Just a few months ago I had the great opportunity to be at the Glenn Gould Institute in the city of Toronto at the Royal Conservatory of Musician in a concert of finalists. BEAUTIFUL
I first heard this music in the late 70's or early 80's at Secondary School when the English teacher showed us the beginning of the film Slaughterhouse Five. Liked it so much I actually took one of my reel to reel tapes to school to this teacher and asked if he was able to record this music onto it. He did and it was great to be able to play it back at home. Even said to record it on fastest speed of 7 1/2 i.p.s. in order to get best quality recording!

In a slightly earlier age of piano-musicianship, the Horowitz approach, with its seeming extreme-gentleness and naturalness, was not nearly as rare as the present day. His recodings of the same piece are even sweeter, if possible, and reveal the heart-essence of Schubert as few musicians could.

pura expresividad... realmente hay "nada" (un vacío material): pareciera que el piano solo es una excusa. Música, y nada más.
Glenn Gould can be a bit hit or miss. I don't like his Wohltemperierte at all, but at other times he just digs out every single thing there is to be had from a piece like here.
Je ne peux pas écouter d'autre pianiste pour ces concertos. Même cet enregistrement qui craque est mieux réalisé que beaucoup de productions actuelles (par exemple trop de basses ou de réverb).
