It's crazy how well Platinum did with Revengance. The moves you can only watch Raiden do in this cutscene of MGS4 are not only do-able but are much more impressive in Rising.
Darkhound probably because the majority of nudity in media is portraying a woman, I think they wouldn't rage if we saw some more naked dudes in movies and tv. I'm a straight dude, and even I find it strange how few male oriented nudity there is in media. I dont so much believe in the whole "They pressure us to obtain an impossible physique" bullshit, because one glance at any kind of shaving commercial, beer commercial, cologne, underwear, etc etc etc shows shirtless dudes that have unnaturally impossible to obtain six packs and biceps. But I guess body acceptance just applies to fat bitches.
This is the kind of Raiden I wanted to play as in MGR but didn't get. IMO MGR Raiden was too over the top and too strong. I would have liked the game to have had this Raiden and some actual strategy to take down enemies.
That was how it was before the reigns were passed onto Platinum games. Personally, I would have preferred the original build but I'm happy with what we got.
If you didn't know about it, Vamp's movements are based on Joaquín Cortés, a Spanish flamenco dancer. Those turns he does on top of Raiden are very common in flamenco.
playing MGS4 "oh wow hes making it look so easy" after playing MGR: Revengeance "hes making it look so hard, he could have killed them much faster than this"
Ok seriously the choreography of this fight is so GODDAM insane and beautiful and yet somehow the fact that this choreography would most likely be found in anime works so well in a realistic form Like seriously hot damn
Watching this made me realize the "last hope" theme present throughout MGS4, especially in its cinematic atmosphere. Every faction; Philanthropy, RATPATROL, Paradise Lost, Ocelot; all believed that they were basically the last hope in saving the world from The Patriots.
I think it's pretty cool how they gave Raiden's cyborg body a sense of weight in the animation. Like, when he lands from the rooftop, it feels super heavy, like that body low-key weighs a ton or something. This fighting sequence between Raiden and Vamp is fucking amazing. Kojima really turned it up when it comes to Cyborg Ninja fighting sequences >^
like, how is that even intimidating? Giant robot about to annihilate you with lasers rockets and crush you "moooooo".... I'd get killed but I'd laugh and point while I get shot at.
Not sure if you know this, but Gekkos, along with the UGs that would be developed later in the timeline, have a neuro-matrix that allows them to learn from mistakes made, which in turn makes them act more like living things than simple machines.
+HorrorLover98 Well, to be fair, I guess some people would say there is little difference between the two, especially when the opponents are masters at their style. But come on, Raiden's got that epic body! He ought to show off what it can do! Although I cannot defend what Vamp was doing at 6:12. Perhaps he was dancing there from being so overwhelmed by how awesome that was?
No. The first time you saw this you creamed in your shorts and shit your tighty whities. Be honest. This was the coolest thing you had ever saw up to that point and immediately afterwards looked into having your name legally changed to Raiden Lightning-Bolt Action. You know it. I know it. They all know it. Hell, this scene is the reason you joined ballet and took it more seriously than many of the 7-10 year old girls you attended classes with.
Holy fuck, the raiden vs vamp fight has to be my all time favourite video game fight scene. Its actually insane how well paced everything is, from the damage taken to the cable that got attached to raiden that he uses in creative ways. Just mindblowing choreography and continuity that most movies cant beat. Not to mention the soundtrack :D
This choreography is insane. No crazy battle music, no crazy attack. Just 2 people fighting with their combat styles and horror-game like music with close camera shots.

probably because the majority of nudity in media is portraying a woman, I think they wouldn't rage if we saw some more naked dudes in movies and tv.

I would have liked the game to have had this Raiden and some actual strategy to take down enemies.
the original vision of MGR was precisely that however. It was really different.

Not sure if you know this, but Gekkos, along with the UGs that would be developed later in the timeline, have a neuro-matrix that allows them to learn from mistakes made, which in turn makes them act more like living things than simple machines.
