or quicksilver, but Raiden needs full fuel cells.

Also Sam got his right arm replaced after Armstrong (the final boss) severed it

Not even Snake, Kratos and master chief together could kill upgraded Raiden. He out classes them in every way. Speed, strength, he would kill them before they could even have their attacks parried by him..
I think that, like the rest of the franchise, this game is using gameplay to deliver a message to players. The message in this case being that this game, even if familiar in some ways, has a unique identity all its own, separate from the Metal Gear we know. And what better way to represent that than to have the player separate a Metal Gear into tiny pieces?

ah, this i didn't know, maybe that's why i compare DmC to this so much (side note, shortly after posting my comment, i got the game lol) the controls remind me of DmC quite a bit but i do have to admit though, MGR i think might have slightly more intense action than DmC, although DmC's controls are (in my opinion) more fluent though, i guess it's a matter of getting used to also but i just think DmC made it so easy to switch weapons in battle now where MGR still uses that pause feature
Thank goodness that this does not have another confusing plot.
