Pentatonix are 3 times Grammy winners. The two bass singers are Scott and Avi. Mitch (the last singer) is a Counter-tenor singing 6 octaves higher than most people worldwide! Let's not forget Kirstin that awesome soprano and Kevin the beatboxer and tenor. ❤❤❤
PTX really are the GOATs of a capella. They have so many to choose from but some of my favorites are Imagine, Sound of Silence, Mad World, RunTo You (an original), Amazing Grace, I Just Called To Say I Love You…..and so many more. There is a live version of Hallelujah: 2016 Christmas Special, where you can see just how amazing they are live also.
In case you were wondering when Avi Kaplan (the bass) takes the melody line Scott Hoying (the blonde) picks up the bass harmonies so that you always have the fullest sound.
Loved watching your face as the song progressed!! Like many of us, it started hitting you in the "feels" when Mitch (the one with the hat and angelic voice) was singing. You will find many of their songs will do that to you!! Others you will watch with your mouth hanging open thinking...WTH. There is nothing better than watching someone new go down the Pentatonix rabbit hole!! It is a very deep hole and is somewhat like being on a roller coaster, but I can honestly say you will not find one bad song in the bunch!! Subscribed for more Pentatonix!!
Excellent. Pentatonix is one of the three master class acapella groups. They _own_ Christmas. Voiceplay, the theater kids of the three, pretty much own Halloween, and from down south, you get Home Free, rounding out the best of Acapella. This one hit your 'feels'? Try 'The Prayer'.
Pentatonix really covers the entire spectrum of music. For a pretty good idea of what they can do, I would recommend reacting to their 3 Grammy winners and 1 off their Grammy-nominated (but didn't win, unfortunately) album. Daft Punk medley (1st Grammy), Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (2nd Grammy - an instrumental piece with no lyrics, performed by a vocal group with no instruments), Jolene (3rd Grammy - in collaboration with Dolly Parton), and The Prayer (4th Grammy nomination, off the 2021 Christmas album Evergreen).
PTX 'Hallelujah' is just perfection, & my personal favorite with a special place in my heart as I only discovered them with this song here on UA-cam by accident with reactors like yourself (same with Nightwish!) and now I'm a massive fan, & their Christmas albums are now always a staple part of my festive celebrations!! You genuinely can't go wrong with ANY song of theirs for reactions, but talking about 'getting you in the feels' - might I recommend their covers of 'The Prayer', 'Imagine' and 'Say something'!
@@millennialmeetsmusic LOL, daft punk will blow your mind, i cant wait, enjoy this journey, if you love music you will never go wrong, no matter what song of theirs you choose. I'm subbed to watch your journey
Well done, my dear❤❤.. you've done 2 of the fab five of theirs... now.. sound of silence, their daft punk medley(won their first Grammy with this) and their version of amazing grace,my chains are gone.. they have many others.. They are even better with their Christmas songs.. Mary, did you know or oh come all ye faithful..honestly... if you see a song on their list you like.. they will put their spin on it and give it an upgrade. Happy hunting ❤
Yes please! React to more!! You have about 12 years of incredible covers and originals to listen to and SO many to absolutely blow you away! This is an incredible group. Subscribed and thumbs up!
Pentatonix is performing in the UK right now. Just performed in Manchester, and are now in London May 3rd and 4th (only 50 tickets left). Enjoyed your reaction today.
Love the reaction. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listen to that song and watched people react, many as their first taste of Pentatonix. It still gives me chills and “hits me in the feels”. There are hundreds to react to and you can not go wrong and will live the next as much as the last. Avi the bass did leave a few years into their careers but don’t fret he is out in his own so you can love his voice all you want. Avi Kaplan. Many videos are somewhat simplistic but they do t need all the fanfare to make it incredible. They typically enhance songs as they reinvent them with the Pentatonix magic. Two great examples are Mary Did You Know, their early years and Sound of silence with the new bass Matt. They have many originals and usually have in mind who is going to sing what as they write them. Often thinking of someone else other than who wrote them. I love PopSpring 2016 as a great example of rewrites, originals and how they share the spotlight in most songs. No camera hogs or “lead singer” of the group. Enjoy
Pentatonix is a real rabbit hole! If you really want to hear what they can do, I strongly suggest you take a look at their video "Daft Punk" you will absolutely be blown away! Welcome to the Pentaholics family! You just gained a new sub. Much love and respect to you my human sister, from Quebec!
I got emotional too when I first listened to their rendition of this song 😂 Avi's, the bass singer is also my favorite, he's so good 😍 He has a solo career now but before you'll discover him sing his songs you have to hear more of Avi's area of Pentatonix ! Try Daft Punk, they won a Grammy for this one, Imagine, Can't hold us, Gold... They're so many ... Enjoy 🥰
If you like Pentatonix and acapella, you might like Home Free (they won The Sing Off the year after Pentatonix). Start with A Man of Constant Sorrow. It is ... incredible.
Thanks for "feeling" this one. PTX usually evokes some kind of emotion. Usually it's joy, but with this one the gravity of the song and the way they sing it usually gets the tear ducts going.
You are delightful, new sub here! This was the amazing video that introduced me to Pentatonix, I still have them on my go to favorites! I must admit that the bass, Avi Kaplan, has touched my being from the start! His solo career is something you should check out, he is so talented. His powerful "Change On The Rise" ~ His gently beautiful "Avi Kaplan, All Is Well, 7 Layers Session # 126" and his jamming "When I'm A Fool, Live at Sunset Sound" are three totally different aspects of his eclectic offerings! All are well worth a reaction! Hoping you get to these, Thanks!
I could listen to this over n over and I have 😂😂 it's fantastic n that's Avi the bass Scott Kirsten Mitch n Kevin .I think ....love them ❤️ ❤️ try Mary did you know The Prayer Amazing Grace n Daft Punk ❤❤❤❤
That bass is the great Avi Kaplan. He is no longer with PTX but has had a solo career for a few years now. He released an album last year titled,. Love Is Like a Dream. He then rerecorded part of it live at Sunset Studios in L.A. Here is him singing one of those live studio songs. Avi Kaplan When I'm a Fool (Kaplan) ua-cam.com/video/LE24UTH3pmQ/v-deo.html He also had an extended tour last year with a few months in Europe then the U.S; Canada and the U.S. again. He is from California but has a cabin deep in the woods of his aprox 1000 acre property deep in the forests of Tennessee.
Nothing wrong with a genuine reaction. You will never be disappointed by any of your next PTX choices. Just remember any video since late 2017 will feature Matt instead of Avi. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Another great reaction! Thank you for reacting to Hallelujah, and for once again showing your emotions as you listened. I think many of us have also been hit in the 'feels' by Pentatonix at some point as we follow them. 😊
Good, eh? I’m so happy you decided to explore more Pentatonix, you have so much fabulous music ahead! For their exuberant side, try Sing, Can’t Hold Us and Come Along. Or, honestly, just choose any title in their catalogue that catches your eye. I promise you will not be disappointed. I really liked your reaction, thanks. Peace …
If it has not already been suggested, you MUST react to Pentatonix singing ":The Prayer." I guarantee to will again get the "feels." Us yanks call it "goosebumps."
Good Acapella band but my favourite Acapella band is VoicePlay; very similar but it’s just a matter of personal taste! You like the bass singer; wait until you hear Geoff from VoicePlay, I can’t wait to see your jaw drop 😂 Nice reaction, I guess that you’re a fan girl now 💖

Thank you so much I love Pentatonix. Yes please react to more of theirs. I don't think they have a bad one. I've never heard them sing anything I didn't love.
You mentioned that you liked hearing Avi come out feomt and singing lead. While he was, the bass part was being handled by Scott (tall blonde) who is technically their baritone but can handle bass and high tenor when needed. They are (pardon the pun) pitch perfect when live so this isn't just a studio magic creation.
Thanks for your nice reaction to & appreciation of this classic song as performed in great a cappella fashion by Pentatonix. Scott calls himself the baritone of the group, but all the members have crazy vocal ranges. Scott frequently sings tenor harmony for Mitch and Kirstie. When the full time bass singer Avi (now Matt) takes the lead line, Scott drops and covers the bass part. That switch is on camera for Hallelujah in their first holiday special. Like you - I think this song seriously highlights the magic bass of Avi. First time at the chorus, I felt his bass more than I heard it. Not to put down Mitch at all … but this one is Avi’s.

PTX's treatment of The Sound of Silence is similar to how they approached Halleluiah. That would be a good one to do next.
