This is the first time I have ever seen this YT channel!!! as someone who has supported the app for years and ENJOYED IT I can say I am very proud that it has grown into much more!!!
You guys get it. No hype. No crap. Only facts and precise info. Clear to understand and I very much appreciate that. You Rock!!
Try watching Ryan Hall Y'all here on YT.
Go watch tropical tidbits if you want better.
Billy....check out tropical tidbits. ... dr. Levi cowen
An excellent source of tropical events. His not b.s. reporting is top notch
This is a superb time for us Floridians to learn about this channel. Thanks so much for the concise report about Ian.
I live in panhandle and this is the most thorough and clear depiction of the storm I have come across. Look forward to more reports. Thank you.
Panama City doesn't need another hurricane right now!
I live in Panama City beach. It’s definitely gonna come straight to us
@@airlinena yeah if it does head this way it’s gonna flatten everything, there’s no trees to cut the wind

Good luck to everyone down there. I've lived through 10 named storms. Faye caught me off guard.
Good day to all, from me here in Barbados. I hope everyone who is in the path of the storm stay safe.
Thanks for the update. You guys are the best!
First time watching your channel.....Mr. Cappucci rocked it!
Fantastic job on explaining the storm and the forecast! I learned more about hurricane forecasting with this video than I have watching years of local news forecasting.
I do not agree!
Love this app and the very detailed news reporting! Thank you!
Thank you for this forecast. It really helps.
Thanks Erica
Love the weather reporting 👍
Ty Erica and Matt for that breakdown and great explanation of what's going on with Ian. I am in Tampa area and ready
Good job. Love your explanation.
Thank you Erica.
Wouldn’t mention this on someone’s personal post but since it is in the title and it’s a professional post… the contraction ‘it’s’ ALWAYS means ‘it is’ so the title actually reads ‘Tropical Storm Ian & it is Possible Track’. If you want to show possession, the pronoun is simply ‘its’ just like ‘his and hers’ no apostrophe in any of them. With the apostrophe’ in this word (it) it only ever and always means ‘it is’. Substitute those words in whatever you are writing and you will never again be confused as to which to use. This doesn’t apply to a person’s name or to other nouns the apostrophe in those words does indeed make it possessive.
The title could have left it’s out altogether!
Thank you for the basic grammar lesson but that word isn’t even in the title?!?!
@@retroplank lol- it used to be! I guess my comment had some use after all… got the title changed!
@@retroplank I said they could have left the word it’s out of the title
Don’t really care. A Hurricane destroys people and their grammar. Grow up.
Awesome video. 🙂👍
👍 thanks guys.
Very good explanation of a storm
Damn. Good stuff people. First time seeing this channel. Great job Erica and Matt knows his sh@t; love the analogies.

Live north of Destin. Opal was my first hurricane experience. Lost our sailboat when hurricane Michael hit Panama City. Time to start tying things down.

*TEXAS....Brace yourself* ! . Once Ian hits the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico , it will take a path to it's warmer waters. *My opinion* .
@Mr J music
*The message went right over your head* : *It was about Preparation* , which is important in regards to *Hurricanes* .
*I see nothing funny in my comment* ! 🙄Anytime a hurricane is situated in the Gulf of Mexico, it's a potential *threat* to coastal cities in TEXAS . A hurricane can make a change in direction at *ANY* time, and become a threat to a different area. The Gulf of Mexico's waters are warm now, and favorable to a hurricane . Maybe you should read my comment *again* . *It is not meant to be laughed at* . I didn't laugh when it wrote it, and I respect the weather. *Period* . *No need to respond to this comment* , for I am done trying to educated you. *Prayers for all* .
that spin graphic i need that in the app!

I was curious as to why you feel that the GFS model is more likely to verify , especially since it seems to be on an island by itself as most of the other models have ticked back to the east to varying degrees ? Is there science behind your thoughts or is it sort of a hunch or gut feeling? This is what makes weather fascinating to me, especially tropical weather. I was sort of thinking that it would be challenging for Ian to cross through that wind shear without being directed to the NE . Also if it begins to move in the same direction as the shear wouldn't that negate some of the weakening that is forecast prior to landfall ?
I live in Lehigh Acres Florida. What's the status for Fort Myers Area.
Heavy rain even if no direct hit
Always get bands of rain when hurricane passing thru
Seems close to fort meyers at this point
At this point I would start preparing as though it's heading directly to you,...the key word being PREPARE. This setup could easily become a similar situation like Charlie back in 2004. If you're prepared you can act accordingly. If nothing ends up happening, consider it a "gift" and be thankful.
Thank you, be safe everyone 🙏❤️
Is the storm move away from the cayman islands
Will this come near Charlotte NC?
I live in Chapel Hill...
IF it does come near Charlotte, I'd guess it would "just be" the most western edge of the storm. but that would really surprise me. Honestly, I think its far to early to tell. With what's coming out of the west US, I think this will go far into middle and eastern NC. Maybe just eastern...
I remember when The Weather Channel had coverage like this
I remember when Weather Underground had coverage like this
Now it's you guys. Please stay good and stick to the weather 😁
I started watching the weather channel back when Jim Cantore was a noob, lol.
Check out Ryan Hall Y'all on UA-cam. He is my weather guy for storms. Local weather doesn't come close.
@@carolmyers6678 yeah I like him too. Reed Timmer is also great.

@@carolmyers6678 I know, right!?!. He’s actually been to our city a few times!
Please do a graph of the historical lows since the beginning of record keeping. It's not the record high temperatures that scare me, it's the regular low temps 10 degrees above average that are frightening.
I live in tampa Florida, but I hope I dont die ❤

All my people near Panama City let’s just hope man ❤
My gf and I are suppose to fly out on Wednesday and will arrive at 9:31pm will we actually make this trip? Or is gonna be most likely cancelled?
What city you going to?
Depends are where you're going in Fl
By Wed pm.will.be floods.
I would make trip second wk in Oct.
Never go to fl in Aug or Sept
Please make it go away. lm still recovering from Hurricane Michael
At the very least it’ll take out more dead trees from Michael. Over last year we’ve had a lot of fallen dead trees in S Ga. Unbelievable Cat 3 made a mess here, not to extent Mexico Beach got.
The models are pushing back east again landfall around Sarasota, FL if I had to guess. Get ready for the cone to shift again
Most of the models as for right now are leaning more towards the west but we are still 5 days away from the storm. So the pattern can still shift east as well. Hope not!
@@SassyGurl_1 not sure what models you're looking at, but as of now and the updates on tropical tidbits the west coast of Florida looks like where it's going
@@zachhudson8345 That's what I said! Ian is shifting more to the west of Florida. So it looks like it will make landing near the panhandle.
I'm probably wrong, but I'm thinking south of Tampa/ west coast of the peninsula.
@@zachhudson8345 maybe you should re-read your original post, to understand why people are confused about your response. You state” it’s shifted back to the east….”
This is my first hurricane - in in freeport fl- hammock bay. Anyone know if this area is prone to flood or get hit by hurricanes like Ian?
Plan like it is. Safer that way.

@@chrismaile617 thanks, I'm having a hard time even finding my evacuation location, but I'm seeing things up to go if necessary and bringing stuff in the house from outside. Thanks for answering. I'm used to blizzards- I know what to do about those lol!

I have a question, how come no news weather network channel doesn't give the public information that weatherman plus does? Check him out. I've known about this system for 2 weeks.
so how much landmass will.ian cover ..... ??? This is a cat 4 like Andrew and Andrew was almost half of Florida in size .....
Francis was worse. She took my wife from me.
Andrew was a CAT 5
Not all are same. Depends on how fast the hurricane moves. Slower the move more rain gets dumped.
Some hurricanes produce tornados.

Prepare and then shake in your boots! You wanted the Sunshine State. This comes with it. Get off UA-cam and grab your sandbags!
@@williammitchell4417 OH William! I'm SO sorry!
I live in destin I wonder how bad it will be for me
European model shows difference than the American model. Eu model over Time statistically ahows more accurate.
Swanee River area landfall, like one years ago is my prediction.
I live in Pensacola, are we in danger?
You must be new to FL
Just prepare.
How soon will you be able to tell us exactly where the storm is going to hit? 24 hours prior to landfall?
Even then it’s not guaranteed.
30 minutes.
In 2004 we had a hurricane that was projected to hit a lot north in the state, and it shifted with about 4 hours notice. If you’re in the cone, prepare like you’re going to get hit directly :)
@@cptemilie I was there for that one. Lost power for 3 days.
Most likely. Hurricanes can make last minute turns.
Just be prepared if u live in FL🤷
My ex colleague is called Ian aka Orange Omant. He misses the Easter eggs I used to buy him.
Please come to Texas
We need a Mexican enema
The Lord is my Shepherd he will help us
My forecast: Nobody knows anything.
Just kidding. This storm has had the most haphazard predictions I’ve ever seen. No one knows where it will go. The same thing happened with Katrina and Harvey.
That little joke in the beginning was stupid. People actually die from hurricanes
Not even funny!!
Having been through some major hurricanes in various places, you are exactly correct: nobody knows where it's going or what it will do. Best thing to do is just be vigilant and ready to act.

Kingston is not the name of the country. It is Jamaica, Kingston is its capital.
1:26 - "As you can see, it will come close to the Gulf of Mexico..." -- ERRR, NO. Unless it hits the VERY south tip of Florida and goes north, it's going to go right THROUGH the Gulf of Mexico. Everything west of Florida there IS the Gulf of Mexico.
5:01 - EGRR and UKM, you got some 'splainin' to do. - Signed, Tampa Bay Area 😉
5:56 - That's southWESTERN Georgia, not southeastern.
Nobody knows where it will go or what it will do beyond 24-48 hours. For all we know, it will do a loop da loop in the Gulf before heading to TX.
@@lizzybeth1012, actually they DO know what it will do, within a range of possibilities. That's called WEATHER FORECASTING. It's what the folks at MyRadar do. If you were paying any attention at all, you would see I was commenting on what was SAID on the video, not what the storm is going to do.
@@odonovan actually nobody can predict with any accuracy outside 24 hours. Yes, they can formulate an educational guess within a range of possibilities, but that range covers only what they know. There are many variables they don't know. Most of your criticism here refers to more editing mistakes than anything else. Overall, I appreciated the comprehensive details in this video.
