- Live video for 'The Richest Garden in your Memory' filmed at Omved Gardens, in collaboration with director Jessie Rodger (Bank of Inner Criticisms).
Hinako's autumn tour begins on 20th October (ADE, Amsterdam), and new London date announced at St Matthias Church on 9th November - more info here: www.hinakoomori.com/liveshows
Director: Jessie Rodger: “this live film feels like a synthesis of who we are as artists in our different disciplines. I loved being able to respond visually to the soft layered synths and vocals in her music, incorporating different layers of textures in the film to reflect these elements.
The song is really intimate and it was important for the video to feel truly live, we recorded everything on site and used one complete take in the film, the very first take of the day. You might even hear the live performance of the local birds in the background of the recording... Brett Cox mixed and recorded the track and we had a lovely day making this live film surrounded by greenery, beautiful sounds and good people in a hidden corner of London.”

Lyrics:
Forget, for food improvident and spare
The richest garden in your memory;
Bring down the white fruit from the tree
Which is too heavy for the tree to bear.
The richest garden in your memory
You shall begin to change, with that despair
Which is too heavy for the tree to bear,
The secret vision that you are not free.
You shall begin to change with that despair,
The moon that skews the circle of the sea.
The secret vision that you are not free
Is no less true for wisdom, no less fair.
The moon that skews the circle of the sea,
Promises of apples hung among the air,
Is no less true for wisdom, no less fair;
Weigh them, silver in your hand, for me.

The birdsong is beautiful.Hinako is excellent with her field recordings.Love the use of black and white for this film which is a recurring theme in Hinako's videos.This is her 'magnum opus' so far.It's short but beautifully structured within the time frame.It probably wouldn't work as well if it was longer.
Beautiful and still underrated
This is breathtakingly good. Bravo!
