hello doctor, i have a question after a transvaginal mesh removal i now have urinary retention, i always have 200ml residual so im using 6 catheters a day, urologist recommended Premarin 3 times a week, i am 69 and I have been having UTIs because of self cath, my question is does Premarin cream in my vagina and urethra can cause me more UTIs because of cross contamination? my urethra suffers because of self cath, should I also use vaginal probiotics because of taking some many antibiotics because of UTIs?
That it would cause blood clots and put me at risk for breast cancer! I was DENIED my estradiol vaginal cream! Another doctor said I could not get ANY future HRT unless I had mammograms every 6 months!!!
@DebbiAnn2 I've been using it on my face and just under my chin area, but not on the lower throat area where our thyroid is. I've had great noticeable results, especially around my eyes and upper neck where the skin is thinner. Papers have been published an increased effectacy using a aha/bha with it.
Another infuriating issue is the fact that many doctors will hold a woman's vaginal estrogen cream "hostage" unless she submits to a mammogram. I want to have the right to refuse and decide when or if I want a mammogram! Also, there should be a worldwide class action lawsuit against the WHI researchers who have essentially brought quality care of women to a standstill for 20 years now due to their inferior "study".
@@mtntm5628 The WHI's flawed so called "study" is still having a negative impact on women two decades later! My point regarding mammograms is predicated on the fact that vaginal estrogen cream has no risk of breast cancer therefore, prescriptions should not be held as a condition of getting a mammogram.
Yes. My Dr also wanted me to get a Colonoscopy and a Lung Cancer screening. Since I didn’t comply with that I got no HRT. She playing around with my life!
I am convinced that some doctors don’t want women to have control of their lives and health. They want women to be sick and dependent on the system in order to make money out of them.
@@judyclaudett1474 And for older women on medicare, many plans don't cover Estring because the price is higher than creams and they say it's "too convenient" for women so let them get something else.
I love this video and hope it will lead other women to the relief of vaginal estrogen. After starting a new medication to treat a chronic illness, I suffered constant bladder and yeast infections. My urologist said the new medication had “tipped me over the edge” and was causing the infections because my estrogen was so low post-menopause. Vaginal estrogen was life-changing. I haven’t had a bladder or yeast infection in years and will never willingly give up this medication. Thank you for being such a great source of education.
GREAT INFO!!! I was scared to use Premarin vaginal estrogen, but after a few days, the difference made it worth the risk. Recurring UTIs are also a pain, so hopefully, just using it twice a week after the 2-week face will suffice 🙏🏾
Thank you for all of this very needed information. I have used some of this newly acquired knowledge to help convince my doctor to write me a prescription for vagina estrogen, and it wasn’t easy. Thank you for your information. But I feel our medical system mostly run by men doesn’t really address women’’s health care, especially post menopausal women. Even if our doctor prescribes vaginal estrogen, the cost is out of sight. My point is, a women’s body needs estrogen in some quantity or our bodies just decay as we age. Yes you will have to use vaginal estrogen for the rest of your life if you want to prevent all the vaginal problems after menopause. Your body will never produce estrogen anymore. Is the estradiol vaginal tab supposed to be prescribed starting at once a day for 14 days? My provider prescribed twice a week and it's been a couple of weeks and I feel like I could use the 14 day starter to kind of get things going.....
Is it okay to use vaginal eatradiol tablet (Vagifem) AND an estradiol estradiol vaginal cream to put on the outside tissues? Is that too much estrodial and would using both cause endometrial cancer?
I have heard different doctors on UA-cam say that it is systemic .. my personal experience is that immediately after I started like 1 week I noticed increased breast size chin acne and spotting …. This does suggest it travels systemically… right ?
I discovered ESTRIOL,almost 25 years ago. The only way I could get it was thru a naturopath. Thank goodness I did. It works great. My mother suffered from vulvadynia. It was painful for her, and at that time, I didn’t know about Estriol. When I started to experience the nerve pain, my naturopath had it compounded for me. It worked great. I’ve never had a positive mammo, colonoscopy, or any other scare. Just saying, it really does work, and I do my regular cancer screenings like everyone should.
Today 9/20/24 I was prescribed estradiol vaginal tabs. Pharmacist warned me of blood clots, heart attacks etc.😂 what about hyperplasia? I had Atypical hyperplasia about 5 years ago.
Thank you. Estradiol is the best thing that happened to me. I use it vaaginally, once a week and that works. Now can you talk about low progesterone? Thanks again.

I tried Estradiol. Unfortunately, I had a weird allergic reaction to it. A sore throat & loss of voice for 2 months. I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true. At first, I thought it was seasonal allergies or a cold, but it wouldn’t go away, even after taking medicine. It wasn’t until I stopped the Estradiol that my throat got better. My dr switched me to Imvexxy which has been a game changer. I have vaginal atrophy, & Imvexxy works like a charm. The biggest concern I have with this drug, however, is the risk of getting endometrial cancer. My dr told me Imvexxy doesn’t cause cancer, but the worry is always in the back of my mind. Can you get endometrial cancer from Imvexxy or not?
I finally got a doctor who would prescribe me a vaginal cream, but he gave me an estrone cream... I can't find much information about it, you ever so briefly mention it here, can you elaborate?
But why when you look for info about it they tell you all those terrible effects like breast cancer , etc and my doctor mention it a while ago and the I got prescribed with it
You mention it does not go to other parts of the body but does that include the uterus, seeing as the estrogen is right there? I thought I read something about may not be good if you have endometriosis, is that true? I have no symptoms of endometriosis that I know of but years ago I had an ovary removed due to a large cyst, and the doctor after said I had endometriosis after removing it. Is it still safe to take vaginal estrogen if a person has endometriosis? Also does endometriosis go away after a woman has gone into menopause? Love your videos, you are a life saver!
Has anyone gotten headaches from vaginal estradiol? I used to get migraines for decades on Estradiol birth control pills….almost never do anymore…I’m 58 post menopausal….but recently started vaginal estradiol and have been getting headaches….could be psychosomatic because of the fear of them coming back. They were debilitating and I had them 15 days out of every month for decades….just curious if this is possible because I know it’s not a systemic distribution
I found I got headaches when I first used my full prescribed dose of V Estrogen that was conjugated equine. I backed off the full dose and then got prescribed a different formulation that was not conjugated equine. Great results and no headaches.

I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago. I was told by my gyn that vaginal estrogen is safe since it stays locally in the vaginal area but I personally haven't used it cuz I have health anxiety so I get scared of taking meds... But now that I am 55 years old I would like to start using it for dryness and atrophy which is very common in woman at my age or even younger. I like to watch Utube videos to get information on different topics, but I don't want to ask for medical advise from a medical physician via utube because since they don't know my medical history it's a liability for them to respond but I do understand how you feel. I hope you get some clarity soon. 😊
I don't know if it helps but stopping the hrt would be more risky than being on the meds especially to your bones. It also depends on your age if your of a premenopause age it's beneficial but after a menopausal age you may be able to stop or decrease it over time and go through menopause without much harm (I would discuss this with your doc first though). If you have a doc you talk with regularly I'd talk to them or see a hormone specialist who should be able to answer your questions. This may sound weird but the ones who would know the most about these hormones meds would be drs who mostly work with Trans patients as they're the ones who prescribe them the most and specialize in these specific kinds of hormones. If you decide to go through menopause/stop the meds then an gyn/dr specializing in menopause would probably be the best. I wish you luck ^^ Obligatory not an MD just a naurodivergent individual with a medical fixation so I have a tendency to read a lot of medical literature and wanted to be a Dr (life got in the way of that).
@@utube0372 I believe so. Some endocrinologist specialize it working with Trans patients and HRT since these can come with unique circumstances Your more likely to find them in larger cities as many endocrinologist you find in small towns tend to deal more with diabetic patients or thyroid patients than necessarily HRT (they will still know about HRT and be able to prescribe it but more than likely they would have less experience with it)

I read the ingredients and it has mythelparaban and sodium laurel sulfate??
That's truly amazing..
Is it the otc Estriol that you are using?
@@Guddilove801 no, prescribed by my internist now. 20 years ago, they wouldn’t prescribe it. Now he will.
Why is it that every single time I use estriol vaginal cream I sleep really good?
Estriol is nice lol. Low estrogen is a nightmare for sleep
I had a blood clot about 12 yrs. ago. My Dr. says No estradiol my uro says it will help for UTI's I'm torn ???
1 gram of estridol cream twice a week for one year would equal only 1 estrogen pill. That's a fact. My Urologist/ Gynecologist informed me of that.
Can you use it in conjunction with oral estrogen?
Today 9/20/24 I was prescribed estradiol vaginal tabs. Pharmacist warned me of blood clots, heart attacks etc.😂 what about hyperplasia? I had Atypical hyperplasia about 5 years ago.
Can you use vaginal estrogen while on your menstrual cycle or spotting
im not post menopause but i am late peri-can i still use vag. estrogen?
Thank you. Estradiol is the best thing that happened to me. I use it vaaginally, once a week and that works. Now can you talk about low progesterone? Thanks again.
I finally got a doctor who would prescribe me a vaginal cream, but he gave me an estrone cream... I can find much information about it, can you say more on this? In Canada btw.
From Canada as well. Estrone isn’t sufficient for the vaginal area. You want Premarin, Vagifem, or Estrace.
@@BLE000 Thank you! Do you know of an estradiol cream prescribed in Canada? I have a referral but expect it could take months.
@@michellewhitehead1922I am on the hunt for Estrace. I have been on Premarin cream, and it works great, however I would like to try the Estrace cream. Oh, as well, I am also on Vagifem. They work well for me. 😊
why are you not addressing endometrial cancer from vaginal estrogen?
Please tell us more. Thanks.
I've taken a low dose vaginal estrogen and my hot flashes came back as well as my thyroid swelled. I don't believe that it is Not systemic. Id use progesterone.
Thanks for sharing!
Breast cancer is discussed. I had a systemic cancer in my uterus.
From vaginal estrogen?
Thank you 😊
I finally got a doctor who would prescribe me a vaginal cream, but he gave me an estrone cream... I can't find much information about it, you ever so briefly mention it here, can you elaborate?
But why when you look for info about it they tell you all those terrible effects like breast cancer , etc and my doctor mention it a while ago and the I got prescribed with it
Thank you
You mention it does not go to other parts of the body but does that include the uterus, seeing as the estrogen is right there? I thought I read something about may not be good if you have endometriosis, is that true? I have no symptoms of endometriosis that I know of but years ago I had an ovary removed due to a large cyst, and the doctor after said I had endometriosis after removing it. Is it still safe to take vaginal estrogen if a person has endometriosis? Also does endometriosis go away after a woman has gone into menopause? Love your videos, you are a life saver!
Did you find out?
I am using estradiol vaginal cream and I have so much bloating, gas and loose stool. Are those side effects of it?
No
No, but those are symptoms of parimenopause, postmenopause without using HRT.
If I'm using vaginal estrogen and still have my uterus, do I have to take anything to protect my uterus?
My dr gives me progesterone along with the estrodial because I still have my ovaries
Is it true that women should abstain from sexual intercourse for 24 hrs. after inserting a vaginal estrogen tablet - ie, vagifem?
False! It's fine just your preference!!! Wont hurt anyone!
Can they help with melasma, as i m 43, and my sis advised me to use it for atleast three months, as hormonal imbalance due to age causing it, and that this can help it, as she is 47 and it helped her in her melasma to some extent. I m lil apprehensive whether to use it before menopause, as my periods are regular. And i am hypothyroid and on thyronorm 62.5
Will taking vaginal estrogen make me gain weight?
Does it cause weight gain
My doctor said all these creams affect you. Nothing is without risk.
Thank you Now I fee more safe to use vaginal östrogen
What is with that stupid annoying background sound!!!??? Irritating AF!
Estrodiol is good
leaving the group since you dont know about my therapy nor have an opinion. It bothers me that I cant get anyone to answer me about what hormone replacement I use. I inject estradiol and testosterone monthly since my hysterectomy 18 years ago. I want to know if it is harmful and I cant get any answers from anyone
I wish you luck ^^
Obligatory not an MD just a naurodivergent individual with a medical fixation so I have a tendency to read a lot of medical literature and wanted to be a Dr (life got in the way of that).
@@ThanatosMist very interesting, I might look up that specialist myself, would this be like an endocrinologist?
@@utube0372 I believe so. Some endocrinologist specialize it working with Trans patients and HRT since these can come with unique circumstances
Your more likely to find them in larger cities as many endocrinologist you find in small towns tend to deal more with diabetic patients or thyroid patients than necessarily HRT (they will still know about HRT and be able to prescribe it but more than likely they would have less experience with it)
@@ThanatosMist My primary care provider prescribed me the orally estrogen pills and also the estrogen cream but a few years ago when I had tried taking these I got very sick with palpitations
And my thyroid levels went out of wack so I had to stop but now she is recommending I try it again.... So I'm scared to try estrogen again... Actually I don't have hot flashes just the dryness down there lol I'm 55 years old, but I would love to actually find something natural for that issue instead of taking estrogen so I was going to take your advice and seek that specialist to ask them, do I realllly need to take oral estrogen to prevent heart attacks... And all that stuff they claim will happen if I don't start estrogen 🙈😭
I would ignore any doctor who told me to ignore an FDA black box warning.
And doctor
For how long can we use the vaginal cream??
