I am having an itchy raised rash all of a sudden from using the Estradiol patch. The first 30 days or so of using it I didn’t have a problem at all. I know the brand changed when they increased it to .75 to the Llylan brand but even before they did increase, I was having the rash with the .5 with the Mylan brand. Due to taking Leva thyroxine I cannot take the estradiol pills so I have to be able to take the patch. Is this something I really need to be worried about? Because the rash is raised and very itchy and eventually turns dark.
Depends on the bio identical hormones. Are you using Estriol alone cream? Then you are not getting Estradiol. Are you using an 80/20 or bi-estro 2.5 or 1.25? Then you are getting both Estriol & Estradiol in a ratio of 80% Estriol & 20% Estradiol or 2 mg Estriol & 0.5 mg Estradiol. The previous is over the counter if you are taking a prescription then you need to check the label, the compounding pharmacy, or your doctor that prescribed it, your chart could be checked for that information.
