Important! Do NOT get the USB-C Apple Penic if you’re planning to use your iPad creatively. It does not have pressure sensitivity, which makes it practically useless for anything but note taking or being used as a cursor. The Gen 1 Apple Pencil is way better functionally, even though it lacks the convenience of the magnetic attachment or USB-C.
In my experience, even the older iPad 9th generation holds perfectly as a substitute for student laptop. On 9 and 10 can use mouse and keyboard, it doesn’t have stage manager, which might be only problem for people needing more than 2 or 3 apps paralelly, and is light to carry and hold, which is really appreciated. For typing or writing down notes, reading materials online, and even fun as gaming or video watching, iPad 10 is more than enough. As for any coding, 3d design and/or other heavier apps, especially on college/university (at least in my experience) you’ll need a computer of any type, however you turn it around, which is more of the iPadOS problem than the hardware in iPads.
You’re better off buying last years iPad Pro, yes it costs more than the iPad Air but it comes with all the things you mentioned are missing from the Air except that the camera is on the top rather than the side of the iPad. I personally got the 12.9 M2 iPad Pro and it’s awesome. I mainly got it for the speakers and the Pro Motion display. I used a price match at Best Buy and got a 256GB version for $970 which is awesome in my book
Just got the m2 Pro at Best Buy for 599…..in my opinion the best option outside of the new m4, couldn’t do the Touch ID and the lower refresh rate for the same price.

I have the iPad 10 with the USB C pencil. It just makes sense, especially for the price. You can get the keyboard if needed and get the paper-like screen protector. I'm also running an architecture business straight from it.
I 1000% agree with you there. iPad Mini is THE BEST iPad. I bought the new 2024 Air solely because of M2 chip and its support of Apple Intelligence in the future. If they updated the mini with M2, I will gladly buy the Mini hands down.
It’s sad. I originally wanted a iPhone. But in the early days I couldn’t afford one. So I went begrudgingly android. After a time as android matured I thought less about iPhone. Then when at work I was forced to use iPhone I realized how much better iOS was over android. Today. Apples disgust with the customers that make them who they are is apparent. And customers are leaving Apple. iOS is great. But when one of their updates, toasts a one year old iPad Pro apple has lost all respect. I hate android tablets. But for the cost I can buy three android tablets and get two years more use from them than I can a iPad.. It’s friggen depressing. I love my iPads. But apple is forcing me to find different devices. Apple is just too full of them selves. Neither apple or android is perfect, and it’s hard to know which one to look at. I haven’t purchased an android tablet in over a decade and probably two dozen iPads in that time. Just bought my first android tablet in over ten years today. Because apple doesn’t care anymore about their products or customers. I’ll continue to use what apple hardware I have. But I don’t think I’ll be buying any apple product in the future.
I have ipad 9th gen and it is working perfectly fine and helps me in day to day task and i love to consume content from this device so this ipad is more than enough
Today, I bought a used iPad 11 Pro (2018) 256GB, for 260 euros. So far, I'm very happy with it. It has just 2 little scratches on screen, one little on side and one little on back. There is a little line about 1 pixel thin on the lower half of display (really thin), that goes from left to right side. But I don't mind it. I'm going to use that iPad for drawing and watching vids. I think it was the best buy for 260 euros I could make.😂 Other pros (2018) are sold used for about 450 - 650 euros.
The nano texture does feel nicer. You can definitely tell there is something on the glass but it’s waaaaaaaaaay less blurry than paperlike protector. The text and colours and lines are still sharp enough for a digital artist and your hand and Apple Pencil glide over the screen much more smoothly than the standard glass. If I could have afforded it, I would have got it.

For me 120hz is super important- 60hz is stutter only. I can’t use the judder Pads and Phones anymore. I see it instantly 😢 but I love the 120hz gadgets 😊 For me it’s totally worth it

Paperlike are the best protector and surface enhancer. I put one on 4 years ago and its still going strong, i clean it with a wet soft cloth. Never had nibs wear out. its a dream.
I didn't waste my money. When the iPad mini 7 did not roll out last March I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+. Samsung's discount and price cuts to include freebies were just too tempting.

I just got my iPad 2022, it’s still the current base model. Also you have to take into account how much you are willing to spend and if you need other functions. For me this was the perfect match. And also, Apple gives a lot of support with the years during its lifetime. It does everything for me. I’m a heavy content consumer, also the other taks some video processing and editing. I expect to be just fine. For me it’s a home tablet with a glass screenprotector and a case. And I’m enjoying it immensely. Especially considered the reduced price now. I finally got one , and it was a gift so I’m very happy.

Best Buy just dropped iPad Pro 11 M2 $300. Got the 512 my old iPad Pro 10.5 512 works great but Apple as usual not updating to iOS 18. Still have original iPad Air 9.7 still works great too. Wish Apple would give some type of longer support, especially how Apple makes these units.

I think i will buy ipad pro 11 inch after September because prices will go down in my country. Pro models can be used for 6, 7 years. Base pro models comes with 256gb storage and 120hz which i really need for gaming. bigger storage option is waste of money in my opinion because my 64gb ipad still has bunch of empty storage

I own an IPad Pro M2 and it’s the worst battery life of any iPad I’ve ever owned. Having to charge 2x a day on minimal use is just ridiculous. Even my IPad Air battery performance is wayyy better. Strongly recommend against the M2 iPads.
Got the regular WiFi iPad 10 with 64 gb. I use it for watching videos and browsing social media. It also works great for playing Stardew Valley. The blue is such a nice color and it was only $300. Not bad for an apple product. I use it everyday and I absolutely love it.
What about software support? The ipad 10grn was released in 2022.... How long will it be supported or updated? I am considering the Air because this reason
Watching your clip on my IPAD Pro 5th generation which I always put on power saver mode which I never felt a lag with before. It is really a great device but for only digital artists and students who are not in full computer demanding fields. I love it but in most of the cases you can't rely only on the IPAD unfortunately, at least with the current state of its operating system.

Bought a 10th gen iPad recently and had to get a 1st gen pencil because the USB-C version doesn't have pressure sensitivity. So I'm still stuck with lightning for a bit longer.
Yesterday I got an iPad air m2 11in I'm waiting on a case that has a built-in screen protector to fully use it because I don't like using something without a screen protector or a case and I wasn't going to pay $60 minimum at my carrier for just a case and then another 40 or more for a screen protector
Sorry man but Touch ID ain’t a disadvantage apple thinks it is. I prefer it much more than Face ID. I never use Face ID to unlock my phone cause I don’t want my phone unlocked everytime I check my notifications.
Overall an excellent coverage of all available iPads however one thing not discussed is the next step in the future of the iPad - namely Apple Intelligence (A.I.). According to Apple the only iPads that will be powerful enough to run AI are those powered by M chips. Apple do say that AI will run on the iPhone 15 Pro models with the A17. So, whether the next generation of “standard” iPads (due in September?) will be so powered, it looks like in order to be “future proof” we have to go for M-powered chips! Buy cheap, buy twice? Just a thought.

iPad Air does NOT have a mini led display. It is a standard lcd that is incapable of displaying hdr content properly. Literally one of the biggest reasons to go for the iPad Pro.
Amazing video, but I am surprised that you didn't mention the iPad (Pro M2). I a lot of retailers still have the stock with a massive discount. I got one for younger brother 2 weeks ago and it's down right amazing. I feel like it is the iPad that offers the most value to the user at its price. You get all the Important features like Pro-motion and a LED display. Plus it's around 30% cheaper than iPad m4. Personally I feel like its the sweet spot between iPad Pro M4 & iPad Air M2.
Great video. I would work on knowing the years in which stuff came out. Saying “last year” when there was no previous iPad Pro or Air last year. Or they skipped the M3 “last year,” when there just wasn’t an iPad released the same year as the M3.

I have found it difficult to apply the Paperlike film to an iPad Mini. while the company is responsive, they seem unwilling to design a better application process. I do not think it is worth the hassle as it now stands.
Promotion isn't really that great and any M processor is more power than the iPad needs. People have been complaining about the lack of apps not lack of power.
The regular IPad is awesome, I’ve been waiting for a price drop. 85-95% of the population won’t even know the difference between higher models. I’m still running a gen 5 2017 Ipad with 75% of original battery strength and respectable speed, but likely update pretty soon, or if this breaks,,, cheers🎉
So I am getting a iPad Pro so why me? Because I have a iPad 9 that I want to use for studying but I will NEED a new iPad because my iPad is slow because it's uses a A13 Bionic chip which is pretty SLOW and I need stage manager to study and a magic keyboard and a apple pencil so this is why I am getting this iPad!
if you want that pro motion display just go for ipad pro older generations, they are the same price with new ipad air or they go cheaper depending on your location
saying basically no one uses lightning is just wrong. i still use lightning and litterally %95 or more who have apple products are STILL using lightning. why this upset me idk but not all of us have money to get the newest apple product with type c.

What isn’t mentioned is which iPads will support Apple Intelligence iPad Pros with an M1 chip or newer and iPad Airs with an M1 chip or newer.

I think i will buy ipad pro 11 inch after September because prices will go down in my country. Pro models can be used for 6, 7 years. Base pro models comes with 256gb storage and 120hz which i really need for gaming. bigger storage option is waste of money in my opinion because my 64gb ipad still has bunch of empty storage
I am torn between iPad Pro M4 11” and iPad Air 13” as the price is similar. Which one should I get? Currently on iPad Pro 10.5” 2017. I do use my iPad as media consumption, take notes, read books. For any heavy duty work, I still rely on my MBP Pro M1
I own an IPad Pro M2 and it’s the worst battery life of any iPad I’ve ever owned. Having to charge 2x a day on minimal use is just ridiculous. Even my IPad Air battery performance is wayyy better. Strongly recommend against the M2 iPads.
Got the regular WiFi iPad 10 with 64 gb. I use it for watching videos and browsing social media. It also works great for playing Stardew Valley. The blue is such a nice color and it was only $300. Not bad for an apple product. I use it everyday and I absolutely love it.

Watching your clip on my IPAD Pro 5th generation which I always put on power saver mode which I never felt a lag with before. It is really a great device but for only digital artists and students who are not in full computer demanding fields. I love it but in most of the cases you can't rely only on the IPAD unfortunately, at least with the current state of its operating system.

Hi! Im not sure, if you right about apple care?? They will not send you a brand new device, they sand you a kind of new, but it’s not going to be brand new device in original packaging!! I’m stuck with it a couple of times!! Normally the when you buy a new device, it’s work perfectly fine, and buy apple care is a waste of money!! It’s my opinion, of course with my experience!!

Bought a 10th gen iPad recently and had to get a 1st gen pencil because the USB-C version doesn't have pressure sensitivity. So I'm still stuck with lightning for a bit longer.

Yesterday I got an iPad air m2 11in I'm waiting on a case that has a built-in screen protector to fully use it because I don't like using something without a screen protector or a case and I wasn't going to pay $60 minimum at my carrier for just a case and then another 40 or more for a screen protector
The M2 iPad Pro was $599 at Best Buy. That was the best deal I could find

Sorry man but Touch ID ain’t a disadvantage apple thinks it is. I prefer it much more than Face ID. I never use Face ID to unlock my phone cause I don’t want my phone unlocked everytime I check my notifications.
Overall an excellent coverage of all available iPads however one thing not discussed is the next step in the future of the iPad - namely Apple Intelligence (A.I.). According to Apple the only iPads that will be powerful enough to run AI are those powered by M chips. Apple do say that AI will run on the iPhone 15 Pro models with the A17. So, whether the next generation of “standard” iPads (due in September?) will be so powered, it looks like in order to be “future proof” we have to go for M-powered chips! Buy cheap, buy twice? Just a thought.

iPad Air does NOT have a mini led display. It is a standard lcd that is incapable of displaying hdr content properly. Literally one of the biggest reasons to go for the iPad Pro.

Amazing video, but I am surprised that you didn't mention the iPad (Pro M2). I a lot of retailers still have the stock with a massive discount. I got one for younger brother 2 weeks ago and it's down right amazing. I feel like it is the iPad that offers the most value to the user at its price. You get all the Important features like Pro-motion and a LED display. Plus it's around 30% cheaper than iPad m4. Personally I feel like its the sweet spot between iPad Pro M4 & iPad Air M2.

Great video. I would work on knowing the years in which stuff came out. Saying “last year” when there was no previous iPad Pro or Air last year. Or they skipped the M3 “last year,” when there just wasn’t an iPad released the same year as the M3.

Apple devices lasted 7-8 years for me…somewhere i feel this wud go 9 years … given my usage and how powerfull m4 is… on that count.. i deffo would go with the best model out there … PERIOD!

I have found it difficult to apply the Paperlike film to an iPad Mini. while the company is responsive, they seem unwilling to design a better application process. I do not think it is worth the hassle as it now stands.

The regular IPad is awesome, I’ve been waiting for a price drop. 85-95% of the population won’t even know the difference between higher models. I’m still running a gen 5 2017 Ipad with 75% of original battery strength and respectable speed, but likely update pretty soon, or if this breaks,,, cheers🎉
So I am getting a iPad Pro so why me? Because I have a iPad 9 that I want to use for studying but I will NEED a new iPad because my iPad is slow because it's uses a A13 Bionic chip which is pretty SLOW and I need stage manager to study and a magic keyboard and a apple pencil so this is why I am getting this iPad!

saying basically no one uses lightning is just wrong. i still use lightning and litterally %95 or more who have apple products are STILL using lightning. why this upset me idk but not all of us have money to get the newest apple product with type c.
