Have recently bought a wilson staff utility 15 degree on line and when hit on the sweetspot, the ball zooms into plus 240 in distance, that's off the tee. Off the ground its a little further than the 18 and 21 degree irons. Not very easy to hit but great accuracy and driver is sold. Well done and super swing mr newton.
Such a nicely edited video!!! Really enjoy seeing you outside with the "tracer". It's a shame the weather is going to turn on us in the next month or so. It seems to happen every year... Funny that.
Great video as usual. As someone interested in a driving iron a comparison between the mp 20 hmb , srixon u 85 and titlest 510 say as 2 irons would be very useful. Thanks. Kmc
In the late 1980s I acquired a second hand TaylorMade TD 1-iron with a D/Gold S300 which really flew. I stopped using it in favour of an original low-profile Orlimar TriMetal 3-wood which I had fitted with a custom graphite composite shaft (I can't remember the specifics) and was talked into letting go of the 1-iron go to an assistant pro. The TD was the beginning of this sort of club design. I also deeply regret parting with the 3-wood; but that's another story.
There’s this one time I teed off and farted on my backswing. I laughed on my down swing and totally missed the ball. The little old ladies didn’t find it that funny.
Oh dear, dilemma, dilemma..... Are you going to stick with the MP 20 HMB 2 iron?? Or go for the U510 1 iron?? What's it going to be?? BTW nice shots, well controlled in that wind.
I second this question! I’ve watched the mizuno review about 3 times and I think that’s the route I’m going to go but I was surprised by the results of this club in the wind.
@@richardsdiaz1 These new 1 and 2 irons are just so much more forgiving and much easier to strike decently. Back then they were blades....so difficult. Any bad strike and your hand was in pain for 5 mins OUCH!!
Too bad you haven't done any data testing in the sim, please do, a LOT of people are interested in this club, but your review was very general and we need to see raw numbers before spending 200+ on this club and swapping out our existing long irons.
The Nightwalker exactly, his number means so little as everyone has their own. I’m interested in how they perform relatively compare to similar clubs instead just looking at someone else number.
You're TRYING to knock down a 1-iron... You shouldn't have to try to knock down a low degree iron. I don't understand adding tungsten to increase the launch of a 1-iron. It defeats the purpose of keeping the ball low and out of the wind. They're making a utility wood with a "1".
Spent a week testing one from a friend. It’s one of the most satisfying clubs I’ve ever hit. Can’t wait to pick one up for myself
Awesome sound. I pick up the U510 3-iron tomorrow. Great video.

Michael, would you ever use this in place of a 3W?
My kind of club...at last one in captivity that works...thanks man
Any time
Just curious how far it was going compared to say udi or gapr lo

Any chance you can do a head to head with the wilson staff utility please?

Still amazing swing
Great video mate! How do you go with the distances? Would it be close to the same distance as a 3 wood?
Oh ya
How far was it going?

Alberto Fernandez-Sanguino 3rd! That was a very impressive performance! Plus there is a certain appeal to the idea of a 1 iron!
@@richardsdiaz1 I'd say more Nicklaus mystique than anything else.
Alberto Fernandez-Sanguino I gamed a 1 iron in high school! Had a real love hate relationship with it. Lol.

How much speed do you need, driver speed wise to use a 1 iron?
150 MPH usually.
Does the 1 iron go into your bag?
No data? Shocking.
Why not do a u510 1 iron, vs GAPR LO, Vs P790UDI, vs Sim UDI and one or two others to find the ultimate distance iron off the tee?
What were the distances on those shots?
You did put a 2 irons lately in your bag. So, may be a bag with just irons ? Could IT be possible ,?
Grew up with a bag of irons as a junior
Can i ask you something really personnal ?
If you play irons at 2* up, should the utility iron also be set to 2* up? I had trouble hitting the demo club at my local shop.
Ideally yes
I got the ping 2 crossover and had it fitted to suit the rest of my clubs including the lie, so much better that way.
I would love to see a current PGA player hit the 1 iron Nicklaus used in the sixties and seventies to see how they would fair
Probably same as them hitting there MB 3 iron due to the lofts these days
If some crazy company made a 1 iron hybrid with driver loft it would be a stinger machine. foriveness of hybrid but guarenteed low shots
Sub70 bruv

You keep saying a little bit of speed...... What are we talking?????
you could've made this video so much better .. c'mon dude.. 1) no distance? 2) windy day? 3) no flight info? .. list goes on
You never answer questions. Bugger off

Strikes low in the club face react nearly the same. Take the tungsten out they react completely different to a good strike.
