New whakairo, poupou unveiled in Kaitaia

New carvings and poupou have been unveiled to accompany buildings that will help uplift whānau in need in Kaitaia. The dawn ceremony at Waitomo Papakāinga took place this morning, to herald the Māori new year and new beginnings.
