I Thought There Would Be Drama... But Not This Much...

- With Phase 5 now out and the War Effort + Scepter questlines underway, we have seen brand new levels of drama and sweat come to Classic.
Just how far will people go to get that mount? The answer it turns out, is as far as possible
Enjoy!

Razorgore EU is an absolute shitshow with coalitions, backstabbing, rebellions. its like game of thrones in here.
Some of the biggest guilds went together and decided to gatekeep almost the entirety of Silithus with "police" squads actively patrolling the area, killing anyone that wasnt from the approved guilds.
it ended up having half the server rise up to fight them, and the absolute all out war that has gone on these last few days have been insane.

Wee wuu wee wuu

krymynal skum
That means my theory was spot on by your comment......people gonna mess up other people...meaning
It's a game time, you better be ready for the real World of Warcraft..it's just kicking off
Except for the fact that the "half of the server" that rose up to fight them is 2 specific guilds that were part of the coalition / mafia that weren't happy with their deal / got shafted and just kinda used the chaos and fighting to get a better deal with the mafia leaders because they're thirsty little cucks. Now the mafia leaders (2 guilds) have decided they'll get a 2nd Scarab Lord each lmao. Our server is a total shitshow filled with scumbags.

The sad part it's a legacy server. It's not the real Shit and they try so hard.
And the worst part about it is they’ll always think people that make fun are “jealous”. It’s like no, believe it or not I’d rather be employed IRL than have a scarab mount

Recently I have been watching jokerd farming scarab lord, and 3 of the people helping him farm were mass reported and banned due to stealing a couple mobs. A little purple bug mount really brings out the worst in people.
I'll be honest I thought about getting into classic a while ago to get a bug mount but I decided against it, I despise this kind of drama so I'm glad I did. If I ever want to see the worst of people I'll go on reddit.

i'm really glad i've taken the filthy casual approach to classic, this is literal nonsense, it's not even surprising at this point anymore
Same honestly. Got some raid gear, got a pretty decent pair of daggers and a cool frostwolf howler on my main, and now I'm leveling a warrior alt. I'm casual and I'm damn proud of it.
If you're not playing it casually, you're really just ruining your life.
My main just dinged 50 and life seems so simple :) almost like I'm playing a game instead of contributing into some fabricated political scheme for a mount drop. Ahh, it's so rough being a casual :)
Not to mention the casual crowd are much more fun to play with and more mature. These hard-core try hards are the sweaty neckbeards who had no life when WoW came out and somehow still have no life outside WoW and lack any kind of social skill.
@@ThisisCitrus I disagree to some extent regarding casuals being more fun to play with. It depends entirely on the level of casual we're talking about. There are people who refuse to learn their rotation, even though they are lacking and dragging the team down to the point where we are failing content. It's fun to have a challenge, but people straight up refusing to improve just because they just play for fun is... frustrating.
I've had some people complain when I told them they should practise their rotations for 10 minutes, saying "I don't have as much time to play as you do."
This was back during Mists of Pandaria. They were doing 70k dps with similar gear as me, when could do 130k dps. My dps was pretty good and all, but the problem was that my main role wasn't actually dps, it was healer.
Oh, and the same people were upset that I thought having the bronze role challenge as requirement for LFR was really bad a few weeks prior. This despite the bronze challenge barely being a challenge at all and merely a "do you know how to play?" because this was at a time when a lot of people used level boost, so they didn't have time to learn how to play their character.
So yeah, the casual crowd is fun to play with, but there's a difference between casual and casual. Oh, and if you haven't noticed yet, I'm someone who likes talking. You'd think casuals wouldn't mind talking during raids, but they tend to get kind of upset, because since they are casuals, they need to focus a lot to do what they are supposed to do. Poor multitasking ability along with barely meeting the requirements for clearing the content, that can make a raid wipe after all.
Still, these days in retail where people are overgeared due to the Mythic+ garbage, it's not really as big of a deal. Unless someone decides to go to N'Zoth without legendary cape or without understanding the sanity mechanic, there's not really an issue. That would only be an issue for heroic or higher, which I find that a lot of casuals don't really play. Shit, most casuals just stick with LFR, which may be why LFR N'Zoth is harder than the heroic version.
Reddit in phase 2: pvp happened on pvp server. Honor collusion is allowed. Upvote any early rank 14's that were gotten by collusion!
Reddit in phase 4: haha yes dispell those sweaties they deserve it for being on a pvp server!

The time gating is a key factor here. Colluding for rank 14 isn't going to lock you out of something that lasts only 5 days
Tbh, if you started on a pvp server you either didn't have a lot of experience in classic or you like pain. Or both.
The scale is a bit out of hand, but seriously, it's a special type of people who like pvp servers. I'm on a RP-PVE server specifically because i don't like the mindset of a subset of the pvp players. And you only need a minority of assholes to spoil the fun.

I'm from Everlook - EU (luckily a PvE server), I recently went to Silithus to scavenge some mobs to skin. Literally just riding about and skinning dead things, occasionally helping out someone who I saw earlier didn't have skinning as to speed up the process. One time, I got mind controlled by one of the mobs there (didn't know at the time they'd do that), and a mage from my faction just straight up casted Pyro + Fireball at me. When I asked him what the heck that was, he replied that "this is our spot now". After I told him I wasn't even tagging mobs and just trying to help some people to skin, his reply was "well then don't help strangers". People have gone absolutely mad about this shit.

Yeah, this is just way too silly for me to put up with. I've read the other day how people abused the report spamming... kinda makes me think no one should even get that mount! And some people legit thinks this is considered actual "PVP"...!
those people have already been banned so they will now be missing out on the mount themselves.
I had the report system abused on me in AV several years ago, was guarding a bunker to stop the recap and got a "You are afk you have X seconds to get into combat or be removed". Nice to see the system is still as flawed today as it was back then.
Me at release of Classic: Oh boy, this time, after all the times of playing through the original vanilla, the following expansions, the "other" servers, I will finally obtain enough rep with the Nelf faction on my human warrior, thanks to AQ reputation things, to get the Nightsaber mount!
Actual time to do it in Classic: Oh, I missed it... Nvm.
it sucks but it was to be expected, you had time to turn in the shit on day 1 if you were prepared
you can sorta easily get it by doing turn ins via blood(horde) or Crystals(alliance) if you spam AV for a while, or just turn in runecloth for rep I guess, I got raptor training on my orc that way, even got my tauren's rep up to near exalted with all factions too.
Yesterday in my server at Netherwind, Guild RISE invested WEEKS in preparation, got gong first, only to get grieved by people on Total Demise and completely fail their attempt at getting the mount. SOOOO much drama came after

EU-Mograine had a lot of drama, fun pvp and collusion over the last few days. We finished the war effort in time to do AQ as soon as possible mostly thanks to one alliance guild taking matters on both sides into their own hands and colluding with horde guilds to make sure everything would be turned in in time. Silithus had great world PVP come back, that had been missing for quite a while due to layering and some of the bigger guilds splitting world bosses between Horde and Alliance. We also had other guilds that used to be in a coalition together but disbanded due to world boss drama come together again to help each other get their Scarab Lords.
And not to forget: One of the biggest guilds on Alliance side claimed they'd do everything to prevent a certain Horde guild from finishing the green scepter shard, especially in the Eranikus encounter, even setting up night shifts and an extra Discord to ping people when that guild would start, only for that Horde guild to just go to Moonglade at 7pm on a sunday and do Eranikus on their first try.
All in all it has been a fun few days, haven't talked to my guildies that much in quite a while, about 6 guilds are done on Mograine so far with their Scarab Lords and a few more are on their way.
Our guild on Mograine didn't even bother with the whole thing. None of us really cares about the mount, it's all about running AQ for that sweet sweet loot.

I'm on Pagle. The top Alliance guild fucked up and didn't count Copper Bars correctly. They made a post a month before the War Effort and said "Hey, guys. We got this for both factions." so everyone stopped farming. Then the day came, and they were being SUPER salty about it saying that if it's delayed even 12-36 hours, they would start the 10 hour war at like, midnight out of spite. They made a video basically hyping themselves up as the saviors of Pagle and them getting Scarab Lord first. It's fucking laughable and looks like it was made by a 14 year old 10 years ago. Their goal was to be on the "world stage". Well, they did it...but as clowns. This has generated several hundred memes and they are basically the laughing stock of the server now.
yea it's fun too sit back am watch the crap on Pagel
7:39 "wow classic players are like large scale of league of legends players", best part.
How painful to hear
I'm on Faerlina, it was a toxic shit show. The collusion was pretty bad for the first half of the week, the biggest PvP guild on Horde and the biggest PvP guild on Alliance colluded and had complete control of regal. There would be death squads running outside the hive's perimeter and popping sappers, grenades and lips to take out anyone who came within a mile of the hive. By about Friday all of the larger guilds were colluding and it became difficult for guilds that weren't colluding to do much of anything. You'd get messages like "gtfo out of this hive or we'll have the alliance wipe you" and stuff like that. Now that the bigger guilds have gotten most of what they want, the collusion has died down and a lot of the medium sized/smaller guilds can farm in relative peace. That being said, I know that a lot of the guilds who didn't collude aren't contributing to the war effort due to all of the shenanigans during the first week. There's a good chance that we'll miss the first lockout, much to the chagrin of some of the colluding guilds who were rushing to get their carapaces.
Faerlina is Asmonbald's server along with the streamers
Classic is a fuckfest
@@Bitterman5868 The bald man and his streamer buddies are not a factor. Olympus is one of the worst guilds on the server and nobody takes them seriously.
I am playing on horde side on the german server heartstriker. We are around 150 horde against 4000 alliance players and my guild consists out of a third of the horde population. There are some wankers on the horde side from other guilds that are cooperating with the alliance but my guild decided in december that we aint going to do shit for the war effort. In the past few days we have been raiding as a 20-25 man squad trough silithus and we are killing every alliance player that we can find, not to grief them but for pure fun. Their rage is delightful :). For myself I am sniping stuff from the neutral actionhouse and am selling it to vendors or am leveling proffesions with what I can get. 51 stacks woolbandages,
40 stacks rugged leather,

3 stacks linen bandages,
1 stack copper bars
and 8 purple lotus.

15 years ago this was such an epic event, I spent literally weeks just pvping in silithus on my rogue. Also this event was just as drama filled back then.
It's also made me realize what a bleeding meaningless title scarab-lord is... It's just, the person who happened to be in a position of power within a guild requires from it's members that they farm for them, for obscene hours... I genuinly feel it's less impressive than R14... But with the AV ranking meta that's not really saying a lot.
Hi, I lead a guild on Ashbringer EU and I have to say that is not the case with every guild. We have a guy in the guild who isn't even an officer going for the mount. He wasn't very vocal in these 6 months that he's been with us, and you can say that majority of the guild did not know him very well. Yet he took time off work and asked if he can try to go for it. I did not force anyone to help him, yet people still come on their own as the atmosphere is great and we are having fun PVP-ing as a guild in the hives to help pass the time. It has been a very nice bonding experience for everyone involved so far.
We should be done in a day or two, leaving enough time to finish the chain.
So no, not everyone with the mount will be a sweatlord tyrant. 🍻
not every guild is making people farm for them, though there are a lot of guilds like that (some of them even reward loot prio), there are just as many that are farming for someone (not even necessarily the GM) just because they want to
@@ribar4040 I assume ashbringer is hitting the gong early morning as most populated servers, if you are just finishing your grind in a day or two, there is a chance that you won't have time to do the chain, some of the steps can take up to 6 hours if your unlucky, it did for us. Not to mention there's gonna be a lot of other people trying to complete them too, further slowing you down.

My guild sold the silithid carapaces to future Scarab Lords, made 150k gold in a few days. Got a nice chunk of 6k gold from it. The farming was a nice guild activity, we had fun and made plenty of Starship Troopers memes in our guild discord.
The real key to getting it is waiting until Wrath servers open and doing it when everyone else is focused on wrath content.
We had people coming in to our guild discord giving us mafia style shakedowns about how, if we even stepped foot in sithilus we’d be black balled for the duration of classic. Of course, the biggest guild instantly betrayed their collation (which included alliance guilds they were colluding with) and instantly turned in all the raining mats as soon as they had their own scarab lords taken care of. Their correlation had agreed to hold off until the 18th, they did it on the 10th. It was so satisfying seeing them all fall in to chaos.
Fortunately, and with some last minute help from a couple other guilds who are absolute bro’s, our small guild did get our one guy who’d been prepping for months his mount. Didn’t ring the gong until about 4 hours in to the war effort, but it still happened. So happy for that guy and our guild :)
If you want a great example of grieving and politics, and just the general shitstorm that is the war effort and scepter, look no further then Zandalari Tribe EU. Rp-pvp server that was picked as the "safe" home for Praxis, well know ish guild in the TBC private server scen. They have been the controlling faction in all ways, discord, in game, loot and more. They are Apes like in nature and they are The only guild of that kind on ZT. There is so much bad blood and hate between Praxis and pretty much everyone else, yet we cant do shit to get them away from running the game experiance. And now, due to this hate and conflict, Praxis took it pone themselves to complete the war effort, with little help from the alliance and the horde said "F... this shit im out" and have now left the server in disarray as Praxis is forcing other guilds to help them with the war effort and using alts on the horde side to transfer items, farm and more. And its gotten to the point were the praxis members have to kill all but one neutral auctioneer on both sides so they dont have horde buying for exemple peace bloom that praxis is trying to send over to the horde side. There is so much more drama and honestly bannable things going down that its almost making me want to quit the game.
Just play a p server. I dont deal with this insanity.
WTF is this what's happening on Alliance ZT-EU? I guess I'm lucky I rolled horde. This also explains how the war effort was nearly complete in 3 days.
Adding organic and dynamic elements to the situation via griefing "terrorist" elements and corrupt or aggressive guild organizations or cartels actually sounds fun tbh. It adds an exciting dynmic and challenge to otherwise primative and obsolete content. EVE Online players love this kind of shit.
I'll preface with: our guild is one of the largest on our server. We had planned to help one of our members get the sceptre done in time, but after two days of struggling against the cross-faction alliance, we decided to throw in the towel. The whole experience left us all pretty bitter, but the server discord was getting pretty upset with our guild (even started spreading rumors about us), and it became just an over all very toxic situation. It felt pretty bad to just give it up, but for the sake of our guild's reputation on the server, and not waste a week of our members' time on a grind that it looked like we weren't going to complete in time due to competition for tags, it was probably for the best. Although, I'm pretty sure it's going to be policy with a number of our guild members to not group with anyone from the guild that orchestrated this alliance.
I think, if we can get over #nochanges, Blizzard could have prepared the event a bit better. Sure only so many people should be able to get the questline done in time, but servers are bigger and so it would be reasonable to assume that more people SHOULD be able to get the mount than in vanilla. Perhaps a sort of server-size respawn scaling could have been put in place in the hives where larger servers see faster respawns to accomodate the for the larger number of people trying to tag mobs. Or the war effort could have a minimum length of time, say 2 weeks / resets, so that there is less of a rush: the try-hards can get it done in a few days, then everyone else has like a week to get theirs done without the sweaty groups competing for their tags.
But honestly, the whole thing sort of killed my enthusiasm for the game lately. I opened up retail for the first time since subscribing for Classic, and I've just been de-stressing playing solo at my own pace. Feel sort of bad since I'm not on as much to help my guildies, but I just need to step away for a little bit. Toxicity in the community is always what drives me away from games like WoW, and I don't really want it to get to that.
i felt the best way to do the war effort was to make it last a minimum 21 days which was the shortest opening during vanilla and set up dynamic respawns on the silithids to deal with the large influx of players
I think the collusion sucks, but if your guild is one of the largest on the server u just didnt have enough people out there to get a hold. Our guild is a medium sized guild (2 full raid teams and an alt raid) and we are on pace to get one.
@@iandevine3063 perhaps you're right, but the cross-faction alliance included 10-ish guilds on each faction. While the horde were never really a problem since we could deal with them, there were about 3-4 large alliance guilds in there that definitely made it much more difficult.
How exactly is Blizzard supposed to fix the fact that a large part of the Classic player-base are sociopaths??
#nochanges hasnt been a thing since before launch rofl, they could have easily upped the spawn rate or did layering or both
I play on Herod Alliance. I had the most fun in P5 just pvping in silithus solo like I havent had since Phase 2. We have coalitions and world chat has been on fire with bans like I havent seen since phase 2 as well lol. Not much cross faction activity going on from what I've seen (most of the top guilds have xfaction alts but no guilds teaming up). The horde and ally have their own respective hives and not many people try to interfere with the other side. The drama is absolutely amazing though, honestly the part i was waiting for the most. For the war effort alliance is only about 50% done and Horde were furious about it, as well as some ally guild leaders. They tried to make a discord call with all guild leaders on alliance to help with the war effort which turned into a toxic yelling fest (as you can imagine with a bunch of sweaty neckbeards all in one call). I'm in no rush for the gates to open like you as well, it opens when it opens imo.

Wille! Great video! MY guild does not have someone going for a Scrab Lord so we have decided to farm carapaces and sell/ We have someone buying from us for 7g per. I made 2000g just yesterday. Farming all night again today before he buys all the ones he needs! Lots of collusion between horde and ally top guilds on our server too.

Yeah phase 5 disproved that theory LOL
Yup it was either this or how much "harder" PVE content was vs retail lmao.
Classic has a community retail is a single player game. At least in classic it feels like an MMO. I’m on sulfuras horde and 15+ guilds stood in tanaris for over 10 hours to stop an alliance guild from turning in there scarab lord quest. Look up the drama from the guild . Shit like that would NEVER happen in retail
@gstee compared to retail its pretty good
Yep, it does
So Mankrik all of the alliance guild's thought that each of the others were saving resources so didn't and then come a week before the war effort drops we find that out. The last 2 weeks have been people scattering to get a number on what we have and trying to pool what we need.
One of the issues though the guild OSR is one of the largest on the server and is buying most of the resources that are on the AH that are needed and reposting it for much much higher and are effectively holding the war effort hostage.
Bruh lol
Big rip lmao
What i do is I try to help people out and be chill in silithus because man everyone’s in the edge out there 😂
Same. Helping people kill their mobs makes the mobs respawn faster, and builds a bit of a relationship. Expect to try and get beat to the mob, but if you do, help out.
The internet is a wild place and should be. You don't deserve the mount or anything else for that matter. Steal, grief whatever needs to be done to get it done. :)
The chaos is beautiful
I'm glad my wholesome Mograine - EU doesn't have anything like this. The worst I've seen is a multi-boxing Alli Mage. But even then my bf and I farmed like 60 carapaces passively while I did my quest (late af). So we still managed to get a ton of bugs tagged, completed my quests, and got a bunch of carapaces even with the zone being busy. Then again this realm got layered, so I'm sure it'd have been worse if not for that.

Hid our scarab lord inside dungeons and raids to avoid reports lmao

oh and P.S being a scarab lord has turned from a mark of prestige into a mark of shame. i can't be the only one who, when i see someone on this mount immediately think to myself "ahh a colluder, i wonder how many people he fake-reported along with his whole guild to get that mount" and i go out of my way to kick them from my groups if i see them on this mount.
its not jealousy, its the sheer fact that in order to get this mount you _need_ to do all the scummiest things imaginable in the game.. so having it speaks for itself.

Glad we barrely had any drama on my server. The worst that happend was a guild not holding their aggrement on farmspots and even then that was just ... meh whatever. Genuinely had a good time durring the war effort with helping my friends. Joking arround, having some talks while farming fragments etc. Seen a lot of people help each other out aswell. Even if it didnt work sometimes (Giant twillight Corruptor because some didnt know he has an actuall mechanic as example), it was overall a nice thing. Hearing what happend on other servers realy makes me appreciate my server community a lot more.
It's these kind of nerds that ruined it for me, WillE. I wanted to go back into classic to see the things I've missed for years. The problem is that the thing I wanted - goals that required other peoples' help - is a double edged sword. As a result, when I got to level 58/59 I had 7 quests for Strat, for example, and no one would do Strat because it didn't benefit them enough. I managed to get one group who raced through for the orbs and only helped me finish 1 quest because it was on the path they were already going down.
No one wants to enjoy the game anymore, it seems. There's such a sweat-boy meta. Like you said, because so much of the content relies on help from other people, you end up wrapped up in their stupid drama for no reason. I loved when the game launched and we had a large group of people from all skill levels playing because it felt like it did back in the day, albeit with the knowledge of what was to come in content patches. However, as the game progressed and players have dropped off, the only ones left are either these min-maxers who treat the game like a job or people in my position who took a little longer to get to 60 because we have interests outside of the game and treat playing WoW as a stress-relief, not as something to always be 100% at. The latter are squeezed into doing what the former want because most of Classic relies on other people for help.
Don't get me wrong, I totally understand wanting to be the best at something, but how can running the same raid over and over just to get 0.1 seconds faster be fun, especially when everyone is treating each other like shit in order for that to happen?
@Flummer posted something on here about Razorgore - I'm there too and he's 100% right.
Seriously, to the sweat boys who treat this game as if it's some sort of mammoth task that you need to give up your entire life in order to play... why? No one outside of your discord server thinks it's cool at all, and what benefit does a mount from a 15 year old video game give you? I just don't get what was wrong with enjoying a game as a pass-time over getting all stressed about it?
I love the levelling in Classic, but now that I'm 60 and I've done MC/Onyxia, that's enough for me. The politics of the game - mainly, these min max players - ruined it for me. I've gone back to retail because a few of my friends who dropped off before me felt the same. Yes, Retail has a much easier levelling path but I'd argue a more difficult top end in raiding, but the thing I thought I hated (not relying on anyone else and being able to solo all of the content even down to the raids) is actually the thing I think I need these days. The game isn't the problem; the players are. If retail WoW's content was dished out like Classic with no group finder and only one difficulty and attunement quests, it'd be just as much of a shit show.
Wasn't there a quote recently floating around that the game dev's job is to protect the player from themselves? Vanilla did that job in 2004 but it's not capable of dealing with the levels of sweat coming from most players in 2020.
It's rather simple much like the people who bitched when they blitzed to cap and said there wasn't enough end game content classic wow isn't built for your style of play while you are free to play that way don't bitch when the game doesn't cater to it
Thankyou for somehow making my decision to not bother with classic even more justified!

I legit haven't heard of anyone who wasn't in on Classic day one touching the thing in the months that followed. Strong core audience definitely, but it's kind of a club that you're either already in it, or you aren't at this point.
@Jacob Kimble You're taking it really personally.
~450k if all 84 servers have 5k people.
Is that concurrent? Life time? Unique accounts? Characters? Concurrent would mean it's beating CS:GO, (And it's not) lifetime it's nothing special, Unique accounts /somewhat active accounts it's still remarkable. Relatively, without actual hard data with context it's impossible to know if it meets a 'crazy high' standard, especially when compared to other online games.
Fun to watch from a distance. War effort only at 50%, but hey, 1 more chance for an Ashjre’thul to drop before AQ. Hope Blizzard enforces their CoC instead of relying on automated bans.
I saw this coming when Classic was announced. This phase of the game was going to be the almightiest shit show
And it's glorious!

People really are taking this second round of classic seriously... but no matter how much effort they put in, they'll never be as cool as someone who got R14/scarablord on in 2006 :P
I’m on stalaag which is 99% horde, we have been pooling resources and transferring them via the neutral auction house for a couple months now, and it looks like we are gonna schedule the gate opening for the 15th. I just remember in a much earlier video you mentioned how you were interested to see how lopsided servers managed here, so far it’s gone quite well actually.
Just finished my guilds SL had about 10 people grinding since Tuesday around the clock, all sorts of Judy Colludys on my server Thundefury the big horde and ally guilds all in on it. My guild is fairly big and well known but we did it collusion free and without buying tons of frags. It definitely came down to strategy placing our God taggers in regal hives on every Burrower. Rinse repeat a few days and you got a Scepter.
This is why Classic used to be amazing. The new wow is a neutered version of the past
For the top sure for the average player it's basically you have to wait a good few weeks extra before you can play the new content at all and usually without the full experience
On Golemagg-EU, there were few elitist guilds that wanted to claim all scarab lords and they were colliding with horde in order to do so (and they've been colliding with them to grief world bosses since the release of p4), so we just made a coalition with the rest of the server so managed to farm like 10 mounts among like 50 guilds. I was supposed to be the one from my guild, but dropped it in favor of other and I also had IRL stuff to manage at the same time. Than again, these elitist guilds did solo the war effort, but guys you cannot disrespect the whole server, you had this coming and is well deserved.
Kaory here AYAYA.
Netherwind currently has a cross faction mafia that was paid off by one of the bigger guilds on the server. They pitch up inside the hives while the other faction guards the entrance from any non-guildies from entering. It’s a complete scumfest. I walked by one of them on my raptor and they didn’t even hesitate to gloat that it would look pale in comparison to the scarab lord they were going to get. I could care less about the mount but this whole event has really brought out the worst of this community. I’m disappointed in the people that are perpetuating this kind of behavior. Like, it’s supposed to be a united effort to open the gates, not a bunch of people trying to backstab one another.
Knew someone on netherwind who had the gold to bankroll scarab lord, they told him it was 40k if he wanted to reserve a hive and 120k if he wanted people to farm it for him. The problem is after you cough up the gold, they just hire more farmers for their own groups and get horde to mess with you anyways. Never trust the mafia.
It would definitely be a united effort if there was no mount and title reward.
Idk if your on horde or alliance but I know the horde on that sever are black listing the guilds that fucked everyone. There is one guild that didn’t pay and got all there bugs.
Actually the Mafia is allowing more Scarab Lord than 1 per server. As of last night Netherwind is going to have like 13 on Ally side alone. Rise is sweaty enough that they could have made it so no one got scarab lord.
Also you can get gold by helping collect in the hives. Not sure why your so angry for.
Im not participating at all, im on gehennas were apes and saladbakers have their monopoly, but i love seeing the drama :P
Bans did go out for same faction world boss griefing; I see this the same when guilds can stop same faction competition, by having their colluding partner wipe them out. Our server has colluding factions at the same place on different layers and when competition shows up the opposite faction guild will layer hop.
Alliance on Mankrik don't really seem to give a shit about the war effort lol
That's cuz there's like 10 of them
its cuz they're looking for his wife, no time for the war effort...
@@SmHz7392 we're alliance, we don't give 2 wet turds about his wife
On my server, I feel it’s the perfect balance of the best of both worlds. In my casual raiding guild, we managed to be the first Horde guild to complete the chain because of the sheer number of people we could bring to occupy an entire cave at all hours of the day due to people having different work schedules, people getting time off, and people working remotely. However, the biggest factor for us was that we became really good friends through playing with each other and wanted to get someone Scarab Lord in our guild. It was the first time we really tried in all of Classic and even beat out those who were preparing from launch because we were able to farm faster than they could buy them. However, we were met with challenges along the way. There are a faction of 10-14 players who just go around tanking and griefing all day (mostly rogues) on the Alliance side. The green shard was infinitely more difficult with 2 or 3 of them there. I’m glad we were the first and kept under the radar because it could’ve been much worse, especially on some other servers. I’m not even sure how they would manage it without being a guild full of orange parsers if there were griefers. However, it really sparked a lot of PvP in the open world, and it this feels like the most lively time of WoW Classic’s timeline. I feel like these medium-low pop servers still maintain the true essence of what vanilla World of Warcraft used to be like. Where anything was possible as long as you had good people with you. I’m absolutely loving this patch so far.
Didn’t realize this comment section was mostly negative, consider me grateful to be in great community on a great server.
You don't see bad people because Classic is bad, you see bad people because Classic is good. It's good enough to create its own world and not just a theme park with police near every corner. It's good enough so that even players who can only feel better about themselves by ruining life for others can exchange creativity and effort to their kind of reward. That's why all the predictions about WoW Classic dying in the first months after the initial nostalgia settles were wrong. It is a world, it's alive, that's why there's also negative emotion there - being alive isn't all about flowers and butterflies. And that's why people keep coming back.
@Jacob Kimble retail player here. To be honest i don't care how well classic does. Just enjoy what you like. I'm exited that shadowlands is around the corner. But saying classic is good so there's toxic player is stupid. Is bfa good because there are toxic players aswell? This is taking things too much. Guilds ruining the fun for others. Classic was great because it was new. Not many people cared about min maxing everything. But people changed. It's good that classic does well. But the toxic behaviour of some people make it look bad. Progress is nice and all. But it should be fun and not feel like work.
it's funny how the Horde and Alliance are coming together to accomplish something
kind of like all those expacs they seem to hate so much
Rofl, back then WoW was considered the carebear of MMOs due to it's userfriendly stuff like no exp or loot loss on death.
Today it's a "toxic safespace where everything is permitted" lawl. It speaks volumes of where we've gotten.
Mankrik (35/65 horde population) has the top alliance guild (1000 players) boosting several horde guilds so we can help farm supplies for them too. At the end of the day, none of us can get into AQ without both factions turning stuff in. I think its dope people are helping each other.
Probably bc we're a PVE server but I've actually enjoyed hanging out in Silthus these last few days
Ahh, the vaunted 'community' I've heard so much about. :^)

More like US Neckbeardfury.
"it is a game at the end of the day"..... do you know who your addressing in this statement?!?!? 99% of people ok yea. but that sweaty 1% who live every waking moment in their basement hashing out more farm & gold, who's lives don't exist outside this digital realm to them IT'S EVERYTHING.

@@LarvaS-hj1eq hmm. I'd have to say it's what gives Classic its NEW soul. Classic may be the same but the players are those who have changed. Yes, this is exactly what we wanted. This is what MMOs are about, if you want to get along with everyone and build a commune, go play Animal Crossing.
Yeah in classic you can either join one of the guilds dominating Silithus or not get to play the content. So 2 ways. Sounds amazing.
People will be people no matter where you are or what you are doing. That is what Classic and the AQ event brings to light.
Alliance try-hard guild(s) got ganked in BRM on speed run week, so they camped the place for weeks straight making it impossible for horde to enter buffed as revenge.
Same guild(s) completed war effort in a couple of days while horde are still on 10-20%. Asked try-hard horde guilds why they're not doing anything, horde told alliance to do it themselves. Entire alliance side now mass farming and xferring wool cloth.
Very funny.

Griefing is very much tollerated by blizzard. Little example from Bloodfang:
A member of a certain swedish only horde guild with several accounts has been camping DM F (mulgor) with his guild / multibox swarm and used his level 60 alliance priest (controled by himself) to mind controle horde players so he could then kill them with his little army of friends (or multiboxed characters).
This went on for hours and there was a life recording of it where you could even see them pretargeting the next victim before the alliance priest jumped out from cover to start the MC process. He got reported by entire guilds with the evidence provided and there were no consequences to speak of.
Worldbuff dispelling? - It's not griefing because you are on a pvp server so that's just what it is.
MC drowning people during boat rides - forcing a spirit ress or 2-3 death before getting back into safe waters? - again, it's a pvp server, so it can't be griefing.
At this point I honestly do not know what Blizzard considers griefing and how many accounts you have to buy under your name in order to make yourself immune against any such allegations, but it certainly feels like that very little, if anything at all, is beeing done to prevent this kind of behavior.
Thank goodness I got to do this in vanilla as a teen.... Because I have no time for that anymore lol. Got my mount awhile ago :3
Love the drama and the whole politics game in classic wow. Even mafia thing and collusion is fun, because players actually talk with other players and create coalitions etc. The only thing I hate is layering and right click report auto ban feature, should've been removed from the game since the beggining.
The drama is so retarded
Just sad spergs arguing with sad spergs
I blame the APES/ private server crowd. They set this bullshit standard for the classic playerbase and people jumped on board.
facts, this is private server ppl who brought this toxicity, i heard some real shit what happen on those servers, which had me staying far away from private servers
why don't you blame blizzard for making the servers 5x bigger on Classic than they actually were in vanilla, which causes massive over competition and causes this type of shit?
Why did you rerecord your outro? The old version was way more hypnotic.
Bloodsail Buccaneers, fragments are 6-9g on the AH. trade buyers are advertising 3g. War effort at 55%ish. Waaaaayyyyy too many people still think they have a shot at the mount when they should have dropped out already - perhaps my guild's scarab lord hopeful included in that. But it's been relatively chill farming. instant tags of course, and a couple of guilds being recognized server wide as just a bunch of assholes. We'll probably miss 2-3 lockouts for AQ. Too many bugs for my taste, but fun while it lasts I guess. Definitely building fond memories once the bugs have settled and we get a couple days to sleep normal.
if you didnt think pvp servers were cancerous before, now you know
Did you forget phase 2? Probably suppressed those memories from the trauma right?
I knew PvP servers were cancerous shitholes back when I was playing on a private server. Human warrior, was going for my WW axe and farming bloodscalp trolls in STV near GG of course. I got sniped by horde so many times. I hate that part of the game and I've never played on PvP servers since.
the whole point of the prestige of it, was people did not know months and months in advance how it was gonna go and require.
And so the grind started on patch day(or maybe ptr? I don't think there was a ptr back then no?), and it was a real race to gather, and turn in. And real war EFFORT.
Ayyy last time I was this early WoW was a dramaless game.
But there was a ton of drama in vanilla though.

Hey WillE!
About the collusion part.

Seems you missed that one :)
How they interpret the "otherwise communicate directly with players" part well I guess thats difficult with todays standards of discord and such. But there is a reason you could only play one faction per server back in the day.
And there are rules set in the game just not people enforcing them well enough.
All the mass reporting, same faction griefing, real world currency selling of the titles makes classic community look really fucking bad. The amount of scum that bubbled onto the surface since the patch is insane, even within my guild i lost a few "Friends" because of their behavior.
Blizzard should have acted when this sort of thing started happening on world bosses, it was happening on a lesser scale but enough to see what the future holds. Even now I hope they will issue some bans(Making people doing this miss out on mounts) for the biggest offenders.
Honestly this paints such an ugly picture of the entire community, even EvE Online community, where this type of behaviour is not only allowed but encouraged, would shake their heads at some of the scumfuckery thats been happening in WoW classic.
It’s not because it’s Classic WoW, or even just WoW. It’s because of the mount and title reward. The same would happen to any MMO if they had an extremely limited to-be-unobtainable reward like that.
The EVE community is a lot more advanced at this sort of shittyness than the WOW community i fear. It's popcorn time for them :)
On Shazzrah eu, certain guilds control silithus hives allowing no other guilds to participate. Our guild has decided not to pursue the mount because of this. Also both factions are not returning the low level materials at all.
That's what you get when you have bunch of people driven by nostalgia. Everyone wanna make up what they couldn't back then and will do anything to make it happen. There's no Vanilla WoW experience on Classic, it's just overlay prepared tryhards competing on imbalanced mechanics by design.
