This was just in time. I'm to the point of mounting the plate on a live axle and I would have never thought to put it all together then clamp then weld. Thank you for doing an awesome job explaining the easiest way to make sure everything lines up.

Over all good video. I would like to point out that you should leave a gap in the slot for the engine mount to allow adjustment to the chain tension as the change will stretch
Subscriberoonied! Yep that's smart idea to put the Horseshoe clip on with open end going towards the back in case your chain hits bushes and stuff it won't get knocked off

what size bolts
I think he meant 5/16-24. Standard on the 212 predator motor. I opted for a torque converter over the centrifugal clutch. Supplied bolts were metric.

+Alexander Todt it is completely, 100% dependant on the welder itself so it will vary by welder and there is no clear answer other than 'read your users manual' and set your welder to the settings needed to weld 11 gauge steel.

driveshaft? you mean rear axle? using a PTO driveshaft is a whole 'nother ball game

Nope not really. Just make sure you have the right sized chain
I got a question. I have the exact same motor but I have it lifted and the engine runs good but it turns the clutch when in idol. Am I missing something so it won't want to run off on me or is that how it is?
open up your users manual, and search how to adjust idle speed (black plastic screw on top of carb) also, make sure your throttle is returning completely to idle position, if not, some people install a little spring by drilling a hole in the throttle arm and connecting the spring between the throttle arm and pull cord cover.

You will need a live axle go kart. kartfab.com/live-axle-go-kart-plans 250cc bike engine is a lot for a go kart if it is a motorcycle engine.

Live axle is the only way, unless you make some sort of a jackshaft type of setup with two one wheel assemblies, but that is impractical, a live axle kit (solid axle) is the way to go to get both wheels spinning at the same rate.

like I know you can doit in lawn mowers where only one wheel is spinning freely while the other has the power when you lock the axle both wheels have the power I just notice that the do kart in the short kill was only the one tire with power
This doesn't use a peerless transmission. It's only one wheel drive. The simplest and easiest and cheapest way to build a go kart.

You gotta weld the plate to the go kart, bolts do not hold the plate to the go kart itself.

my clutch always keeps breaking? i have to buy a new one every time i want to use it. do I need a pully system or something?
What do you mean by breaking? Describe what happens. What is the size of the thing you are riding? Teeth on clutch? Teeth on axle sprocket? Jackshaft?

You didn’t give me the information I asked for, so I can’t tell you what’s wrong. If I had to guess it’s your gearing. If you have a clutch your tires should be no larger than 15” and the axle sprocket should be around 60t/and a 10t clutch, or a 72t axle and a 12t clutch

When you buy the kit and u add the 5$ for the mounting kit does it comes with the engine mount seperate or already installed

oh, i dont know i cant help you there. Its probably a 15 degree racing mount btw, just look up go kart racing engine mount or something like that.

Wouldn't it be better to have the bigger sprocket on the clutch and the smaller on on the axle so you get more speed and less torque?
Sounds good in theory but that’s actually one of the ways you can burn up your clutch.
noooo! haha. best is a 10 or 11T gear on clutch, and a 52-60T axle sprocket. it'll still get you over 25mph with an 11T/52. if you don't care about accelerating quickly, 11T/44 gets you 32mph @3600 rpm, but you will burn the clutch up sooner.

if you do the live axle plans that i have on my website it will go 35-36 mph. If you use the free plans top speed is 25-30 mph regardless of which engine you use.

One wheel peel, I'd rather put a differential on mine.
solid axle for the cheapness,, then it's like Posi, but turning on pavement is a little bit harder
