I don't remember bro sorry... At that time I was using a lot a chain that had RComp - Pro-Q - CLA-76 - Pro-DS - Vitamin - VocalEQ and a parallel compression with a VCA compressor
@@ideez_ with respect, it is fair to assume that that's exactly what you intended to do as the alt tube was switched on (it only affects the parallel saturation circuit)
Did you adjust the output gain after changing the settings? If you increase the Triode and Pentode, without reducing the output, then the listener will perceive the increase in volume as extra energy, when it's just an increase in volume.
In fact, when you use saturation, you get less peaks but more perceived loudness. It seems that most of the time, saturation increases perceived loudness in a pleasant way, so you don't necessarily need to back off the gain because what you’ve added is very enjoyable. That's what it seems after watching few videos about people adding saturation. And please, correct me if i'm wrong!
iDeez, I see you are using in your mix bus in the demo. Would you use on tracks and/or busses? Where in FX chain would you place this beast? Always first? Anywhere you would not place it?
I hear many people that use it on their drum bus, or even for vocals! And if you use it on your mixbus I wouldn't place it too late in the chain as it definitely change the overall tone and I think you need to be able to play with frequencies after the BlackBox
Hi insighful video .I took your advice regarding your settings ...great sound from the HG2 .I noticed you had the saturation button turned off therefore your 52% saturation setting is having no effect or am I missing something ..Kind regards
Hey whats up? Do i have to adjust the saturation knob first before using the Pentode/Triode knobs or can is it not necessary? I just want to add simple analog saturation to my mix without overdoing it to much with all those knobs🙏🏼
It really depends on how your mind works. But I'd say adjust the saturation knob first, adjust the pentode and triode knobs and then come back to the saturation knob to get the exact tone you want. But honestly the 52-52-52 is a super nice spot for adding that analog touch you're looking for
I find that it almost always greatly enhances everything I use it on. It gives a realism and depth that gets much closer to analog than without it. You can overdo it if your not careful.
Mmmh I can understand your point of view but honestly for me it changed everything. There's no tool on the market comparable to the HG-2 in terms of energy and power! That's my opinion
I think its brilliant, depends on genre possibly, I make metal and its amazing for adding density to guitars, whilst retaining bite and replacing low mid information you sometime have to notch out of guitars to control muddiness
@@ideez_ If you want to demonstrate what the plugin actually does you need to compensate for the volume increase, otherwise the higher volume fools people’s ears into thinking the result is so much better, when in reallity the difference can be very subtle. So if your aim is to demonstrate what the plugin actually does to a source, without gain compensation it’s completely useless…
Great video thanks! Would also loved to hear the songs with the plugin on and off to see what it is doing. Thanks for sharing your setting! :D
Nice demo, you explained the parameters in a way I can understand. I'm ready to rawk out on the Black Box!
Great news!💯
criminally underrated channel lmao. such nice and compact videos and no bullshit
Thank u man so much man, stay tuned🔥
FACTS

Great tuturial. You are the best man. Greeting from Eindhove(Netherlad)
Thank you man! Nice to see a neighbor here!
What's the vocal chains on the audio examples?

Is a good plug in but the real one man.....working to get the real deal to had my analog chain
Analog has something more, undeniable hahah!
Use this on Drum Mix busses. That’s making so sweet.
Dope plugin indeed I have both this Black Box and the newest version the HG-2MS
Didn't even know that there were a newest version of that plugin haha thanks man
PA has a couple of goodies. Vsm, Oven, Black Box, Neold stuff.
Good to know, thanks buddy!💯
Neold U76… is extraordinary!
Sorry but if you don't turn on the in/out button, saturation won't work 😂 p.s. It's an amazing plugin ❤
It simply brings the parallel saturation to the output, which is not what I want, it’s not an on/off button😁
@@ideez_ with respect, it is fair to assume that that's exactly what you intended to do as the alt tube was switched on (it only affects the parallel saturation circuit)
@@JoeyFTL + the knob set to a precise 52% ahah

I love playing with the boost in volume as well, not only the saturation

Sound and video aren't initially synchronize when I record my screen (at least at that time), it should be turned on, it was a sync mistake😂
I agree this saturator is brilliant
100% man I've been using it for 2 years now and everytime I turn it on I'm blown away

I don't really like it on the master, I prefer the Vertigo VSM3, but for vocals or to give some tracks a little boost, it's a great distortion box.
Good to know, thanks!
Salve. Grazie per il video. Ho scaricato il plugin su mac M1 ma non vedo la barra dei preset, perchè? Chiedo aiuto. Grazie
I don't know, it's quite weird... You should maybe contact the manufacturer or seller?
@@ideez_ Grazie
Great video you Channel
is awesome
Thank u so much stay tuned💯
Nice review but you don't do any kind of gain compensation so the loudness bias doesn't let me judge the demos properly.
HG2 on the mastering?
Yes!
@@ideez_ try it yesterday, really Like the warm of it!
It’s now $250😮
I know...😢😢
Yup, this plugin is great. The lyrics to those songs are quite cringey, however.
Basically you using random setting, because it works, but you didn't even know what about these knobs are 🤨
The settings aren't random, if you think so you didn't really get the point of this video🤷♂️
I have it and it's nice but nothing special. To call this a Game Changer in audio is just plain silly.

sorry but celestal from acustica audio blows this black box thingy away
Ok
Sure ok boss 👍
That song about goosebumps is one of the worst I’ve maybe ever heard. Not hating just might need to find a new path.
😂 No worries, to each his own
Why are you doing the 666 sign in the video thumbnail
Wtf did i just watch! 😅
Worthless demo without gain compensation...
Yes the output gain is higher than the input gain. And? I know it and use this plugin and these settings for this boost as well!
