Hi @randyruyle4400, So it depends on what Mac you have. Either way it's still possible to reset the user account password that is used to initially log in. Hi @mauricenes5837! Mac Mini's are great and right now is a great time to buy one, as @Apple has just updated them! You could use your TV as a monitor as long as it has HDMI. Aside from an HDMI cable, you would need a mouse and keyboard to be connected to the Mac Mini. Other than that, you should be good to go! Thank you so much for taking your time to watch this video. Hi @Pr3ttyPolyGirl, Do you have any other Apple Devices or a different trusted device? The passcode to lock your device is different than the password used for your Apple ID. There is special software that is out there where you can jailbreak and remove that passcode on your device, but there is a possibility that you could lose information if it's not backed up. Joel do you know of a way to re activate an account on apple ? Apple had deactivated an old account I had from my first MacBook back in 2009 . They deactivated it without my permission and refuse to activate it meaning I can’t see or hear any of the purchases I made at the time . Is this even allowed ?

The person from apple I chatted with said we can’t activate again and when I asked why she said she didn’t know . When I asked why it was deleted she didn’t know . Thanks a lot apple ! I entered my Apple ID password incorrectly too many times and received a message saying that my account was blocked for security reasons. I do have my user password and access to the computer, so can I reset my password using just the computer's password?
So a few years ago, I made an email and I lost access to it and I’ve been trying to recover it for years so when I try to sign in and I can’t sign in because I don’t know the password I will send a code to my phone number enter the phone number Then I will send an email to the email and trying to recover but I don’t have access to but I contacted Apple support and they said in six days I’ll get a call with instructions to recover my Apple ID. Does this mean I’ve successfully recovered it
Hi @user-fm6ze2ki3p, If you still have the same phone number as when that email was created a while back, you may be lucky. When you go through the recovery process, it usually takes about a week and you'll get a text message, email, or call telling you to try to log in again and then reset password. Hi @scottiepal3029, Sounds like the iPhone could be activation locked, meaning that whoever the owner is needs to put in there Apple Account email and password in there to remove it. If it's the passcode that is locking it and not an Apple ID Account, you could try recovery mode to wipe the device back to factory settings. Just a heads up, the reset option for someone else doesn't work with Androids. Or at least hasn't for me. Had 2 friends try this and the text message never arrives to my phone. Might be that it's sending via internal Apple messages.. So waiting on the umpteenth day to arrive to allegedly get a text from Apple, after owning the product for a week, so I can finally reset my password and my kid can start doing his homework on this thing instead of my computer. Yeah, doesn't bode well for purchasing another of their devices .. But whatever, they're not missing my couple of dollars anyhow.

@@Learnwithjoel On a positive note, after I got off "Apple Probation", they did indeed send me the reset text via regular SMS on the 6th day from submitting the request. It rerouted me to a slightly different reset page. I was able to reset my Apple ID password on my Android phone while on my commute home. When I got home it took some acclimating to the navigate the Ipad, but I finally got everything up and running (standard newbie mistakes and hoops aside). Take it easy...

This is a big problem my parents live in a different state i got locked out for 2 weeks on my iPhone they called the police because of no contact i forgot apple id and passcode to unlock phone its unavailable and only emergency is available
I can understand the frustration @LeroyHall-ym9em! The Apple ID password would not be associated to the passcode on your iPhone. That is a different option. I don't have a iPhone or iPad but on my Roku media player I'm signed in on the Apple tv app, I just purchased an setup a apple tv 4k media player but it won't let me sign in to the apple app. When setting up the apple tv media player it would not let me use the same username or password that I use on the apple app on the Roku, which I also use on my Nvidia shield pro as well so I had to create a new account. My issue is that I bought the apple TV 4k to use the apple tv app, it won't let me sign in as new or let me add the existing account. What do I need to do to get it working and to make it all one account. Also, when I try to activate it, it tells me to update my payment info and when I put in the information and hit submit, it gets stuck. No matter how many times I do it I can't get past that hurdle. I want to like apple but this is not the only time I've had issues with them. I have apple music also and struggled getting started with that too.

Ok, so first off, when you signed into the Apple TV on the Roku, did you sign in with your Roku account, or did you sign in/create and Apple ID Account? I found an Apple support article that you can either sign in with Roku account or sign in with an Apple ID Account. I also see that you have Apple Music, so you must have an Apple ID Account. I would concentrate on verifying your Apple ID Account. You can tell if you have an Apple ID by attempting to sign into: appleid.apple.com If that doesn't work, you can attempt to reset the password or create a new one. Thanks for responding so quickly, with my apple music that's part of a bundle with Verizon which I've had about three years now. I had to create an account with Apple which means I had to create a Apple ID. I started the apple TV on Roku earlier this year which I had to do directly with Apple, Roku would not let me do it through them. When I subscribed to Apple I tried to connect to the Apple music but it rejected the username therefore I had to create a new account. Last week I bought the Apple TV 4k video streamer it let me sign in using the same account with the music through Apple ID, that's great but now it won't let me open the apple TV app. I've added my Netflix, Disney plus UA-cam and the apple music app but it won't let me open the apple app. It tells me to go to the Apple ID and update my payment method, I do all that it says and hit submit and it gets stuck there, every time and I don't know what else to do. I haven't had a chance to watch the links you sent yet (just getting home) and thanks for that. But the mean reason I got the device is because I have Apple music and the TV app and was told that the quality was better on the apple device. I have it setup in my theater room and want the best quality in movies and music.

I entered my Apple ID password incorrectly too many times and received a message saying that my account was blocked for security reasons. I do have my user password and access to the computer, so can I reset my password using just the computer's password?
So a few years ago, I made an email and I lost access to it and I’ve been trying to recover it for years so when I try to sign in and I can’t sign in because I don’t know the password I will send a code to my phone number enter the phone number Then I will send an email to the email and trying to recover but I don’t have access to but I contacted Apple support and they said in six days I’ll get a call with instructions to recover my Apple ID. Does this mean I’ve successfully recovered it

If you still have the same phone number as when that email was created a while back, you may be lucky. When you go through the recovery process, it usually takes about a week and you'll get a text message, email, or call telling you to try to log in again and then reset password. Fingers crossed for you!

Sounds like the iPhone could be activation locked, meaning that whoever the owner is needs to put in there Apple Account email and password in there to remove it.
If it's the passcode that is locking it and not an Apple ID Account, you could try recovery mode to wipe the device back to factory settings.
If you forgot your iPhone passcode, use your Mac or PC to reset it

If you don't have another trusted device, you have attempted all password reset options, you will most likely need to get to the part where it goes into Apple Recovery.
Other than that, there may not be a lot of options.

Just a heads up, the reset option for someone else doesn't work with Androids. Or at least hasn't for me. Had 2 friends try this and the text message never arrives to my phone. Might be that it's sending via internal Apple messages.. So waiting on the umpteenth day to arrive to allegedly get a text from Apple, after owning the product for a week, so I can finally reset my password and my kid can start doing his homework on this thing instead of my computer. Yeah, doesn't bode well for purchasing another of their devices .. But whatever, they're not missing my couple of dollars anyhow.

@@Learnwithjoel On a positive note, after I got off "Apple Probation", they did indeed send me the reset text via regular SMS on the 6th day from submitting the request. It rerouted me to a slightly different reset page. I was able to reset my Apple ID password on my Android phone while on my commute home. When I got home it took some acclimating to the navigate the Ipad, but I finally got everything up and running (standard newbie mistakes and hoops aside). Take it easy...
Now I’m really confuse.

This is a big problem my parents live in a different state i got locked out for 2 weeks on my iPhone they called the police because of no contact i forgot apple id and passcode to unlock phone its unavailable and only emergency is available

The Apple ID password would not be associated to the passcode on your iPhone. That is a different option. I would highly recommend to write down and document all passwords and such. It's extremely important!

The passcode if for getting into your device and your Apple ID password is for your actual account.
As long as you have access to your device you should be able to reset your password.

I don't have a iPhone or iPad but on my Roku media player I'm signed in on the Apple tv app, I just purchased an setup a apple tv 4k media player but it won't let me sign in to the apple app. When setting up the apple tv media player it would not let me use the same username or password that I use on the apple app on the Roku, which I also use on my Nvidia shield pro as well so I had to create a new account. My issue is that I bought the apple TV 4k to use the apple tv app, it won't let me sign in as new or let me add the existing account. What do I need to do to get it working and to make it all one account. Also, when I try to activate it, it tells me to update my payment info and when I put in the information and hit submit, it gets stuck. No matter how many times I do it I can't get past that hurdle. I want to like apple but this is not the only time I've had issues with them. I have apple music also and struggled getting started with that too.

Ok, so first off, when you signed into the Apple TV on the Roku, did you sign in with your Roku account, or did you sign in/create and Apple ID Account? I found an Apple support article that you can either sign in with Roku account or sign in with an Apple ID Account.

I also see that you have Apple Music, so you must have an Apple ID Account.
I would concentrate on verifying your Apple ID Account. Forget about the Roku account for the moment as that will be irrelevant for Apple TV.
You can tell if you have an Apple ID by attempting to sign into:
appleid.apple.com
If that doesn't work, you can attempt to reset the password or create a new one. Below are some videos that may help.

Thanks for responding so quickly, with my apple music that's part of a bundle with Verizon which I've had about three years now. I had to create an account with Apple which means I had to create a Apple ID. I started the apple TV on Roku earlier this year which I had to do directly with Apple, Roku would not let me do it through them. When I subscribed to Apple I tried to connect to the Apple music but it rejected the username therefore I had to create a new account. Last week I bought the Apple TV 4k video streamer it let me sign in using the same account with the music through Apple ID, that's great but now it won't let me open the apple TV app. I've added my Netflix, Disney plus UA-cam and the apple music app but it won't let me open the apple app. It tells me to go to the Apple ID and update my payment method, I do all that it says and hit submit and it gets stuck there, every time and I don't know what else to do. I haven't had a chance to watch the links you sent yet (just getting home) and thanks for that. But the mean reason I got the device is because I have Apple music and the TV app and was told that the quality was better on the apple device. I have it setup in my theater room and want the best quality in movies and music.
