I wonder whether that method works with non melt-and-pour soap, but traditional style soap hand-made? This is purely theoretical, bc I've no experience in soap making myself (yet?) But I follow a few soap & other crafts channels, so I'm sitting here like 🤔 would it cure properly in the sponge?
Semi related, I bought some soap a few years back that had a slice of dried loofah in the middle-- the actual plant. It couldn't even nearly do this bc the large internal holes etc, but the sponge emerging was nice

No you can use it for body too as long as the soap you use is for it.
