Super helpful! I just had my Ford Escape in for recall items and when I got it back, I noticed the clock was frozen! I’m so glad you figured out the fix, otherwise I was going to have to be “that guy” at the dealership tomorrow. You probably saved everyone a lot of needless grief! - Thanks
@@sheridansplace1607 Did you try disconnecting the negative terminal for a few minutes m - then reconnecting it? The step only took once for me, but it might take more than once for others. It seems like an odd occurrence, but since it is a simple fix, it’s better than the $155.00 for a ‘diagnostic’ that the dealership charges.
Thanks! I too did the positive because the negative was impossible to get to on my 2014 escape. The clock and the sync aux input were both repaired with this process. Thank you for saving me a couple hundred bux at the crumby dealership.
I had a loose negative battery cable and my clock did this. Glad to know I’m not insane. Ford conveniently made the negative terminal painful to access on my Focus which led to it. Thanks Ford.
I own a 2012 Ford Escape XLS, 2.4 liter, four cylinder, 171 horsepower vehicle, automatic 4 speed and I also disconnected my positive terminal for a couple of minutes and it worked. Thanks man.
Worked for our 2016 Ford Transit Connect XLT LWB - Left Negative connection off for 20 minutes and it worked!! The Negative Connection is located on the firewall to the right of the Battery Box. Taking the Battery out is not required which is nice. Thanks!!
You are more helpful than Ford Customer Service ("Take it back to the dealer") or the Ford Dealer ('That's weird - You got to bring it back in"). I did take my 2012 Focus back to the dealer because I had trouble getting to the negative terminal. I told them about your advice. And, of course, it worked. Thanks
I have a 2013 f150 and I did a master reset in the settings and that fixed it. I didn’t want to go out and unplug the battery for 10 minutes so I tried this first and it worked.
😂 After further research, I found an article that said cut the car off, then press the brake while cutting the ignition back on and it reset itself. It worked. Page 287 in the manual
@@VioletFlower79 Awesome! Happy I can help & found another way because I did not want to to disconnect anything!!! I am NOT a car mechanic at all. I wouldve made things worse🤣
I had the same problem with the clock in my 2014 Ford Transit Connect. I fixed it by pulling out fuse F 67. This fuse is located in the passenger compartment fuse box, which is located behind a hidden panel cover underneath the glove box. Simply pull this panel cover out ( it is a flimsy velvet like cover which is connected by small connecting pins). Then use needle nose pliers to pull out the small fuse F 67 which is in the second column of fuses, 3rd fuse down. It has a 7.5A on it. I put the fuse back in after two minutes and the clock still had the same problem. Next I pulled the fuse out again but this time for about 15 minutes. When I put the fuse back in the second time it fixed the clock problem. Doing this procedure you will not have to disconnect anything from the battery
Pull fuse F67 behind the glove box and wait about 10 minutes (look in the owner's manual or google the passenger compartment block diagram). This also fixes the problem with Bluetooth devices that are randomly disconnecting or failing to connect. All generations of Ford Sync leave a lot to be desired...
Changed my oil today it took 45 minutes so before I started I unhooked the negative. Hooked up negative after a good 45 minutes I didn’t start the car I just turned on the infotainment and pressed menu->click and set time then date and it took. When I replaced my battery it didn’t take. Very strange. 2014 Ford Focus. Also you have to clean the clutch actuators a lot on this vehicle to keep the transmission shifting smooth too. PITA. 😂
I'm experiencing this with my 2015 Escape after getting an extra key programmed. Too lazy to find a fix for four days over that time I noted that it sporadically advanced four minutes. I think that a coincidental symptom is consistent failure to connect with my phone unless I hassel w/ it but I don't want to state that until I see if that also goes away with this fix. Thanks for the video.
Another way to fix this is to change the date. Make sure you change the year. Them set the date back to normal and you'll be about to set your clock. I have no idea why this works but it does.
I had the "frozen clock" issue on my 2014 Focus after getting TCM replaced (long story). A SYNC master reset did not correct the issue and I did not want to pull the battery - so I simply pulled the fuse, started the car to demonstrate no power to the sync/radio with car off - I replaced the fuse then everything worked and I was able to reset clock.
That was pretty sneaky how he put “Subscribe” on top of the arrow in the upper left-hand corner. The one that shrinks the screen on an iPhone. That said, I did appreciate the video thank you
Sort of the same thing happened to me. Battery died and jumped it and now the entire screen is frozen (clock, date and temp) and you can’t even turn the radio on or use any of the buttons. Tried the battery negative cable trick and that didn’t work. Pulled the fuse for the entire dash to reset it and that didn’t work. I’m stumped.
UPDATE: I disconnected the negative terminal overnight and the clock now works! I used to do this trick to fix the clock but it’s not working anymore… maybe I should disconnect it for longer… I usually only do it for a minute.
Disconnecting the battery without the memories saver, don't you loose all memories/ settings? I accidentally found another way of UN-freezing the clock, when I pushed the OK button, the van moved and I bumped it twice and the clock took the new time and date :0
I had this exact same problem. I turned the 24 hour time on and off a few times then set the correct time in 24 hour then switched it back to 12 hour and it worked. Not sure if that’ll help anyone else but I thought I would leave a comment just in case

I put in a new battery in my 11 escape and no time but the temp and directions work. 🤔

I have this same issue. I’ve noticed over the years that the ford sync is junk. It has a lot of issues
Good to know, thanks for the data point and thanks for watching!

Having this exact issue! Ford focus 2014
Same for 2013 escape us version

If you change the date and choose ok, it will unfreeze the clock.
